While South Korea would prefer not to invade they are at the point where they are considering it, they are also considering going nuclear. As is Japan. The choices in dealing with North Korea is war or negotiation, There is no indication the North Korean’s are willing to give up nuclear arms based on their sovereignty. If that is their position then war is the only recourse open to the Trump administration, and it can go to war right now under Congressional authority given during the Korean War, Perhaps the democrats in Congress need to work out a treaty with the North Korean’s first, before blustering about passing bills to limit the Presidents power they would not even consider if Hilliary Clinton were in office. Of course then it would be the Republican’s passing or talking about such bills.
    Calling the North Korean regime is the appropriate action, and if we want no nukes in North Korea only one way that is going to happen.
    North Korea is likely to do something in next few days to two weeks. So lets see what happens. A winter war in Korea, ugly, really ugly.

    This is a religious fundamentalist man in the late 70s and 80s. If you’re going to be traditional and ask parents’ permission to date their child, you ask the father, not the mother, or at least both parents. If he’s around and you’re on the up and up, you sure as hell do not ignore the male head of the household. And you don’t excuse your actions by settling for mentioning the mothers as your get-out-of-jail-free card, if you dealt with a man at the time and he gave you permission.

    In at least 3 instances (giving him the benefit of the doubt that he didn’t have anything to do with the 14 year old – which I don’t. At all), the only person available to ask was the mom.

    That shows a pattern, especially for the era and from the mindset of this ‘devout’ man: you’re targeting teenage girls from broken homes who are vulnerable and do not have a man to protect them. You likely have views that single mothers have something to be ashamed of, and are not paragons of virtue, which would color your attitude toward her children, too. The mothers themselves, and their daughters, were likely very aware that others saw them that way, and probably internalized at least a bit of that themselves.

    At best, these girls did have fathers around, and Moore went behind their backs to ask the weak link in the family – the mom – which shows he knew he was being sleezy.

    So you’re a guy with what we already know is an outrageously fundamentalist mindset, which means you already think of women’s roles as relatively narrow, that they’re weaker, more sinful, and more malleable than men, and that they have less agency than your own. You’re showering attention on teenage girls either from morally questionable homes or going behind the backs of their fathers, making them vulnerable without the protection of a man.

    That’s grooming behavior from someone who knows he’s a predator.
