    But in Texas, the clinics face more challenges because the state hasn’t expanded Medicaid. That leaves almost 800,000 people with limited options for health care, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

    Olympic gymnastics champion Mary Lou Retton has pneumonia and is in intensive care in a Texas hospital.

    Retton’s daughter, McKenna Kelley, shared Retton’s condition in an Instagram post on Tuesday. Kelley said the 55-year-old Retton, who became the first American woman to win the Olympic all-around title, is “fighting for her life” and not able to breathe on her own.

    Kelley started a fundraising campaign on Retton’s behalf for medical expenses. Kelley wrote that Retton does not currently have medical insurance.

    People with insurance tend to not wait until pneumonia becomes an ICU visit before seeking treatment.

And anyone with half a brain doesn’t need 10 seconds to realize Hamas wants to provoke an Israeli overreaction that harms a lot of Palestinian civilians — the same civilians they use as human shields. It’s obvious Hamas’s objectives have nothing to do with the suffering of ordinary Palestinians or improving their lot. One plausible objective: Kill off the two-state solution, which Hamas never wanted. Whether by design or not, this was an attack on the peacemakers.

    Now enter Doctor Dumbfuck, HA’s resident military strategist and counterterrorism expert, who argues the best way to deal with this is to kill them all and let God sort them out.

    Oct 10 (Reuters) – Law firm Winston & Strawn said on Tuesday that it had rescinded a job offer to a New York University law student who wrote in a student bar association online publication that “Israel bears full responsibility” for Hamas’ deadly attack in Israel.

    The firm did not name the student, who it called a former summer associate. But a Monday online newsletter from the NYU Student Bar Association includes a message from SBA president Ryna Workman blaming Israel for the violence.

    It’s a disgusting POS. The world should make it permanently unemployable.

    Any reasonable person should support efforts that result in increasing Israel’s security.

    But it’s also very reasonable to ask if an indiscriminate slaughter of hundreds of thousands of civilians, whatever their ethnicity or politics, will accomplish that.

    That isn’t a purely rhetorical question. A plausible case can be made for depopulating Gaza to achieve enhanced security. And I must assume that within Israel that case is being made right now. But I think there is a very strong likelihood that neither Israel nor it’s allies have the stomach for what that would look like. And it would almost certainly draw in other regional military powers to oppose it.

    But a partial effort at that would also be a disaster in the long run IMHO. So whatever bloody wet dream fantasies drive the speculations of idiots like our troll, we should all hope for their sake that more rational minds are formulating Israel’s strategy in this new war on Hamas.

    After people pointed out that Retton has a known net worth of $8M AND has a somewhat popular $25K per motivational speaking career the daughter pulled down the Instagram post and at least for now the fundraising page has gone dark after raising more than $100K.

    Retton was a mild critic of the ‘socialized medicine’ of Obamacare at the time but that she had no insurance at all with her level of income seems odd. Some on the interwebs are saying she was a “don’t get the Jab” Covid denier but there really isn’t any readily googleable proof of that.
