A Texas restaurant tossed out a couple who wore face coverings to protect their immunocompromised 4-month-old son — and its owner is defending the move, saying, “I don’t want masks in here.”
Natalie Wester and her husband went to Hang Time Bar & Grill in Rowlett earlier this month with some friends to let loose, but the new parents decided to mask up out of an abundance of caution due to their at-risk child at home, who has cystic fibrosis, KTVT reported.
“If you’ve ever been new parents, having those couple of hours out like once or twice a month is so important for your mental health,” Wester told the station Saturday.
But hopes of a relaxing, stress-free outing were dashed when a waitress told the fully vaccinated couple they’d need to take off their masks as part of the restaurant’s dress code, Wester said.

Even in TexASS, even under Abbott’s regime, there’s no rule against wearing masks voluntarily. For this guy, it’s political; he admits it is. He’s thinks anti-maskers are picked on, so he picks on people who wear masks to get even.

@1 He doesn’t have a sign in the window saying “Masks Not Allowed.” So the people wearing masks don’t know they’re unwelcome in his establishment. They’re ambushed when they walk in the door. Probably thinks he’s “pwning libs” and laughing back in the kitchen while his waitress tells them to leave.

I think the most remarkable thing about the Trump White House primary source document that lays out the GOP plan for seditious conspiracy is the claimed legal underpinning for it.
Essentially, the GOP claim that there exist competing dual slates of electors from 7 states. They base this claim entirely on the fact that on the same day that the state certified electors who won the vote in each of the 50 states met to cast their state certified electoral votes, in those seven states a separate group of people organized by Stephen Miller, some who appointed themselves, some who were appointed by groups of Republicans state legislators entirely outside the legal voting procedures of their own states, met in secret and cast votes for Trump.
This is pure Sov Cit Batshittery.
It’s the equivalent of a PTA declaring war on behalf of the U.S. or attempting to mint their own currency.
And it’s the fundamental “legal” underpinning for the GOP’s plan to seize the government on Trump’s behalf. They hated losing so much they decided to ignore it and have their own election for Republicans Only. Then they enlisted a half dozen Republicans Senators to promote the false claim and tie up the ceremonial electoral vote count long enough to allow the sedition mob to breach the Capitol.

Neither Burka Bob nor really any other Republican who asserts and supports claims of secret, self-appointed “Electors” to choose the next President can be safely relied upon to judge “lucidity”.
I remember once long ago, while interning, reviewing and summarizing notes on a criminal fraud defendant from an examining psychiatrist. The phrase that struck me and stuck with me ever since was “(Individual C) presents well, however…).
What followed was a recitation of profound florid delusion that was to that point entirely unknown to the court. Genuine Chuck Barris type stuff.
This is probably where we are at with Republicans at this point. We have to look beyond the surface rhetoric and examine what’s going on behind all that. When you see prominent, capable, and highly respected legal pros like Sidney Powell disintegrate into the babbling pile of irrational conspiracy woo, then you know something is up.
I’m not really sure what has broken them all. But broken they are. Entirely broken. They may “present well, however…” when you look under the hood it’s pretty much 100% JOO SPACE LASERS.
These people are not reliable judges of “lucidity”. They probably are not reliable judges of what day it is.
