    Attached below is the letter I sent to the Minority Leader before I switched parties from Democrat to Republican at the Fayette County courthouse this morning. It details my reasons and convictions for doing so.
    I must be an effective delegate for the people of Fayette County and of my district. They deserve that. They also deserve a delegate who understands their beliefs, culture, and convictions–I do. I grew up here; I was raised in and around my constituents. This community gave me my foundation and I have taken representing them accurately as one of the most serious charges I have ever had the honor of having. Aside from being the best father to my children that I can be, being the most effective delegate for my community is the most serious job I’ve ever had.
    I will continue fighting for higher wages, access to healthcare, public schools, economic growth, public employees, and continue fighting to make Fayette County the shining jewel of West Virginia.

    I’m not keeping score, but if I was I’d point out that it’s the fourth state legislative seat flipped to the GOP since mid-March.

    Even in today’s tepid stock market, sitting on my cute cottontail doing nothing I made more than 15 times what a Washington minimum wage worker made in an 8-hour shift! What’s more, I owe zero taxes on this privileged income. Capitalists get all the money and privileges, while workers only get more work. I don’t understand why anyone works under a system like that.

    Authorities say local police were called to a patio bar at the Doherty Hotel in Clare on Friday night, where members of the Michigan GOP’s new state central committee gathered for their first formal meeting the following day.

    A video recording obtained by Bridge Michigan shows a confrontation between Kalamazoo Republican Party Chair Kelly Sackett and Macomb County GOP Secretary Melissa Pehlis. After they exchanged words, Sackett appeared to knock a cigarette and phone from the hand of Pehlis, who responded by thrusting an open hand at Sackett’s head.
