    Why bother playing the national anthem at a professional sporting event? Do major businesses play the national anthem before every business day? After all, professional sports is one hell of a big business, and that should preclude all this phony patriotism crap about playing the national anthem.

    Just play the damn game and leave the national anthem for important events.

    @5 It says Trump is up 1 point — something no other poll shows. How credible is a poll that moves 13 points in 1 week? Especially when none of the other polls show anything like that?

    What appears to be actually happening is the latest email dustup is motivating more Republicans to vote, but is not eating into Hillary’s support.

    As for electoral votes, Trump has to win every single tossup state PLUS flip at least one blue state. That’s a steep hill to climb.

    I don’t thinker’s the Russians behind these email leaks against Hillary. Sure, Putin will act the part because he benefits from having ordinary Russians think he’s powerful enough to fuck around in US elections. It’s a fairly easy sell for him because the Russians are still pissed off about the Cold War and love to think that Putin is getting even with us.

    For my money, it’s the NSA and probably the CIA that are behind this email crap. They certainly have the technical ability to do it and make the Russians look like the culprit. Also, they have motive: they don’t like Hillary because of all that shit about classified data and those emails. They don’t want Hillary in the White House, and they’re doing their best to keep her out, utilizing deception, trickery and generally dishonest behavior.

    Well, they are government employees, after all. The thing bureacracies do best is protect themselves from elected government officials.

Current odds are both houses of Congress under GOP control, an incompetent and unhealthy incoming president who will be facing no fewer than five FBI investigations – that we know about – and a recently unearthed trove of emails she knows not the contents of thus far.

    Oh, and #CrookedHillary will be playing defense and obstructing right up to and including the 2018 US Senate elections, in full view of an electorate that increasingly understands that she’s poison and always has been.

    A partnership between political data firm TargetSmart and Williams and Mary College has determined from polling early voters that Hillary Clinton will win Florida.

    It seems Hillary Clinton will win Florida because 28 percent of registered Republicans in Florida have REJECTED Drumpf and voted for Hillary Clinton.

    Sean Trende, as well, sounds a note of caution about reading too much into early voting:
