I’m not sure if any of it makes any sense. But if the Republican arguments are “logical” than all the real “vandalism” was already done when: the Republican controlled Senate simply refused to take up a Supreme Court nominee in 2016, and then railroaded one through in 2020 in while simultaneously hatching a plot to overturn a democratic election. These are permanent and irreversible acts of “vandalism”.

As I acknowledge, Newt, it’s a wholly unconstitutional suggestion. Although we know from the Giuliani/de Blasio example that stop-and-frisk reduces crime, don’t we? We know that Shot Spotter technology aids the police in finding sources of gunshots, don’t we?
The difference between us, Newt, is that the approaches I would support, while definitely or perhaps unconstitutional, effectively reduce crime. The approaches your side supports – McDonald and Heller – take guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens, and are therefore unconstitional as well as ineffective.

That’s the only place I looked. You had me missing Spottswoode – last bottle I opened was in ’19, and it was a 2011.
Back in ’02 we were on vacation in Key West and went into a wine shop. They had five bottles of ’99 at a price so low I was convinced they didn’t know what they stocked. Our souvenirs were a half-dozen conch shells and those five bottles of 1999 Spottswoode.
Recently, aircraft from the HMS Queen Elizabeth launched operations against ISIS. None of the 18 F-35Bs aboard the Carrier, are from the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm. While HMS Queen Elizabeth is the first RN Carrier to send jets into combat since 2000, the combat jets are from 617 “Dambusters” Squadron, RAF, and VMFA-211 “Wake Island Avengers”, USMC. THE RAF jets are part of a Joint Force concept first done as policy under Tony Blair, but done ad hoc during the Falklands.
