    In today’s sports news,

The Paul G. Allen Estate has announced that the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers are for sale, in a move that could have implications for the return of the Seattle Supersonics and sale of the Seattle Seahawks. … It has widely been believed that the estate, controlled by Jody Allen, was required to sell the Blazers and Seahawks within a given period of time.

The Seahawks situation was complicated by a provision in the deal to build Lumen Field that banned the sale of the franchise unless a new owner paid the state 10% of the sale price. That provision expired last year.

Trump got nothing in exchange for lowering Chinese tariffs:

Trump didn’t actually hold out for any substantive concessions before lowering his tariffs on China by 115 percentage points. Beijing did not address any of the grievances that the president cited when he initially imposed vast tariffs on all Chinese goods. China did reduce its retaliatory tariffs, but it only imposed those duties after Trump had launched his trade war.

Trump … drastically scal[ed] back his tariffs with China, even in the absence of any face-saving “wins.” Apparently, mounting reports of quiet ports and impending shortages persuaded Trump to take a step back. What’s more, he suggested Monday that his goal in ongoing trade talks with Xi Jinping’s government is to “open up” China to American goods. This is a significantly more modest goal than fully ending America’s trade deficit with China, which Trump had previously deemed a precondition for any agreement.

Trade, trade barriers, trade deficits, and trade imbalances are very complicated. Trump is a simpleton. It’s not surprising that he had to abandon his plans upon discovering you can’t assemble a Swiss watch with pliers.

The Trump administration’s “solution” to courts upholding due process rights is to take away due process rights.

How the American Century ignominiously ended:

People in other countries have good reason to be hostile to the United States. Our president is a very unbalanced person who is awash in resentment over things that are not true and problems that don’t exist.

His relationship with the rest of the world is based solely on the idea that everyone is “ripping off” America and taking advantage.

He’s uneducated about history, so he doesn’t realize that it was America that built the system he rails against. We did so to create a stable world order that might prevent another catastrophe like the two horrific wars of the 20th century.

    https://www.salon.com/2025/05/05/the-world-is-now-reversing-course-to-reject-trumpism/

Now Trump is unraveling that stable world order, and the idiots who voted for him are responsible.

Some fucking idiot told me that the only reason Tesla sales were cratering was because millions of giddy fan-girls were standing by waiting for the AWESOME new Model Y update to become available:

Still fills my heart with wicked glee each and every time the Nazi Fucktard posts another comment describing just how calamitous the inevitable financial collapse of the car company that can’t sell cars is going to be.

Tesla sales are in free fall.
The latest, greatest and agonizingly long anticipated WankPanzer, originally “scheduled” for releas in 2021 arriving three years late, is piling up in vast storage lots where the “stainless steel” body panels are slowly rusting exposed to the weather.
To keep the WankPanzer from falling any further behind schedule Tesla was forced to abandon years of planning and effort behind development of an all new, lower cost EV platform originally scheduled to be released this year.
To prop up the anticipated decline in sales Tesla “re-imagined” the Model Y, once the most popular EV in the world, with the “new in 2025” “Juniper” to look more like the WankPanzer, the most collosal new car failure in history.
To paper over these disgraces, Tesla head faked with a completely imaginary “autonomous” vehicle, which it now turns out requires a full time driver to hopefully prevent it from blasting into solid objects (and people) at 100 kph whenever it rains.
And to take the place of the now canceled new platform, Tesla is introducing instead a completely stripped down, shit-box version of the Model 3 it is imaginatively calling “Model 2” which is now further delayed and missing the targeted price point despite having almost every attractive feature stripped out.
The company is so far behind on its utility bills that the supplier is publicly suing them.
Canadian regulators have discovered that the company has been falsifying filings for years in order to pump up its income from regulatory credits, its only remaining source of profits.
Tesla continues to set new records for safety related recalls relative to sales volumes.
Ownership satisfaction continues to decline as owners often wind up spending more time waiting for warranty fixes than driving their new car in the first year, even without the crowds of dirty poor children standing around mocking them.

And the sales are just simply terrible. Absolutely terrible. With simply no signs of improvement in the near or even distant future.

Hand it to them, they really had something going for a little while there. It was an incredibly audacious thing to do. And by 2023 they really had pulled it off. Getting way ahead of the competition in terms of technology and critical performance. But even then, warning signs were present. The cars were costly and complicated to build, with many, many more individual worker performed manufacturing steps when compared to the other modern cars. And engineering analysis informed investors that even with enormous factories and big investments in manufacturing robots, because of the basic design of the car platforms, they would always be more expensive to build, limiting profit and market penetration. But when given the chance to scrap the truck that literally nobody asked for and pivot investment into a new platform design, the true “genius” of Elmo came to the rescue and ensured their ultimate doom.

But the Nazi Fucktard went ride-or-die at over $400. So all he can really do now is white-knuckle the months ahead praying that the rest of the herd are at least as stupid as he is. And trust me about this, if by whatever idiocy it should happen, on the day the price creeps ever so slightly above $400 he’ll hold it. Because if there is one thing the last few years have taught us all, it is that the Nazi Fucktard can talk himself into anything.
