One of the UK’s largest bus manufacturers was acquired by one of North America’s largest. It’s interesting, the Scottish investors that had owned Alexander Dennis had built up a good company from the wreckage of the previous owners. Plus, prior to requirements for disabled access, the early years of deregulation and privatisation were not kind to manufacturers. A little hard to invest in a new coach, when a new operator could buy the old one, and compete on the same route.

@3 Show me a Republican and I’ll show you a hypocrite.
Everyone knows by now that Republicans are two-faced. Everything they say is an empty talking point for the convenience of the moment. It could change tomorrow. They believe in nothing, except winning, and they’ll stoop to anything to win. When you try to look into their souls, there’s nothing there, all you see is a black empty space, because they’re soulless. The GOP has no compass, moral or otherwise, only bleak darkness and emptiness, like a solar system without a sun.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
So here’s the transcript of the voice mail Trump attorney left with Flynn attorney the minute he learned that Flynn was going to plead out and cooperate:
“Hey, Rob, uhm, this is John again. Uh, maybe, I-I-I’m-I’m sympathetic; I understand your situation, but let me see if I can’t … state it in … starker terms. If you have … and it wouldn’t surprise me if you’ve gone on to make a deal with, and, uh, work with the government, uh … I understand that you can’t join the joint defense; so that’s one thing. If, on the other hand, we have, there’s information that. .. implicates the President, then we’ve got a national security issue, or maybe a national security issue, I don’t know … some issue, we got to-we got to deal with, not only for the President, but for the country. So … uh … you know, then-then, you know, we need some kind of heads up. Um, just for the sake of … protecting all our interests, if we can, without you having to give up any … confidential information. So, uhm, and if it’s the former, then, you know, remember what we’ve always said about the President and his feelings toward Flynn and, that still remains, but-Well, in any event, uhm, let me know, and, uh, I appreciate your listening and taking the time. Thanks, Pal.”
Interestingly, 48 hours after Mueller’s resignation DOJ refused an order from Judge Emmett Sullivan to release a transcript of recorded conversations that took place over the holidays in 2016 between Republican campaign operative Flynn and Russian Ambassador Kislyak in which the two illegally negotiated relief for Russian economic sanctions as compensation for Russian campaign assistance.
So now the lay public gets to see how appointed-for-life federal judges react when government attorneys tell them to fuck off.
Prediction: Sullivan will begin by taking names. He’ll issue an order to appear. And whichever poor slob is assigned to respond will have one of the shittiest days of his career… so far.

@20 Whatever you could honestly say about Hillary, she wasn’t incompetent. And whatever you might say about Trump, in good faith or otherwise, he isn’t competent.
So, in 2016, voters had a choice between competent and incompetent, and a minority chose incompetent (some of whom are now wailing about what they did to themselves).

He isn’t being charged with a crime.
It’s nice that he’s concerned about a very real problem, but this is the wrong way to publicize it, on multiple levels. The issue will have more credibility with the public if it’s brought to their attention by the scientists who are studying it.

Of course, Rudy won’t sue Robert Mueller to get the taxpayers’ money back; this is just empty talk to fire up the rubes.

2. However, there’s a possibility the taxpayers would not have to pay for Mueller’s defense, because the judge likely would impose Rule 11 sanctions on Giuliani.
