It’s Tuesday, so the gang at the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally will get together for conversation and drinks. Stop by, if you can.

We meet tonight and every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern, 2409 10th Ave E, Seattle. You’ll find us in the back room of the pub. We start at 8:00pm.

    Took the day off and went over to Bremerton and getting off the ferry, besides the bus loop in front of the terminal, I saw the other waiting line of buses inside of the base. The Worker/Driver buses of Kitsap Transit. At least as long as Kitsap Transit has been around, these have always been used buses, as they do 1 round trip a day. During the day, the drivers have a day job at the employer, usually Naval Base Kitsap, it’s rare for a civilian employer to participate. Well, Kitsap Transit’s phase out of diesel buses applies to this service too, and several battery electric buses are already in service on the WD Routes. Good thing they park them at KT’s Charleston Base, might see DoD prohibit them from the base, at least parking the, there.

    Until now, it had been either used buses purchased from other operators, or hand me downs from Fixed Route services.

    Well you see what happened was we ran a query for employees on the job for less than two years and we got the big results and then we sent termination notices to all of them. How were we supposed to know the team at USDA trying to keep the bird flu away and save the chickens were all hired in 2024? Big Ballz over there was doing all the waste and fraud and saving the taxpayers but yeah, the $9 a dozen eggs is gonna last another few months. Six at the most. Maybe a year.     My cousin’s beautiful 30 year old daughter has been battling glioblastoma, a horrible malignant brain tumor. Most people with this do not survive a year. After undergoing surgery she entered a clinical trial funded through NIH and has almost 5 years … unbelievable really. weekend the family heard the trial funding has been suspended and her doctors have been fired. My cousin is devastated and is frantically searching universities everywhere across the country that may be able to continue to help his daughter.
    I voted for Trump, I believe in his agenda, and I want to reduce the debt. But these rapid mass firings are out of control. The idea that every person is expendable is ridiculous. People at NIH helping my cousin were likely brilliant, dedicated, professionals and probably underpaid as well. I wish Trump and Elon had been more careful and left them alone.
