But I don’t understand this fascination with the idea of one of the Dem candidates having to include someone who is black. Does this mean that those same people would be barking that the eventual nominee isn’t black if ten black men/women and one white man/women were vying for the nomination and the white guy won it?
Were dealing with an alternative party that has much less ratio of black, gay or female representatives in DC compared to Democrats.

You see, being an entire political party devoted to the idea that race (or gender, or ethnicity, or sexual orientation, etc.) correlate precisely with ideology (and in fact, at this point serve to stand in place of ideology) Republicans are unable to even conceive of a candidate being able to sincerely support diversity, inclusivity, or tolerance unless they personally stand to gain some advantage from it.
It’s really no different from their approach to taxation and civic investment. Anything that does not offer some specific advantage to them personally must be regarded as an effort to annihilate them. In other words, pure nihilism.

Actually I kind of like the way Yang came across in some of the debates, and I didn’t even get to watch any one of the debates in full. I like the idea of a fresh new face with liberal leaning values as a leader, who can bring new progressive ideas to the table and has smarts and class to his demeanor, unlike the fucking lying corrupt pig that we have now.
