The Supreme Court today, with an odd coalition of justices, voted 5-4 to temporarily block a Texas law forcing social media platforms to publish lies, propaganda, misinformation, and hate.
Predictably, Clarence Thomas led the charge for allowing Texas legislators to tell private companies they must publish what rightwingers tell them to publish.
Texas casts this law as “common carrier regulation.” Not stated, but hidden between the printed lines, are “big government” and “fuck the First Amendment.”
It takes GOP legislators hours or days to pass forced birth. Their answer to ending school shootings is: Never.
They do, however, want more white cops in minority schools, and more 10-year-old black kids in chokeholds and handcuffs.
However, they plan to let some of the Hispanic kids survive to become $7.25-an-hour chicken plant workers. To replace the ones that died.
