    Amber Guyger trial going super.

    Soooo… seems one of the reasons she parked on the wrong level of the parking garage and walked into the wrong apartment and murdered a terrified sleepy stranger was because at the time she was too preoccupied sexting with her boyfriend and arranging a booty call. She even continued the text exchange after Botham Jean was shot and while he lay bleeding out in front of her.

    Which, maybe, not so sympathetic?

    Idiots should not be police. And in fact, as almost any employer knows, it isn’t that hard to identify and terminate idiots if you actually want to. Perhaps many employers accept and tolerate some number of idiots for various reasons. But where police are concerned there should be no such tolerance.

    So long as the bullshit Thin Blue Line culture persists within police agencies it will remain a fundamental truth that more police equals less public safety. And until things change we all should be calling for fewer police, fewer idiots, fewer Amber Guygers.

    Came out at trial under direct that she and her boyfriend got together the next day and deleted all their texts, although the state was able to recover most of them.

    A thing called “mens rea”. Very relevant in criminal prosecutions. Very admissible. The act of arranging to destroy evidence of the circumstances surrounding a crime in which she was involved tells the jury about the mind of the defendant. Murderers clean up murder scenes. Innocent people who kill in self-defense do not. This will go into the close for sure.

    As the EX VP, Biden is no longer in control of any of his archived communications and a decision to keep them classified or public is the responsibility of NSA/FBI/USSS. As has been pointed out when the Dumbest President alive showed a top secret spy photograph on the Twitter, a President can unilaterally decide to overrule any classification any of those agencies puts in place. Doing so may be monumentally stupid and show our enemies our exact capabilities and resolution of photographs…but it can’t be stopped.

    If there is anything worth releasing there Barr/Donald would have released it or is holding onto it for IF Biden is the nominee.

    For Democrats, the American people, and The Constitution to prevail in the impeachment hearings they must be carefully constructed to produce four outcomes:

    First, as with the previous impeachment of the monstrously corrupt Richard Nixon, they must steadily and convincingly shift wavering public opinion in favor of the investigation and the process. That is already well under way. But they must be disciplined and methodical in order to maintain that.

    Second, they must challenge and effectively diminish Trump’s image as a formidable bully in the eyes of enough Republican office holders and party officials. In order for these Republicans to be prepared to take any side in opposition to Trump they need some reassurance that even after 2020, they won’t be suffering a constant blood letting via Twitter and Facebook.

    Third, they must address and make a compelling case for how Trump’s corruption far surpasses the ordinary, garden variety, “complies with all the norms and legal requirements” style of corruption that DC sadly runs on. Lobbying to and for foreign governments is a thing. A potentially corrupt thing, that we hope to be able to monitor and control by demanding that it be done out in the open and documented. Campaign finance is a thing. A potentially corrupt thing that we hope to be able to monitor and control by demanding that it be done out in the open and documented. Government contracting for services is a thing. A potentially corrupt thing that we hope to be able to monitor and control by demanding that it be done out in the open and documented. Trump, his campaign, and his White House have sought to do all these things out of the light, without reporting, and ultimately for what can only be described as manifestly corrupt purposes. The hearings must show that difference clearly.

    Finally, they have to pare down the trial issues to only the most essential corruption and stick to the facts. They must ruthlessly forbid witness showboating or speeches from the members. Nadler must act as a judge of the trial, and control the hearing proceedings allowing only relevant evidence and testimony, and relying on competent proven career prosecutors to paint in the picture. As a lifelong natural clown, Trump would welcome a fucking circus. They must not give him one in which to perform.

    The overall objective is, of course, impeachment. But we should not hope for a conviction in the Senate. Depending on how things unfold that might be a slim possibility. But realistically the best the American people can hope for from all this is a clear understanding by a decisive majority of voters that this President, with willing support from most of his Republican supporters in Congress, committed unforgivably corrupt acts in office and should not remain. That our House of Representatives led by Democrats, when confronted by these corrupt acts did the right thing to protect us. And that our Senate in the control of cynical and corrupt Republicans refused to do their solemn duty to protect us.

    Happy to see the Dems finally pulling the trigger on the impeachment hearing.

    Trump is a disgrace of a POTUS, no redeeming qualities. However, this new development might be playing into his “victim” persona more than we give him credit.

That way he can really play the “victim” card and resign because that will look better than getting his ass kicked by a Dem in the election. Fat-Donny can’t stand to lose.     Another thing that comes through in the White House transcript is that ZelenskyY is an even bigger fucking dumbfuck. Aside from lustily gobbling down gallons of orange throat yogurt in desperation for his weapons to hold The Russian Federation at bay, he appears to completely mis-read GOP president RusianCorruption.

    He complains about lack of sanctions enforcement to the puppet Putin hired to remove the sanctions. But he segues that directly into his appeal for the Javelin anti-tank missiles. And GOP president RussianCorruption counters with his demand for the smear.

    I doubt Zelenskyy will survive this. If enough Republicans in the Senate don’t snap out of it, Ukraine itself might not survive this.
