I travel very far for many, many months from far away in Honduras with my mother and sister. I am very lucky to be here. We came across the border in Texas in March with many other people after leaving everything behind in our home town in Honduras where it was very dangerous. In the town where I lived a wealthy and powerful man had his own army of very bad men. For many years he and his men had worked for the United States fighting with las communistas in Nicaragua. They sold las drogas to buy guns to shoot las communistas for el Presidente Bush who paid them with mucho dinero. But the war stop. And so the money stop. The bad men had no work and no war. So they try to buy my sister. I try to fight them with my beisbol bat. But my mother she scared. So we run away.
Now I’m here in America and I’m so happy and thanking to all of you. But most especially I am thanking to the Mister Governor Abbott of Texas. He is a great man. A very nice and kind man. We have no money, no food, and no clothes. He give us money, clothes, food. Then the Governor Abbott put us on a bus to travel to a big city with jobs and soft beds with clean sheets. We have never been so happy. The bus take two days to bring us to Washington. I have a whole row to myself and I can sleep on the soft seats and watch out the window. I see your great country and many nice people. Every day on the bus we stop to eat four times. There is a television in the cafe. I never eat so many times. And I read books that the Governor Abbott give to me. He give me a red hat that say “Make America Great Again”. I wear it every day.
I am going to be a governor one day like the Governor Abbott. And I will help people be save in America just like he do. He is a great man who do great things. When I am married I will have a son and I will name him Governor Abbott.
