Some interesting info on the Bundy Ranch fiasco. This guy openly states that he “isn’t an American” and does not recognize the existence of the Federal government. His “ancestral” claims to the common land he’s been using illegally for grazing his cattle are a complete farce. The BLM has management authority over this property which was turned over to the County back in the 90s, at the County’s request. Public ownership of this land was established under the Gadsden Purchase with Mexico in 1849. It is held in public trust, and he was paying rent to graze his cattle until he decided not to 20 years ago.
