Oh, look. That GoFundMe group y’all was bitchin’ about for not building the wall they said they would build is building the wall they said they would build.
A private group announced Monday that it has constructed a half-mile wall along a section of the U.S.-Mexico border in New Mexico, in what it said was a first in the border debate.
The 18-foot steel bollard wall is similar to the designs used by the Border Patrol, sealing off a part of the border that had been a striking gap in existing fencing, according to We Build the Wall, the group behind the new section.

I bet they could have saved even more money had they used those Solyndra tubes instead of steel bollards, amirite?
Former Trump adviser Steven Bannon, who chairs the advisory committee for the group, told CNN that the wall had connected two sections of existing fencing that stretched for 21 miles.
“Border Patrol told us it’s the No. 1 most important miles to close. The tough terrain always left it off the government list, and that’s what we focus on — private land that is not in the program and take the toughest first,” Bannon said.

Martin Luther King Jr ‘watched and laughed’ as woman was raped, secret FBI recordings allege
But the FBI tapes may lead to reassessment of a man whose Christian faith was credited with inspiring his belief in peaceful civil disobedience.
Michael Mosbacher, the acting editor of Standpoint magazine, which is publishing Mr Garrow’s article about the files, said the files reveal MLK as “the Harvey Weinstein of the civil rights movement”.
“If public figures are now all – rightly – subject to scrutiny, there should be no exception for Martin Luther King, however worthy his other activities were,” he writes in the June issue.

Some days are harder than others for me to gin up that mutual respect, Steve. This is one of the harder ones.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Clark County’s Don Benton, completely in keeping with his character and temperament, is not only willing but eager to be Trump’s loyal little suckup.
For now, Benton is running the Selective Service (yes, we still have draft registration in the USA). When he was appointed to run that agency in 2017, the first thing he did was impose a dress code on its female employees that would do Annie Wright proud. That lasted all of two weeks.
Inevitably, that morphed into major morale problems, where career employees say a climate of fear and distrust now pervades the agency.
And then there’s this:
“All presidents fill out their administrations with political appointees, but Benton’s lack of military experience made him an unusual pick to head the Selective Service, which is a civilian agency but has been led by men with lengthy military careers. Benton briefly joined the Army in the 1970s and completed basic training in California, but quit after he says he was not put into a training program he’d been promised. He went to community college instead, and started his political career as a student trustee.”
“Quit because he wasn’t put into a training program he was promised.” Huh. Benton was born too late for Vietnam (he was 11 years ago when Tet happened), so he had the opportunity to serve in a peacetime army, but bailed because he didn’t get the training he wanted. The guys of my generation who were drafted into the infantry and sent to Vietnam would laugh at that (if they could; tens of thousands of them can’t, because they’re dead). What a fucking pussy.
“Elected state Republican Party chairman in 2000, Benton was ousted eight months later after angering some party leaders by firing staff, changing the locks on the offices and unilaterally trying to move the party headquarters. In 2013, he compared a fellow GOP state senator, Ann Rivers, to a ‘trashy, trampy-mouthed little girl’ after she swore at him during an argument in a caucus meeting.”
Fuck. The guy can’t even get along with his fellow Republicans. They can’t stand him, either. He does, however, embody the disrespect and disdain for women that Trump highly values, so it’s quite natural that those two men would be attracted to each other. Doctor Dumbfuck probably would like him, too, if not for fucking purposes then at least for getting drunk together.
Now hear this: Benton is suing Clark County for emotional distress for reorganizing him out of a political job that was created especially for him. He’s a melting snowflake, too.
“Benton ingratiated himself with Trump by leading his 2016 campaign in Washington state at a time when many elected Republicans were shunning the New York developer and reality TV star.”
For whatever that was worth; Trump got less than 37% of the vote in Washington, and less than 22% in King County.
“After the election, Benton was tapped as a senior White House adviser and led a ‘beachhead’ transition team at the Environmental Protection Agency. He exited that role amid media reports he’d annoyed then-EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and his aides by piping up too often with odd comments. The Washington Post reported Pruitt and his aides started freezing Benton out of meetings. Benton … was appointed Selective Service director in April 2017, placed in charge of an agency with a $25 million budget and 125 full-time employees.”
In other words, he was exiled from an important agency where he blew his opportunity to impress Trump officials to a tiny inconsequential agency where he’s safely out of the way.
And now he thinks he’s going to be Trump’s chief of staff? Dream on. Don Benton is, always has been, and always will be a joke.

Meanwhile NPV looks good to break the 200 EV threshold this year. And the difference between president fuckface and NPV is that all he can do is make threats and lose in court. While Republicans have been busy choke-fappping to violent images of Rape Cages and homeless vets being set on fire for sport, NPV has been delivering steady, permanent progress for more than a decade.

… NPV has been delivering steady, permanent progress for more than a decade.
Yeah, sure.
And the ERA has been delivering steady progress for nearly five decades now.
On March 22, 2017, 45 years to the day after Congress passed the ERA, Nevada became the 36th state to ratify it. On May 30, 2018, Illinois became the 37th state.

Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
I truly hope, and it appears to be true, that national Child Molesters are ignorant of the demographic and electoral bind they are in with respect to NPV and the electoral college. It helps a lot that national media dupes, who consistently misunderstand NPV, continue to keep their focus on the disproportionate GOP advantages built into the EV.
Of the ten fastest growing states, five are in the hands of Democrats, four are swings, and only one is reliably red. Of those same ten fastest growing states, four are already in the NPV as of this year, and two more are expected to join in before the 2024 cycle. Make no mistake, NPV has a climb ahead. But it is a climb that is leveling out every year. Steady gains in states like AZ, MI, WI, and NC along with changes in population distribution following the 2020 census put NPV within striking distance sooner rather than later.
National opposition to NPV, that was once well funded and highly coordinated has collapsed in the era of Trumpism. The general dog-fucking chaos that has been unfolding among Republican held state legislatures focused exclusively on useless abortion bans has left the NPV opposition groups on the sidelines.

Still struggling with red/blue? Don’t give up. I know you can do it. You’ve still got time to edit the post.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
That’s part of the beauty with NPV. It goes into effect when it goes into effect. Could be tomorrow. Could be twelve years from now. No deadline. And once enacted in a state, it requires specific legislation to repeal. No momentum for that in any of the states that have passed it. No interest. Not even legislation introduced. Again, there has been fund raising. Of course there has. No Child Molester ever let an opportunity to grift for a speed boat pass. But other than emptying your retirement accounts, it goes nowhere. A small group in CO is trying this year. But the effort is fragmented owing to a bit of overreach as some of the same folks are trying to tie it to a statewide recall effort of D lawmakers (like I said, dog fucking). And it appears the best they can hope for is to get something on the ballot in 2020. Not great timing.
Most of the time, once we win, you sad, pathetic, crybabies just go away. Forever. Between the way NPV opposition just melts away the minute legislation gets signed, and the way you idiots consistently misunderstand the way it works, we really owe you. You guys are a big part of what makes the progress permanent.

“Pregnancy Kills, Abortion Saves Lives” is the headline from a New York Times op-ed written by late-term abortionist Warren M. Hern. Dr. Hern is the author of a book called Abortion Practice.
Excerpts:
“As the calvaria (skullcap) is grasped, a sensation that it is collapsing is almost always accompanied by the extrusion of white cerebral material from the external os (bone).” P. 142.
“Fetal tissues are significantly softened, permitting easy dismemberment and removal.” P. 145.
“At 14 weeks fetal age, tissue is more likely to become lodged in the cannula (suction tube). When this happens, it is a good procedure to put the suction tip aside and proceed with the forceps.” P. 147.
The mechanics of killing innocent human beings doesn’t get any easier as pregnancy advances. One begins to understand why these hired killers charge more to abort in those later stages. As the unborn reaches the point of viability, things get particularly difficult:
“The procedure changes significantly at 21 weeks because the fetal tissues become much more cohesive and difficult to dismember.” P. 154.
“A Long curved Mayo scissors may be necessary to decapitate and dismember the fetus.” P. 154.
“An eight-inch curved Mayo scissors is used to dissect fetal tissue a little at a time.” P. 156.
Given the additional fact that the maternal mortality rate is only about 20 per 100,000, perhaps a more accurate headline would have read:
Pregnancy gives life 4999 times out of 5000.
Abortion brings death 5000 times of out 5000.
