    You incorrectly describe the situation. The judge made a ruling and the election commission decided it would wait until after the election before obeying the ruling.

    It wasn’t about “immediacy”. It was about a decision to delay for more than a year before following the order.

    The commission wanted to wait until after the November 2020 presidential election before removing anyone because of inaccuracies found while previously attempting to identify voters who may have moved.

    Like every other case. Petition to appeals court for stay pending appeal was in process when the judge decided to cite for contempt.

    What was the Judge’s hurry? Why find contempt for failure to comply BEFORE the appeals court ruled on the stay/appeal? Why was THIS case not eligible for the normal appeals process according to MAGA judge. (I know the answer. You know the answer.)

    Dumbfuck world. Defendant ordered to pay plaintiff $250k.
    defendant files appeal. Defendant required to deposit $250k in plaintiff accounts that will be given back if the appeal is successful. That’s TOTALLY how it works. Failure to deposit the $250k in plaintiff account is contempt of the ruling.

    Appeal granted, stay of ruling (totally expected and a lower court judge would have known that was likely to happen) contempt citation is no longer valid…..see appeals court.

    Can you cite precedent for a judgement being fulfilled before the appeals process has been completed?

It’s not like they just let any LGBTQ person off the street, take a kid. In WA it was a 40 hour class and a home study and written essay and other barriers. You have to want a kid AND prove to the agency that you could handle it.
    LGBTQ families are usually the parents of last resort, who get offered the hard luck cases, or the kids with issues, or potentially drug affected, or are male, or not babies, or are a minority, or the sibling sets. They get the kids the straights don’t want.
    You don’t see the religious bigots stepping up and adopting these kids. Those kids are going to age out of foster care and the religious bigots could care less so long as they can make LGBTQ people cry.

    It is possible to know that all of these products of millennia of patriarchy are fucked up while acknowledging these issues do exist.

    Best line of the night was Bernie pledging to fight hard for the nominee while hoping it’s him. There’s a lot of people who haven’t forgiven the Bernie Bros for the all or nothing approach and in 2016 Bernie didn’t head that off. He moved from the acceptable list to I could vote for him in the primary depending on who is still around by then. Still not my first choice.

The call was for assistance removing a motorist from their vehicle. The early arriving deputy waited with the highway patrol officer for the other two deputies who each arrived separately.

    In other words, it is about as random a sampling of the LEOs on duty that night as you could get. So it’s not about “bad apples”. This is what they do. This is what we pay them to do.

    Guy was going too slow on the interstate.
