    @1 Republican candidates routinely use liberal musicians’ music in their campaigns without permission. They don’t consider it stealing; they think of it as expropriation.

    Nazis expropriating Jews’ art collections comes to mind, but of course it’s an imperfect comparison. The Nazis didn’t use it for political campaigns. They didn’t believe in elections.

    Oh how special.. Right now or in the near future, in all your social media feeds, you’ll have the ability to opt in to lies, hate speech, falsehoods, propaganda, klownspiracy theory rabbit holes…

    Example:

    Mark Finchem, the Republican candidate seeking to oversee Arizona’s election system as the state’s secretary of state, made a fundraising pitch on the eve of the 2022 election, falsely arguing on Facebook and Twitter that his Democratic opponent, Adrian Fontes, was a member of the Chinese Communist Party and a “cartel criminal” who had “rigged elections” before.

    When Twitter, seemingly in response to journalists’ questions, appeared to restrict his account, Musk declared he was “looking into” complaints that Finchem was being censored. Later that evening, Finchem was back to tweeting his message. He thanked Musk “for stopping the commie who suspended me from Twitter a week before the election.”

    Gee, I suppose it might have something to do with this series of attacks:

    Police say rise of robberies, home invasions in south Seattle target elderly Asian community members

    SEATTLE — Seattle police are warning of an increase in robberies in south end areas of the city, mostly targeting elderly members of the Asian community.

    There have been 14 reported incidents since June, though police believe there may be more that went unreported. Of those incidents, 13 involved the elderly Asian community, said Seattle Police Department Detective Judinna Gulpan in a Tuesday press conference.

    So that’s the “some people did something” aspect of it.

    How do we know it’s racial targeting? It might not be. It might just be thugs targeting the weak. Thugs who haven’t seen The Karate Kid, perhaps. Wax on, wax off.

    According to police, the suspects have typically been a group of three to seven armed teenage males who have “accosted victims outside of their homes,” forcing entry into their residences. During these robberies, the victims were assaulted or held at gunpoint.

    The video in the link doesn’t provide enough evidence to prove the assailants are black. But it also doesn’t prove that the assailants are teenage. If the police know their ages, the police know their skin color.
