Elizabeth Warren stands by account of being pushed out of her first teaching job because of pregnancy
Warren’s changes in phrasing when discussing her dismissal have sparked questions about her story’s veracity. Fox News has cited the 2007 interview as a contradiction with her more recent statements. The Washington Free Beacon reported on a transcript from contemporaneous local school board meetings, also obtained by CBS News, which said Warren was rehired that spring and that the board “accepted with regret” her “resignation” the following summer.
In fact, the school board minutes show that the board voted by unanimous roll call to extend Warren a “provisional certificate” in speech pathology.
Local newspaper reports from 1971 also present reasons for her leaving the school alternative to what she describes on the trail. The Paterson News, a local paper, reported that summer that Warren was “leaving to raise a family.” The next month, a story about the school board hiring a replacement said Warren had “resigned for personal reasons,” even though the board had voted to “appoint” Warren to the same speech pathology job that April, according to an earlier report.

Tom Harkin claimed to have flown combat missions in ‘Nam. Nope, he hung out in Japan and the Philippines during that period. Richard Blumenthal claimed to have served in ‘Nam, when the truth is he received multiple deferments prior to cooling his heels stateside in the reserves.
Warren is a smart woman. She is smart enough to know that she can’t pull this shit without getting caught.

He spoke out against discrimination of Muslims, African Americans, and Gay people. But he would also challenge the gay community as hypocritical. His posts were provocative and exchanges of disagreement or agreement would then occur. A lot of his arguments were how money and greed “suppress” minorities. Oil, etc.
Anyways, one day he posts how gay people are hypocritical and shouldn’t be fans of Beyonce because she did a concert somewhere in Saudia Arabia or some Middle Eastern country, and she sold out the people that support here, blah, blah, blah.
I didn’t reply, I never really replied to his stuff, I read it, thought about it, disagreed, or agreed and then moved on. But anyways I wanted to tell him how Soccer Fans, more so in Europe and countries where he came from are the biggest racists, bigots, neanderthals, and thugs going. But I didn’t, but I did de-friended him from that point forward.

So aside from how painfully obvious it is that Trump supporters and Trump2020 are now pushing this story just as she is beginning to emerge from the polling field, is the rather sad truth that most older white men really don’t get it and may never.

Non-whites, on account of their race, were forbidden to live in safe neighborhoods with good public schools.
Women, on account of their gender, were forbidden to obtain credit.
And yes, absolutely, women were routinely dismissed from employment for being pregnant, teachers especially. Administrators, some of them women, argued that a pregnant woman in the classroom woul confuse children and raise issues having to do with reproduction which was a conservative political culture wars cudgel at the time.
Guess what? Most women and non-white voters already know all about this shit. It resonates very keenly. Mocking the struggles of two thirds of all voters has become reflexive for Republicans. Interesting. If they succeed (which I doubt), it’ll be a bonanza for lawyers. They’ll create a whole new cause of action called “tortious credit denial.” Think of the possibilities if refusing to lend to deadbeats becomes actionable. There are literally millions of potential new cases out there.
