DLBottleTuesday at last! And that means the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally will be getting together for an evening of political conversations over a drink. Please stop by!

We meet tonight and every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern, 2409 10th Ave E, Seattle. You’ll find us in the small room at the back of the tavern or, perhaps, on the back patio. We start at 8:00pm.

Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the place…if you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, stop by another chapter near you.

    Congratulations for turning the allegation of “Hitler” into something like the melody chanted by fans at the Atlanta Braves home games while they do the Tomahawk Chop.

    Every GOP presidential candidate since Thomas Dewey has been compared to Hitler, but this is the first time the Democrats compared a candidate to Hitler who then went on to win who is running for a non-concurrent second term, and thus have to explain why even though he didn’t do much Hitlering in his first term, he’d be sure to really have the Reich Stuff in his second.

    Yup, that’s just how big a slur it’s become.

    1 forgot to mention all the direct references to a permanent “Reich” issued by that candidate.

    The “victim of slurs” sits awkwardly on a guy who refers to all those who oppose him as “scum of the earth”, “fucking blowjob liberals”,and “scumbags”, and who promises to “get rid of all of you”.

    It was a long time coming, I’ll admit.

    But finally after the 2022 midterms and seeing wave after wave of massive street protests I was really beginning to consider not using the “N” word any longer and perhaps not even calling gay people “faggot” anymore.

    Then I saw on FOX how some skate-anarchist from Evergreen called Trump “Hitler” and I immediately renewed my subscription to Stormfront.
    Surely you can all agree how obvious it is that German Jews bore the greatest responsibility for the rise of the Nazi party.

    Haley showed no empathy for starving Gaza civilians or dying children. None. Her posture is that Israel can do no wrong, and if you criticize Israel, you’re not Israel’s “friend.” You’re-either-with-us-or-against-us-garbage. Shameless pandering to the Israel Lobby. This is the same panderer to racists who called slavery Southern “tradition.”

    Haley will suck up to Trump. He’ll shit all over her. We won’t feel sorry for her.

    Well the second and third paragraphs are the interesting ones. Trump’s DOJ was, as we know, fully corrupt and complicit in trying to shield him from criticism.

    Former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page have reached a settlement with the Justice Department after they alleged their privacy rights were violated when their text messages were released and became political fodder for Donald Trump to oppose the Russia investigation during his presidency.

    Page’s suit alleged that “DOJ and/or FBI officials” provided the messages to reporters “for multiple improper reasons, including to elevate DOJ’s standing with the President.”

    It claimed that journalists were brought to the Justice Department “to review the messages at night, prohibiting the reporters from copying or removing the set of messages from the building, and instructing them not to reveal DOJ as the source.”

    IG is not doing any kind of investigation, despite that statement of information containing allegations of criminal misconduct.

    Presumably Garland is trying to manage it all quietly and internally – at least in part because a full blown public corruption investigation of the DOJ would weaken so many other public corruption and related criminal investigations being carried out.

    But a bunch of these assholes need jail time.

    The best thing is I won’t even vote for him. I’ve never voted for him. Mostly I just point out that he’s out campaigning while the DNC is doing its best to hide Biden from public view. That’s not a defense of Trump, it’s merely observation.
