That track record is undeniable. As are the body piles, the broken regional security alliances, the lost savings and retirements, and the soaring debt. Republican voters are the greatest existing threat to our nation.
@2 It’s tempting to think they’re deliberately misgoverning in order to prove government doesn’t work and everything should be left to the for-profit private sector, but I think it’s simpler than that, they’re simply porch pirates looking for things to steal.

I think it’s important to recognize that for Republican voters performance in governance is entirely irrelevant. Teh Dumbfuck, Pork Sauce, PI and Every Republican You Know didn’t vote for Donald Trump with any real expectation that a bloviating television reality celebrity in decline could competently govern.
But that’s really only part of what makes them an existential threat to America. I think the greater threat is their fear. They will sacrifice anything, sell out anyone, and betray or abandon any principle you can imagine to avoid losing to “a liberal”. That fear of losing is all that unifies and drives them now. And it leaves them completely unmoored from any legal, moral, or ethical norms and principles.

@4. I agree that fear motivates most of them to burn our country to the ground. Fear of change, fear of losing privilege, fear that somewhere someone they think is inferior is being treated as an equal, or even better than them. The other is greed. They are pissed that any of their money might be going to someone who isn’t them. The one trumper I facebook with, starts every justification with “Liberals made my health insurance more expensive, therefore… brown toddlers must be tortured in cages.” and so on.
In February of 2011, according to FOX and the GOP, expressing verbal support for the removal of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was legal grounds for impechment.
