DLBottle DLBottle Hear ye, Hear ye! A symposium of the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally will convene this evening for discussion, analysis, and consumption of the essential spirits and antifogmatics.

The Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally meets every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern (2409 10th Ave E, Seattle) starting at 8pm out on the back patio. Some folks may meet in the back room of the pub to stay warm.

Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the place…if you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, there is probably another nearby chapter for you.

    Having largely abandoned the most strident, and argumentative pro-Trump, Stop the Steal paranoid rhetoric after this fall’s collapse, the incel troll now relies on a rotating series of concern-trolling tepid challenges to Biden/Democrats/teachers/LGBTQ kids.

    What impresses me most however, is how seldom any of it lands. Seems like well over 90% of it is debunked in the same thread in the same breath. And the remaining 10% is often built around issues that don’t work out at all the way the troll needs them to.

    For a good example of the latter, his criticism of the Biden withdrawal from Afghanistan was merited, if overblown. But in the end it had no discernible impact on the midterms and the consensus opinion among even moderate Republican voters is that they are grateful (to Biden!) we are out of there, even if they would have preferred it had been done differently, although they can’t say how.

    For good examples of the former take your pick from swimsuit inspections to Drag Story Hour raids to CRT scares to the endless search for images of Hunter Biden’s penis, etc. ad nauseam. It never ends. But it also never lands. At least not outside their bubble.

    So this has me wondering if Republicans gaining control of the House and launching a million investigations of Democrats will even matter. Or if it might even backfire, as persuadable voters see little point in the exercise and recognize an attempt to distract and play for time.

    @2 It’s not possible to impair the full faith and credit of the United States. The 14th amendment prohibits it. The debt ceiling is unconstitutional and should be ignored.

    What is it about the Pacific Northwest and gay mayors who behave like POS?

    First there was Portland’s Sam Adams. Doing the Matt Gaetz thing, homo-style with a really, really young intern.

    Then there was Ed Mole. Also doing boys who had been entrusted to him.

    Then there was Spokane’s “Wild, Wild West”, who diddled boys often enough to make everyone but the most diehard liberal forget about Denny Hastert.

    And now there’s Sam Adams. Yup, that same Sam Adams.

    Emails: Mayoral aide Sam Adams ‘unprofessional,’ bullied staff

    Her complaint is one of many included in the 46 emails KOIN 6 News obtained against Adams dating back to 2021.

    The documents suggest Adams’ behavior brought several female employees to tears and allegedly caused at least one female employee to leave her position.

    Another email stated: “Women are leaving the mayor’s office because of Sam and are afraid to say anything.”

    Common themes include alleged bullying, interrupting, professional threats primarily directed at female colleagues.

    Another employee wrote an email to the Bureau of Human Resources on September 3, 2022. “I called BHR director to express my concern and observations that Sam treats men differently than he treats women. I can attest to this.”

    Gay men are unfit for executive office. At least in the Pacific Northwest. And I’m including current PDX mayor Ted Wheeler, who made the poor decision to let POS Sam Adams back in the mayor’s circle.

    That’s four POS gay men who serve(d recently) as mayors in substantial-size PacNW cities.

    This is why Mayor Pete can never be allowed to become president.

    One of the problems with gay mayors is that they intentionally inflict emotional distress on other gays.

    Just look at what the statement from homosexual current PDX mayor Ted Wheeler says about homosexual former mayor Sam Adams:

    As an at-will employee in the Mayor’s office, a formal investigation is not necessary to determine Mr. Adam’s continued employment. While the complainants may not have wanted to get involved in formal investigations with Mr. Adams, we felt the complainants raised serious concerns. The Mayor’s office and the Bureau of Human Resources spoke to Mr. Adams about these concerns over the course of his most recent employment. By the end of 2022, the accumulation of serious concerns led the Bureau of Human Resources to recommend ending the City’s employment relationship with Mr. Adams. The Mayor received this recommendation and acted on it.

    In addition, Mr. Adams was contacted directly by the Bureau of Human Resources on at least two other occasions during his most recent employment dates of 2/1/2021 to 1/11/2023 to discuss complaints surrounding his behavior.

    After the additional complaint regarding Mr. Adams was reported from the City Attorney’s Office in mid-December 2022, the Bureau of Human Resources (BHR) reported to the Mayor’s office the accumulation and details of the complaints during Mr. Adam’s most recent tenure with the Mayor’s office. It was at that time that BHR reported to the Mayor that there were now six female complainants and recommended ending Mr. Adam’s employment with the city.

    On January 10, 2023, the Mayor demanded Mr. Adams’ resignation, which the Mayor accepted.

    That’s a very cruel spin on the recurrent anemia that Sam Adams says prompted his resignation.
