I’ve been thinking about this conflict between Trump and Elizabeth Warren concerning the Native American deal. All Warren has to do is take an DNA test from Ancestry.com to show her Native American DNA content. Easy-peasy!
I took the test myself and found out some stuff I didn’t know about my ancestors, such as I have a distant Finno-Russian ancestor from about 1,000 years ago.

Actually, I have about 2.9% Neanderthal DNA. Anyone with Northern and Western ancestry has, on average, about 1.9% Neanderthal DNA, according to Ancestry.com. Asians and Africans don’t usually have any Neanderthal DNA. The highest concentration for Europeans in found in people who have roots in the area near Turin, Italy.
The Neanderthals survived for 250,000 in Ice Age Europe. Homo sapiens didn’t make it to Europe until the Neanderthals had been there for a very long time. Climate change was finally what ended the Neanderthals, as much as anything else. They evolved to hunt and live in a heavily forested, ice age climate.
Elizabeth should take the test herself to see if she’s got some Neanderthal (and thus early European) DNA and to see if she’s got any Native American DNA. If she does have Native American DNA, then she can use it against Trump in her on-going battle with the Donald.
Take the DNA test yourself, rodent – you might be surprised at what you learn.

In my family, we inherited some heirloom items down through the generations from predecessors who did brave things in Maine. The family stories of the bravery and independence associated with those items have been told and retold. As with any oral history, they change over time, but they tell truths, even if they are no long completely true.
Our son is adopted. He’s getting these stories even through he’s not our DNA and he’s going to get the items someday. In a couple more generations, his kids will still have these family stories but no DNA connection. Does that make the stories and the truths of how to act bravely and stand up to thugs and bullies any less true?
If Warren’s test comes back that they couldn’t find Native American DNA, the jackals looking for anything to diminish Elizabeth Warren won’t accept that something got lost or added in the generations of family stories to tell truths. they will just crow that she lied on her college application. They don’t want accuracy, they want to score political points.

Most of the injured veterans organizations that Trump claims he “carefully vetted” were never contacted by the Trump campaign to provide any financial disclosures. Trump just sat on other people’s money for three months and used it to fund his campaign activities.
