Hunter Biden agrees to pay child support to ex-stripper baby mama
Hunter Biden has agreed to pay child support to a former stripper with whom he fathered a child in an 11th-hour deal that allowed him to dodge a public court appearance this week.
The 49-year-old son of Joe Biden was set to appear in an Arkansas court this coming Wednesday to explain to a judge why he wasn’t handing over financial documents in the case.
But Hunter reached a last-minute temporary settlement out of court with ex-lover Lunden Alexis Roberts, with whom he has a 1-year-old child, according to papers filed in Independence County Circuit Court Monday.

The ex-vice president’s son has claimed he’s broke, but he’s renting a Beverly Hills mansion and was recently seen arriving at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills in a Porsche Panamera for lunch with his pregnant wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, whom he wed in May.

Worried Democratic Operatives Scramble to Fund a Network to Take Down Bernie Sanders
The conversations have been driven by fear that Sanders could all but wrap up the nomination early in the campaign without having faced much pushback. Whereas in 2016, Sanders came under a barrage of attacks from Hillary Clinton over his voting record on guns and—more opaquely—the lack of diversity in his political coalition, the senator, who has significantly broadened that coalition since his last bid, has been relatively unchallenged this go around.

Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
Iowa and NH are good clean fun and all. And they can make a huge difference for drawing early attention to less prominent campaigns. But they won’t tell us who will win the primary and they won’t provide any kind of indication about Democratic voter engagement among the kinds of voters where that engagement can make a difference in November.
First to post in that regard as I see it will be “First in the West” Nevada toward the end of February. It’s a caucus system so a lot of what happens will come down to ground game. Similar to Iowa, it’s a closed caucus but eligible voters may register as Democrats at their caucus and every Democratic caucus in the state will have people standing by for that purpose. It’s an above average blue/pink collar state, union state, and Latino state. It’s pretty close to the US average in age, although it’s younger residents lag behind their peers in educational attainment.
Two things I’ll be interested in looking out for will be a stronger than historic turnout for these caucuses, and if any particular campaign drew that turnout. That may provide some early indications if either Democrats in general are producing turnout among non-participating eligibles, or if a particular campaign is doing that. The other thing I’ll be looking for if we can get it will be caucus attendance by gender, race, and age.

Lobbyist bought tropical land from Biden’s brother
The Virgin Islands land deal, reported here for the first time, furthers a pattern in which members of the Biden family have engaged in financial dealings with people with an interest in influencing the former vice president.
…
The property itself has remained vacant and undeveloped. It is not clear why the lobbyist, Scott Green, purchased the parcel from Biden’s brother James, or why James Biden later went to the lobbyist for a loan, rather than to a bank. An easement James Biden obtained granting road access to the land before selling it to Green may have made the land more valuable, but it is unclear whether the dramatically higher price Green paid for his parcel reflected its true value. The terms of the loan were not disclosed in property records.

One important development in the Republican Drug Deal Senate Trial.
A proceeding is currently under way before a three judge panel in the Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit in which the U.S. House is seeking a limited access to some of the grand jury eye witness testimony collected by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The DOJ has argued in objection to this request that federal rule 6(e) which contemplates the conditions under which gj testimony may be made available does not include Congress hearing or trying impeachment because Congress is not a “judicial proceeding”, but is merely a legislative chamber exercising a political and legislative function.
As part of his closing arguments today in the Republican Senate Drug Deal Trial, super duper smart sexual assault facilitator Ken Starr, serving as The President’s lawyer, made a slightly different argument.
“Rather the Senate is a court. In fact, history teaches us that for literally decades, this body was referred to in this context as “the high court of impeachment”. So we are not a legislative chamber during these proceedings. We are a tribunal. We are in court.”
Now counsel for House managers arguing before the three judge panel is asking for the panel to review the Starr statement made as the legal counsel defending the President. And because the President’s counsel arguments before the Senate so directly conflict with DOJ arguments to the panel, inquire with the DOJ if they wish to make an amended filing modifying their position.
Shorter: very, very, very expensive #owngoal

So, just like he knows that I bareback in the back of an alleyway of a bar with 50 strangers, I know he failed miserably at trying to become a pro athlete. Just like the disappointment of him trying to be a doctor and having to settle.
He seems to settle for a lot in life. Why else would he buy a Horse? There were other ways to make the wife happy – but a horse?
Anyways…..
I don’t understand – a rare accomplishment? Why else then would anyone think that getting an education while being an athlete is even possible. Come on – if you really have brains, studying to be a doctor can’t be much greater than studying to be Structural Engineer.
I mean – it seems to me that if you are an student who is playing sports trying to get to the pros, then you probably shouldn’t be learning anything. I really think that the NCAA should create some type of training camps, and enroll teenagers right from high school and let them hone their sporting skills and give them the training needed to be a professional sports player, and then on the side, if the kid really is interested, give the kid some education. but only if the kid wants to. There’s absolutely no evidence that Democrats will win this November by somehow persuading the voters who gave him that tissue thin margin in those three states to vote for any Democrat.
Trump’s defeat lies in turning out the right people in the right states. Whichever candidate demonstrates the support, the energy, the enthusiasm, and the appeal to bring out large numbers of those voters in those kinds of states will be the candidate most capable of defeating Trump in November.
