    Saw Pete Buttigieg on Rachel Maddow last night. He spoke in complete sentences. Only been married once. Served in the military, didn’t try to get out of it. Came across as a pragmatic progressive.

    Freedom must includes a discussion of responsibility with that freedom.

    You know, it’s actually rather important to get this shit right.

    While it’s perhaps not too great a concession to allow for Morning Consult editor’s choice of words “inappropriate behavior” in this case, it is at this point a stupid concession to conflate whatever that behavior is with sexuality.

    Despite the fever swamp mash-ups, PhotoShops, and video edits, there’s nothing so far about what Biden is alleged to have done that is sexual. He certainly isn’t accused of beating up wives and girlfriends, finger raping beauty pageant contestants, or hiring dozens of hookers. He’s groped nobody. Instead, Biden appears to be a kind of passive aggressive bully who is fairly insensitive to the body boundaries of other people. He “cares too much” and in doing so he belittles and demeans people. He’s George W Bush massaging Angela Merkle’s shoulders.

    But that kind of thing is a far away from sexual assault as Jared Kushner is from a peace plan. College football coaches who grab player’s face masks whether yelling at them or congratulating them suffer from the same blind spot. Joe Biden is to Jimbo Fisher as Donald Trump is to Jerry Sandusky. Most women get this.

    Demeaning coworkers and subordinates is not criminal sexual assault. But it is still inappropriate. And you are very wrong to imply or assume that a gay man is not capable of demeaning his subordinates in this way.

    That’s the easiest of all discussions about health care. Currently, private insurance companies skim something like 28% of every health care dollar off the top. Those dollars deliver no health care, they just pay for administrative costs and insurance execs’ inflated salaries and bonuses.

    By contrast, Medicare’s administrative costs are around 1.5%. This means that switching to Medicare For All would save about 25% of health care costs right up front. That money could be used to reduce premiums, cover the uninsured, and/or expand coverage and improve quality of care.

    But health insurance stocks would tank. Medicare For All would spell financial disaster for shareholders of companies like United Healthcare and CVS. Which, perhaps, explains why Doctor Dumbfuck doesn’t like Medicare For All. Probably a bigger factor in his dislike of MFA, though, is simply that he’s a prick.

    His specious bullshit implies that somebody else is paying for it currently. That fundamentally false premise is at the heart of why our system is so fucked up, and why we’ve allowed it to get that way when every other advanced society on earth has already fixed this shit a long time ago.

    Not only are we already paying for this, but we are being dry ass fucked in the bargain. We pay twice as much, and we get half as much. The current system has been carefully engineered to benefit insurance companies and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The benefits to patients are so far down the pecking order they don’t even register.

    Next Teh Dumbfuck will do “choice”. Which as every employee knows is also distilled pure bullshit. Most of us have had to change doctors at least every few years as our employer provided plans are “optimized”. Now play around with the farcical notion of “choice” in a marketplace where consumers are forbidden to know prices before agreeing to a purchase. And legally prohibited from challenging a price afterward.

    There’s a very good reason a FOX audience leapt to their feet to applaud a socialist when asked about health insurance.
    And Teh Dumbfuck is absolutely incapable of understanding that reason.
