We meet tonight and every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern, 2409 10th Ave E, Seattle. You’ll find us in the small room at the back of the tavern. We start at 8:00pm.

    Indicted ex-FBI informant told investigators he got Hunter Biden dirt from Russian intelligence officials

    The former FBI informant charged with lying about the Bidens’ dealings in Ukraine told investigators after his arrest that Russian intelligence officials were involved in passing information to him about Hunter Biden …

    Prosecutors also said Alexander Smirnov has been “actively peddling new lies that could impact US elections” after meeting with Russian spies late last year ….

    Smirnov claims to have “extensive and extremely recent” contacts with foreign intelligence officials …. [H]e previously told the FBI that he has longstanding and extensive contacts with Russian spies, including individuals he said were high-level intelligence officers or command Russian assassins abroad.

    Remember the radical Republicans’ claims that refusing to wear masks was constitutionally protected free speech?

    Today, “In a brief order without any noted dissents, the court let stand a lower ruling that tossed the constitutional challenge filed by Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Ralph Norman (R-S.C.)” of fines imposed on them in May 2021 “after flouting the House floor mask mandate that was put in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic ….”

    With no help at the top of the ticket from the felon trying to win the Presidency….

    Republican Eric Hovde was recruited by National and state Republicans to take on Tammy Badwin. How’s it going. Well WI media has already taken note that Hovde spends the bare minimum time in the state (maybe less) to qualify for the ballot and appears to enjoy his $7m California estate instead. It’s also now known that he transferred a $2.3m DC house to his brother recently.

    And then he made his annoucement:

    In making his case that he’s NOT a pedophile “resuer of children” like Tim Ballard but a kinder, gentler kind of potential predator, “I know (sexual trafficking) is a thing, I have homes all over the world.”

    Because even if his “rescue homes” are on the up and up nothing says ‘political acumen’ like alluding to your rich dude carpet bagger status like talking about all the houses you own.

    This is the GOP deep bench. Paging Dr. Oz. Dr. Oz. Can you come to Pennsylvania?

    We’ve been treated to all kinds of speculation of a floor fight and brokered Convention by Democrats from our resident dumbfuck. No serious person thinks it’s going to happen but it;s his firm belief that ‘Democrats in dissarray’ will propel Donald to a win.

    But what about the other party. MI is pretty much essential for any hope of that GOP win.

    Michigan Republicans’ clash over leadership of their state party could mean dueling presidential nominating conventions will take place March 2, even though the national Republican Party has said members properly removed former chair Kristina Karamo.

    Former Congressman Pete Hoekstra, the new Michigan GOP chair as recognized by the Republican National Committee, announced Tuesday that the state Republican Party will hold a presidential nominating convention to allocate 39 of the state’s 55 presidential delegates on March 2 in Grand Rapids. But Karamo and her backers plan to hold a convention the same day in Detroit.

    Yes the GOTV effort in MI for the GOP is going to be a well oiled machine. In the latest filing MI State GOP has a mere $246K on hand. Did we mention the new maps making MI spend so much of that money to not get trounced on the State Level.

    Well that’s a shame. NY Comic Con will be missing one of it’s least trafficked booths from now on.

    And on to Ohio where the voters just overwhelmingly put the right to an aborion to a vote.

    Entrepreneur Bernie Moreno is one of three men running to face off against Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown in the fall. During a discussion with all Republican primary candidates Monday night, the moderator asked the men for their stance on abortion and reproductive rights.

    Moreno said his daughter had recently flown home after visiting him. “Mom carrying what looks like an F1 team-worth of equipment,” Moreno said. “People helped her on that plane. Helped put the stroller away, helped her with her seat.”

    “Those are the kinds of things that we can do,” he said. “Let’s be a pro-mom, pro-family policy.”

    Hear that ladies. If you have a baby after getting raped we’ll help you get on a plane. Feeding that kid if you’re poor….not so much.

    The sponsor of The Georgia bill to force trans kids to use the wrong bathroom, Republican of course had a rough day after a non-binary girl was beaten to death in a Oklahoma High School bathrrom.

    “Well, you know, we’re working on that, and I’m going to protect kids like you,” State Sen. Carden Summers.

    When told by the girl’s parents that the child is transgender Sen Summers said he was going to make sure kids use the ‘right bathroom’ and ran away telling the family, “You are attacking me!”

    In this case, I counted 28 cuts in this 2 minute video. 28. In something this short, *maybe* you do 5-6 cuts max.

    Except it isn’t actually all that funny.

    It’s easy to see what Putin’s motive is, or maybe he just got lucky, but in any case, instead of approving aid for Ukraine the Republicans have bogged down chasing after an impeachment inquiry based on FSB lies, and this couldn’t have worked out any better for Putin’s aggression in Ukraine.

    Fog of war, or genocide? Israel has one of the world’s best-trained and best-disciplined militaries. It’s governed by rightwing extremists, some of whom have openly called for Palestinian genocide. They can’t be trusted. I have to vote for “genocide” in this case.

    Israel may win its war against the Palestinians (notice I didn’t say “Hamas”), but lose the sympathy and support of the American people in the process. Losing the support of the U.S. government will take longer; but once lost may never recover.

    Karamo’s filings are bullshit.
    She’s been strip mining the state GOP for months now. She even tried to sell the headquarters, only to learn while it was being listed that the party did not own it.

    The RNC has intervened and just this week their lawsuit was approved. Later this week they’ll find out if they can obtain emergency injunctive relief soon, or have to wait until after trial.

    All the money is gone or going to lawyers 👍.

    And with Lara Trump taking over the RNC there won’t be any further rescue coming from them.
    It’s a shocking failure. Trump’s only remaining hope for a flip will be Georgia.
