Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
Hey all you active duty mil service members from Florida!
Your good pal President BoneSpurs is going to honor you for your service by tossing your absentee ballots into a trash barrel fire.
Isn’t that awesome?
Do you feel honored?
Republicans don’t even want to count your bodies. Why would they want to count your ballots?
Thanks for your service!

Keeping America Fat Forever
https://apple.news/AwtRBPbC-S7a-mdgg0a7RLg
Because of The Hump Trade Wars, American farmers are exporting less hogs, so they are now cheaper here and stores and restaurants are now pushing fat versus lean meat.
Eat it up you porkers!
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
A pretty good distillation of the turnout from a Republican strategist available here:
http://www.evansiegfried.com/2.....e-numbers/
Really confirms that mobilization produced increased turnout that changed the composition of the vote.
However, I would quibble a bit with at least one of his conclusions. He states, “While Republicans gained at least two seats in the United States Senate and arguably ended the rural Democratic Party, the data points to the blue wave being quite real.”
I’m not so confident about his belief that Republicans experienced some kind of rural wavelet and ended Democrat’s rural opportunities.
Take a look at this spreadshhet from Cook:
Link to Google Doc
Following the next to last column on the right displays vote swing from 2016. Some of the biggest +D swings among non-incumbents are in rural districts where a) Dems fielded good candidates, b) Republicans fielded freaks wedded to Trumpism, and c) our candidates focused on mobilization.
These races are a playbook for how to exploit Trump while we still can.
Roger Rabbit spews:
“The Anti-Defamation League, which tracks anti-Semitic behavior, found the number of anti-Semitic incidents in the U.S. rose from 1,267 in 2016 to 1,986 in 2017 – a 57 percent increase and the largest single-year increase on record.”
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/baraboo-high-school-nazi-salute-photo-student-refused-to-participate/
Roger Rabbit Commentary: Hmmm ….. 2016, Trump not president; 2017, Trump president ….. but that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a correlation there. I’m really not sure what to make of this. I know white supremacists feel empowered by Trump,
https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/12/politics/white-supremacists-cheer-midterms-trump/index.html
and some are into Nazi symbology, so there could be a connection.
Roger Rabbit spews:
‘Course, it could be just better reporting, too …..
“Hate crimes in the U.S. rose about 17 percent in 2017 compared to the previous year, according to data released Tuesday by the FBI. The … report [of] incidents reported to the federal government by law enforcement agencies, shows 7,175 hate crime incidents in 2017 compared with 6,121 incidents in 2016. The FBI notes, however, that the number of law enforcement agencies reporting the crimes also increased ….”
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/fbi-hate-crimes-increase-report-today-2018-11-13/
Roger Rabbit Commentary: I don’t know what to make of this. I kinda expected racially-motivated hate crimes, at least, to drop after the, you know, in the White House left. I kinda thought these folks would settle down a little after the White House became white again. Kinda inexplicable this kind of acting out keeps going up. I s’pose it’s possible the current occupant isn’t having much calming influence on them.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
4,
We want to be careful we don’t mix cause and effect here.
Another possibility is that President FingerRape is elected because of a huge change of attitude among the 63 million aging, impotent, beer drunk, ignorant, oxy crushing trailerbillies who elected him. I don’t blame Trump. I blame the people who allowed themselves to be manipulated into voting for him by pale, scabby Moldovan script-kids. And I blame the conservative elites who carefully engineered the 2016 Republican primary as a contest to proclaim the most accomplished Birfer-Racist.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Well, Darryl, the election results do look “finer” than they did a week ago, to wit:
“One week ago, Senate Democrats looked to have been routed … by their Republican counterparts. Democratic incumbents in North Dakota, Indiana and Missouri had all lost. Republicans led in Florida, Nevada, Montana and Arizona. … Boy, can a week change things. … At the moment, Democrats have lost a total of one seat …. The worst they will do is a net loss of two seats …. The best-case scenario for Democrats … is a net gain of a single seat [if] Nelson … comes from behind in Florida and Espy wins … in an overwhelmingly Republican state.”
https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/13/politics/senate-democrats/index.html
Roger Rabbit Commentary: Things have changed since Election Night — from an apparent GOP pickup of 7 seats to 2 seats at best with a possibility the Dems could gain a seat. Wow. I hope none of my fellow Democratic party hacks prematurely committed suicide, because you really do have to wait until the votes are counted, notwithstanding that Republicans are vociferously against that, except when they’re behind. But maybe there’s more than just that going on here. This sure is starting to look like divine intervention to me, which suggests some of my friends perhaps should rethink atheism, i.e., if a higher power is indeed intervening here, then gratitude on our part certainly is in order, and gratitude obviously begins with recognizing the higher power’s existence. (Note: I know the Great Mother Rabbit Spirit is out there, because She speaks to me in the wind and swaying grass; I’ve always been a spiritual rabbit.) The outcome we see now just looks too improbable to be a result of random molecule collisions. But wait, there’s more! We’re still behind in Florida and Mississippi, but if there’s an almighty power that doesn’t want Trump to be president and Republicans running our country — and it’s hard to imagine a rational, reasonable, almighty power that would — then said almighty power is going to flip those races our way, too. What I’m saying is Florida and Mississippi just might be a sure thing. And if so, then Trump is very likely on his way out, too, and as you know an almighty power doesn’t need impeachment or Twenty-Fifth Amendment to make that happen. It can be done by divine decree. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what unfolds by the hand of a far greater power than man or rabbit. Down here on earth, I’m just a curious spectator.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@1 Based on an informal poll of my local veterans group, I understand why Trump doesn’t want military and veteran ballots counted — his support level is under 5% in my group — but this is Seattle not Florida and I don’t know how things are there.
I’llHaveAPilsner spews:

Roger Rabbit spews:
@2 It’s a Trump tactic to starve out the Muslims.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
There’s an explosion of “reporting” from “confidential sources inside the White House” this morning all concerning the imminent dismissals of key national security officials.
And literally all of the sourcing is originating from the First Lady’s office concerning butt hurt feels over airplane and motorcade seating arrangements and access to National Security Council communications and security resources.
It is variously reported that either the Deputy NSC Director or CoS Kelly, or both will be fired today. Because Melania’s girlfriends didn’t get comfortable enough seats and weren’t allowed to update their Twitter status in-flight. And Sanders will lie about this. And Republicans will defend it all. While Kim is building more and better ICBMs.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@3 It’s also not clear that Republicans gained 2 Senate seats, but it is clear they didn’t get more than two.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
After failing to obtain Republican majority support in the Senate to repeal the ACA Republicans, constantly at war with themselves, turned to a more dangerous tactic. They opted instead to try to dismantle the law piecemeal through dozens of federal lawsuits assisted in part by EOs from President Sundowner and regulatory actions from his kleptocrat kabinet.
If last week’s blue wave wasn’t enough to convince them that this was a self-defeating strategy, it may soon get much, much worse. In June DOJ under Sesh joined in amicus with one these suits challenging ACA’s individual mandate as unconstitutional. In September the state of Maryland filed it’s own separate suit in FDC Maryland asking the court to reiterate the 2012 SCOTUS ruling that the mandates were constitutional and directing the US AG to quit dicking around and obey the law.
But now Sesh is unemployed and busy growing a beard. Which raises a tricky question for FDC Maryland: Who must substitute for Sesh as defendant and respond to the state’s suit? Maryland will file today and they are expected to be joined by a host of other interested parties with well prepared briefs for the court arguing that Rod Rosenstein as the senior ranking Senate confirmed appointee is the Acting AG according to both statute and the constitution.
BulletHead O’RoidRage will have spent just about every fucking spare second since last Wednesday (when he wasn’t tied up trying to figure out the buttons on his phone) huddling with his “team” to prepare his own briefs in response. Anybody wanna go long on his chances? He could always ask Kris Kobach for input, right? Right? Bueller? Mueller?
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
12,
I’m gonna spot ’em Mississippi.
This time.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@13 “If last week’s blue wave wasn’t enough to convince them that this was a self-defeating strategy, it may soon get much, much worse.”
Honestly, I don’t think electoral results make a dent on these people. They’re detached from reality. As of this week, Trump is still out there proclaiming his “great victory.”
If he runs again in 2020 and loses, there’s gonna be a problem when it’s time for the new tenants to move in. The Secret Service may have to physically carry him out.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@14 If you turn out to be wrong, will that mean you won’t be an atheist anymore? See #7 for details.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
15,
The next round of federal elections (excluding runoffs and the specials for the wave of GOP “retirements) is two years away.
I’m happy to see them spending that time damaging themselves as much as possible. I hope it has two effects generally: forcing Senate Child Molesters to pay the maximum price for abandoning their national allegiance in favor of tribalism; and thinning the ranks of potential challengers to President PornAbortion.
We need him on the ballot in 2020. And we need every vulnerable Senate Child Molester indelible smeared with his orange stink. Two more years of humiliating nomination hearings to confirm criminal frauds, rapists, and deeply unqualified party hacks can only help. If the First Lady is getting in on the fun, you know it’ll be a busy schedule.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
16,
If Mississippi elects Espy I might have to buy a trailer.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@18 Of course, if Espy wins, there’s still a secular explanation you could fall back on, namely, the GOP candidate is campaigning on a platform of reviving public lynchings as a spectator sport, which might not be universally popular in a state whose population is 40% black.
Roger Rabbit spews:
So now First Ladies fire national security officials in tiffs over airplane seating?

Roger Rabbit spews:
Dino Rossi is now officially a political gadfly,* although he still needs several more elections to catch up with Richard Pope.
* Wikipedia prefers the term “perennial candidate,” which denotes the same thing.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
What’s going on in Georgia is even more disgraceful than what’s going on in FLA. The time honored traditions of removing POC from the voter rolls and rejecting their ballots in trailerbilly counties goes back to the early days of the civil rights movement. And it’s absolutely true that once upon a time, long, long ago, it was Bourbon soaked bole weevil Democrats who carried it out. But today it is the official position of the Republican Party that darkies must not vote. And when they do, their ballots must be rejected. And under no circumstances will the DOJ lift one single Lilly white finger to stop it. Thank Crom for private groups like Common Cause. At least we have a slim chance of tying them up in court for a while before they begin night rides and burning crosses again.
