But that isn’t at all bad. Recall that one of the principal and most persuasive articles for Nixon was obstruction of Congress, based on his deliberate efforts to conceal, withhold, and destroy evidence of his own impeachable offenses.
And allowing the process to linger into next spring has political timing advantages, as well. Again, I think it’s best to look at it like a grand jury process. All the potential evidence of the specific suspected crimes you are investigating needs to be produced and presented. So that obviously will involve direct testimony from the involved parties. And it will also involve some production of records. There will have to be some judicial review applied to questions of executive privilege and perhaps records classification.
Finally, so far at least the certainty of impeachment has not had the effect a defense attorney might hope for in a client. And president peepee, along with at least one of his lawyers, continue to make public statements, including naked threats, that contribute to his appearance of guilt. Giving him more time to self-implicate seems like wise strategy.

Moreover, cd is not some clean cut, black or white instruction when formulated properly in a jurisdiction like Texas. The jury should still consider the duty to comprehend the circumstances and from that a potential duty to retreat before applying it as a dispositive defense. Here goes my one and only sympathetic comment about Amber Guyger.
Like as not, had she been otherwise identically situated, but not a cop, and therefore never having been put through all that tactical/situational training, Mr. Jean might still be alive.
And I mean identically situated. Imagine someone exactly like Guyger in the exact same circumstance, wearing the same kind of tactical gear, with the exact same marksmanship and firearms training, but not the tactical training, they might not have fired. They might not have been as aggressive in that situation.
Police tactical training is probably partly to blame here. And if one result of this is that police departments reconsider the tactical training they provide to police officers that would make us all safer, including the police. People should not be dying over this kind of shit.

I think there’s a good possibility that these foreign trips all last week and all this week are the product of the complaint and impeachment. But not quite in the way that the media suppose.
These guys aren’t hiding out from DC media or even Trump. They knew this was coming. They knew one week after the call when the CIA General Counsel brought this to their attention before the “urgent concern” complaint was filed with the ICIG. They’ve had months to prepare and engage in a response. Just think about some of the things that have gone on since the beginning of August. I think what we are soon to discover is that a big part of that response has been to accelerate the smear project. The loyalists are going all in on Ukranium One.
And that comes in a few parts. One is the Shokin angle. Another is the Crowdstrike angle. And still another is the Manafort angle. The Shokin myth needs some shoring up from EU adjacent sources. So Javanka, Barr, Giuliani, Mulvaney, Mnuchin, Pence and Pompeo all engaging in frenetic but very private/non-public European meetings is needed to turn up the heat.
The Crowdstrike angle will have to come from Ukraine. But it certainly appears from their end like the Ukrainians are prepared to deliver if that’s what it takes to keep Russian tank transmissions in park. But conjuring up a reasonably credible source of evidence and a chain of custody, even with Russian assistance, will take a little time. So they best get cracking!
As for Manafort, my guess is he’ll have to wait until after an impeachment vote, so it could be a little while. But as long as he knows his pardon is on its way, he and those like him will stay silent. And once they’ve got enough fabricated Biden/Clinton/DNC “evidence” leaked into Breitbart the pardon can be justified.
I’m not really sure that we can even call this shit a conspiracy, at least not in the colloquial sense, since they are doing all of it out in the open for everyone to see.
