Along with Clinton’s tax returns, personal financial disclosure reports, and U.S. Senate travel records, the DNC dossier included copies of contract documents related to the presidential candidate’s paid speeches.
In addition to a “standard” $225,000 fee, Clinton required a “chartered roundtrip private jet” that needed to be a Gulfstream 450 or a larger aircraft. Depending on its outfitting, the Gulfstream jet, which costs upwards of $40 million, can seat 19 passengers and “sleeps up to six.” Clinton’s contract also stipulated that speech hosts had to pay for separate first class or business airfare for three of her aides.

A few days ago, we were told $1.2 million of Trump’s campaign spending went to his own companies and family members. Well, guess what, that amount just escalated to $6 million.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: I guess this would be okay if Trump were spending his own money, because then he’d merely be paying himself, but he’s not. Trump, who started off promising a self-funding campaign (you know, the politician who “can’t be bought”) has been notoriously tight-fisted when it comes to using his own money, which is why his campaign is broke. This is other people’s money, and he’s diverting it to himself. Other politicians have gone to jail for this. Just when you thought a presidential campaign couldn’t possibly descend any lower, we may now entertain the not-impossible prospect of the GOP and Democratic nominees becoming cellmates by the time the election rolls around. Surely they’re laughing at us in Somalia.
Roger Rabbit spews:
I can see why the GOP fatcat donors are pulling back. Their money just goes into Trump’s pocket and they don’t even get their bills paid that he owes them. Trump is nothing more than a crass thief.

HA and Washington State Democrats don’t have to sit down and wait for Congress to take our local police departments, Sheriffs, and State Police to give up assault weapons.
This is one of the reasons why the weapons are so popular and really blurs the boundary of what a military weapon is. My local police or Sheriff’s office should not be using any weapon that the local civilian population can use.
The first action is document what weapons Washington State police departments own and are using. How they are using them.
The State legislature, county boards can also determine the weapons appropriate for our police department to have through direct legislation.
Even without direct legislation there is also the power of the purse in limiting purchases of these weapons by police departments.
This is sure to rankle a lot of Shriff’s and more than a few law enforcement officers, but clearly some officers and Sheriff’s would be on board.
I do believe part of problem with mass shooting, police shooting ect is the purveyance of gun culture though out our culture. It send a pretty message when the local cops have a M-4 or other semi automatic in the trunk, or the SWAT team shows up with these weapons. In the vast majority of cases it’s overkill.
It also emphases the good guy with a gun theme. That is what a cop is, but is there a need to emphasize it? It’s not likely that our police would go unarmed, but discussing that possibility is what should happen in a free society. It could happen. Maybe with the state not in panic mode reasonable gun control might happen voluntarily. Or it would have a serious new ally in state law enforcement. This is the possible not that horse manure in the nations capital, and it’s us Washingtonians who can initiate and do this.

@10,
I’ll admit I probably wouldn’t have bothered to read your link, but for your astonishing claim that
” judges are already pushing back on the bill”.
You see, federal judges are prohibited from doing something like that. If they did so it would be very, very big news and it would result in a pretty big media storm and likely the censure and suspension of the judge.
Little surprise then to discover that the opinion piece you linked to has absolutely no mention whatsoever of any judges anywhere voicing any opinion at all about Senator Collins’ bill.
So fuck you. Stop wasting my time.

Roger Rabbit spews:
@11 Your comment revives the age-old debate over whether history is made by circumstances or singular individuals (the “great man” theory). Men like Hitler are products of their times, but also shape their times, and it’s almost certainly not true that history would have followed the same course absent Hitler. The Holocaust was created in his sick, twisted mind. Without someone to consolidate Germany’s political right into a mass movement, the Weimar Republic might have muddled through, or a leftwing party might have displaced it. And there would have been no World War 2 if someone hadn’t plotted it. Nor is it true that all Hitler needed to become a successful artist (and therefore eschew politics) was a scholarship to the Vienna art school that rejected his application; what he needed was talent he didn’t have, plus an economy healthy enough to support a market for artists’ work. So, the answer probably is that while events and circumstances create opportunities for singular individuals, such individuals play a large role in the direction that history takes. Elections and coups make a difference.

Code of Conduct for United States Judges
Cannon 3A(6) A judge should not make public comment on the merits of a matter pending or impending in any court. A judge should require similar restraint by court personnel subject to the judge’s direction and control. The prohibition on public comment on the merits does not extend to public statements made in the course of the judge’s official duties, to explanations of court procedures, or to scholarly presentations made for purposes of legal education.
Cannon 5(C) A judge should not engage in any other political activity. This provision does not prevent a judge from engaging in activities described in Canon 4.
So once again, let me say it: Fuck you.

It isn’t true, of course. The linked article clearly makes absolutely no mention of any judges at all.
@16,
“Even being a level headed libtard at times will get you a FY from the Oregon moron.”
This also isn’t true. A level headed anything does not lie. Being a liar gets you a Fuck You. (Oh, by the way Fuckwad: Fuck you.)
The Fuckwad lies once again.
But it does not rest. It continues to lie again and again. Like its political hero, Cheeto Jesus, the Fuckwad lies with every statement it makes.
I criticized the comment @10 for claiming that judges had “pushed back” against the gun control legislation proposed by Senator Collins currently under consideration in the Senate. As this is merely proposed legislation, there is no active or pending litigation anywhere concerning this proposal. The NRA and gun humping lunatics like that racist Fuckwad cannot challenge something that is not yet a law. So there is no “push back” in that sense, nor can there be. Furthermore, any federal judge bound by the Code of Conduct for United States Judges is prohibited from making unsolicited political commentary about proposed laws. To do so would be a significant violation of the Code of Conduct and would likely be granted review under 28 U.S. Code Chapter 16. It would certainly be newsworthy. So I was surprised to read that in @10. However, of course, there was absolutely nothing to it. Nevertheless the racist Fuckwad imbecile can’t help itself and insists @16:
“Federal judges can push back. Witness Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan pushing back on Crooked Heilary Clinton.”
Stunningly unrelated. Emmet Sullivan is acting in his capacity as a federal judge assigned to hear a case preparing for trial. His rulings regarding pre-trail motions for discovery, etc, in a FOIA slapsuit against the federal government are not political, they do not constitute commentary on law or proposed law, and they are not political advocacy. His rulings are him doing his job. Something rabid “conservative” Republican acolytes of Cheeto Jesus like that worthless racist Fuckwad imbecile are unfamiliar with. So once again, it lies. Over and over again. It simply cannot help itself. Like its deep seated race hatred for Hispanic people, its compulsion to lie is beyond its control.

You add guns to that and some old judge down Texas way is going to rule the process unconstitutional and that circuit will uphold his decision.
I assume you have the capability to do a search and support your position. So fuck you I’m not wasting your time. Now have fun figuring out an answer.
Mark Adams spews:
@16 Well I’m not particularly thrilled with some of the antics going on. Sure a couple of things are good politics. Still you gotta have the votes. We don’t have them without the Republicans being on board to some extent, and there is no middle. Though laws ideally should be constitutional and hopefully legislatures, and Presidents who don’t veto a bill should be concerned about whether the courts will find a bill unconstitutional.
Interestingly there is a LGBT organization on NPR saying gays should arm themselves. One of their mottos is something about an armed gay won’t get beat up. Call themselves the pink pistols or something.
I can see the point in saying the solution isn’t a good guy with a gun, but aren’t the police supposed to be good guys with a gun. Personally I don’t care if it’s the most vile SOB with a gun who puts a stop to a mass killing. Talking has its place in some of these situations, but most likely tragic events will often have a tragic ending. Old saying you don’t take a knife to a gun fight. Only some of us who have served know if all you got is a knife the odds are against you, but if you got not choice make the best of it.
Mark Adams spews:
@18 Actually I do understand them. I don’t expect you to pull out of the market, but most likely that thought might go through your head tomorrow. I won’t be pulling my 501K but I’m looking forward to the opening bell on Friday and all through the day could be very ugly. So yes I will be ignoring, and yes I wish I had a few thousand to invest ohh sometime next week or the week after the shit storm plays out. It probably won’t be a crash, but neither you or I have seen one like the one that happened in October 1929. It took decades before the full recovery, and the rich were still rich, and some bought in, and heck Geico was a company that was created during the depression. So some people had money. If you have extra send some my way. After all casinos let you play with their money to get you in the door.
Course I ain’t opposed to playing some poker nickle, dime, maybe quarter. Guess your able to play with bigger chips well good for you.
Mark Adams spews:
@17 All good points. Are you suggesting you would shoot Hitler rather than some alternative non violent method of sideling him. Perhaps opening his eyes to modern art that he despised. Under the Wiemar Republic there was a flowering of the arts, perhaps not much to Hitlers taste, and a market for art, and he still could have taught or been an art critic which he was. He did have a bit of talent for design, and his plans for Berlin were pretty impressive.
Still you have left out Mussolini and Josef Stalin. That WWI was a poor peace. The radical right and the radical left were fighting in the streets even before Hitler became a household name. The Soviets had huge factories and huge stockpiles of weapons to take on the decadent west. Just purges get in the way of being able to use the peoples military in an aggressive war against the west.
WWI end almost guaranteed another world war. The Pacific theatre was separate. Though perhaps the allies respecting Japan’s contributions and fair dealing in the Hague of their concerns may have helped.
The French and British certainly did not do much to prevent or build a more peaceful Europe after WWI. Not to mention all the fun and games in the Protectorates of Palistine, Syria, Iraq, ect.
Maybe Franco loses in Spain or it doesn’t happen.
My point is even without Hitler WWII would have happened. Probably with Poland being invaded by the Russians and perhaps Communist Germans as you suggested the Weimer Republic cold have been replaced by Communists. Then again perhaps the French and English could have seen the writing on the wall and kept the Weimer Republic from collapsing on itself. Maybe given back the Rhine. Helped out a little.
No war but able to sit in a fab Berlin bar and listen to some jazz and watch some satire make fun of the Bear in Moscow. Germany first to the moon?!? An independent India in 1942?
Is it the individual or events that history is based on. Do politicians really manipulate all the forces successfully? To what ends?
Mark Adams spews:
@19 So you are stating that Federal Judges should just toe the governments line. That what ever the Federal prosecutor or whatever the governments like is what the Judge should follow. Kinda like in China and other countries?
Judges do say things in private, and perhaps we should be concerned about what judges say to maybe Presidents and Congress people in private. Often getting a Federal Judge to say much of anything in public is difficult. Sometimes it’s hard to know what party a particular judge belongs to, but President’s and congressmen and woman know.
And quite frankly most of the time when a judge violates that part of the code of conduct the Supreme Court justices in charge of overseeing such cases go bad judge and slap them on the wrist and they send the judge back to the bench. With their hopes of being on a court of Appeals dashed forever or enhanced.
Mark Adams spews:
@21 Oops my mistake wish I had been a little clearer that Federal Judges are pushing back on Federal Prosecutors on the no fly list. And all the secrecy surrounding it, and are concerned about a little something called due process. Something judges can talk about push on. Sometimes very effectively. Little thing called Miranda rights would not be there except for judges pushing back on prosecutors about due process, and the rights of the accused. Don’t read the suspect his rights, and question him and he walks even if he just did mass murder. Or that is the way it’s supposed to work even in this post 9-11 world or perhaps I’m just naïve.
