Please join us this evening for a round of political prognostication over a pint at the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally.
We meet tonight and every Tuesday evening at the Montlake Ale House, 2307 24th Avenue E. Our normal starting time is 8:00pm.
Can’t make it tonight? Check out another Washington state DL over the next week.
The Tri-Cities chapter also meets tonight, and every Tuesday night. The Lakewood chapter meets this Wednesday. For Thursday, the Spokane and Tacoma chapters meet. And on Friday, the Enumclaw chapter meets.
With 212 chapters of Living Liberally, including eighteen in Washington state, four in Oregon, and three more in Idaho, chances are excellent there’s a chapter meeting near you.
Wisconsin’s restrictive abortion law appears to be floundering in a federal appeals court.

It wouldn’t matter if the Obamacare website was 100% perfect. The righties would whine about it anyway.
Well Roger SENILE DUMBASS and LUNATIC Wabbit, the law is failing big time. It’s the law of unintended consequences… More than 5 Million more are NOW going to be unemployed due his Obummercare. So today he claimed 500,000 will have insurance on January 1st 2014. Well what happens to the other 90% of now newly uninsured whom his policies threw off their insurance programs because they weren’t Obummercare approved?
You can keep your plan… your doctor… .period. .guaranteed.
Well we can see who profited from liquor privatization:

Screw the little guys, money to the corporations
Piddles…you cam back. I’ll file that 5 million unemployed number you just made up with your travel knowledge.
“Michelle Obama took a trip and I….AM….PISSED! Y’aaargh! for I am puddybud, master of the imagined outrage, ignorer of all fact, King of the unreimburshed travel expense!”

Newsweek To Resume Print Edition
Newsweek magazine will return to print in January, using a business model that relies more heavily on subscription revenues than advertising, similar to the U.K.-based The Economist, according to the New York Times.

@3 “More than 5 Million more are NOW going to be unemployed due his Obummercare.”
Pure unadulterated horseshit. Not surprisingly, Piddles didn’t provide a link for this urine puddle. Because there isn’t one, it’s a fantasy number he pulled out of his ass.
Scott Walker has fired his deputy campaign finance director for making racist tweets. I guess even Walker has boundaries.
Besides Positive Train Control, another mandate facing railroads is the EPA Tier 4 Diesel mandate. There is a growing industry developing ways for the railroads to meet it.
On the passenger/commuter front, Siemens and Cummins are working together on a solution.
http://www.railwayage.com/inde.....channel=35
On the freight rail front, LNG is challenging Diesel’s six decade monopoly.
No, no he doesn’t. If he did something that appeared morally correct, it was undoubtedly for electoral advantage.
Meant to say 5 million uninsured. Glad you DUMMOCRETINS are all in a lather over it.
Puddy lives FREELY in all your small DUMMOCRETIN minds!
Good for you checkmate.
checkmated again!
My my, 2 posts in a row where he concedes defeat. There’s hope for the Village Idiot.
P R I C E L E S S! And he’s Obummer’care’s biggest jockstapping goosestepping brown shirt senator!
Just 3 months ago they were to enroll. So what does Dirty Harry know we don’t eh HA DUMMOCRETINS? Maybe that blogging genius Jon Matheson knows?
So Puddy notices Reid is the juvenile here, still playing juvenile games with Obummer’s “signature” legislation! Great 2014 ads are coming soon!
Surprise surprise surprise… Even Harvard DUMMOCRETINS believe Obummercare will suck.
Did herzog actually say something concrete or useful?
Naaaaah DUMMOCRETIN fart gas!
Oh look, a certain moron will claim this is a Teahaddist web site.
Nope butt he’s a real DOPE, like herzog!
Wow, yesterday Obummer used three N+1 (where was that stooooooooooopid argument previously offered) anecdotes for Obummercare. Remember Octover 21, when that lady fainted in fron of the Outhouse as The Won announced how Obummercare was “working”? Well now it’s six weeks later; maybe Jay Carneybarker and Obummer presumably can find more
anecdoteserrr… people, who have seen the sticker shock through Obummercare.Puddy remembers when HA DUMMOCRETINS would run to Peggy Noonan… Well somehow this was missed by HA DUMMOCRETINS
The headline sez it all!
“Did herzog actually say something concrete or useful?”
As if the Village Idiot ever has.
Oh Piddles? What was the cost of Michelle Obama’s 14 overseas trips you’re all in a daily apoplexy over vs. Laura Bush’s 26? Any proof of you’re wild accusations?
yip…yip…yip, git along ankle biter. I assume your absence for the last few days was spending some quality time with the proctologist getting the imprint of my foot looked at?
Those 5 million uninsured can easily get healthcare by being responsible adults and sign up for Obamacare.
Michael Morton is innocent. He was at work when his wife was murdered. His young son described the culprit to police. But Morton lived in the state with arguably the worst criminal justice system, and he served 25 years in prison because of police and prosecutorial misconduct. He’s lucky he’s not dead, because Texas executes more people than the other 49 states put together.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: The reason I’m posting this is because our rightwing friends would have killed this guy if they’d gotten half a chance. Because they are incurious, don’t ask questions, and are certain of the rightness of their beliefs. Also, they’re not fans of due process, but they are staunch supporters not just of capital punishment but of expedited capital punishment. They don’t want to take the time to examine evidence, or process, for errors. That slows things down too much. They want justice right now!
It’s always conservative legislators who try to pass laws to “streamline” the appeals process and speed up executions. It’s always conservative judges who refuse to reopen cases or look at new evidence (mostly DNA evidence that wasn’t available when the case was tried years ago). Hang ’em high!
This case illustrates why we shouldn’t listen to these people. Or elect them to legislative positions. Or appoint them to judgeships.
Conservatives get big stuff that really matters horribly wrong, time after time. Meanwhile, our friend Piddles worries about how many trips Michelle took overseas.
Conservatives don’t understand foreign policy or military strategy. They don’t how the economy works. They don’t understand our criminal justice system. They don’t understand climate change. Most of all, they don’t understand how much they misunderstand, and how wrong they are about nearly everything.
@23
And we’ve been over that. I’m one of those 5 million that got cancelled. Gasp….My Lifewise Washington Healthy Families plan is cancelled and I’m automatically transferred to Lifewise Washington’s Healthy Family plan that now includes some preventative care mandated by ACA that wasn’t in Lifewise Washington Healthy Families.
Now I could, without being completely full of shit, say that I lost my health plan that I liked due to Obamacare. But then I’d be a brain dead partisan who didn’t notice that my new plan has the same premium and a lower deductible.
“Gah! They cancelled my plan, Y’aaaaargh! Thanks a lot Obamunism!”
Another exhibit on why California is so reliably blue…
The small number of Gerrymandered districts that are safe Republican (About 13 of 53) send idiots like Duncan Hunter Jr. to Congress.
Because nothing will keep our allies (every single one of them but Israel) happier than launching nukyuler weapons. No new Jihadists from all over the Muslim world will sprout up if the U.S. drops a nuclear bomb killing several tens of thousands of civilian Muslims. Nothing like massive bombing to rally the world to your cause
Duncan Hunter, Jr. R-Shitferbrains
Martin Bashir resigns. Why not Limpdick Rush?
Hi Rabbit, Texas would hate this.
@28 See #26. The LAST thing we want to do is give these morons access to the nuclear button.
I’m really having issues with the HA site over the last week. It takes several minutes just to get into the site, then another long wait for the comment thread to open, then another long wait for a comment to post, and the 5-minute time period for editing usually times out before the damn edit window opens. Lots of “Resource Limit Exceeded” fails. It sure looks like the site traffic has outgrown the host server capacity. I appreciate the fact money is an issue, but is there nothing that can be done? The way things are going HA will soon be completely inaccessible.
@30 That’s actually a digression from the point I was trying to make. There is a fundamental problem with the way conservatives think:
1. They’re not curious.
2. They’re not open to new evidence.
3. They’re unwilling to change their minds.
4. They’re convinced they’re right.
5. They’re impatient for action.
See, for example, how Gov. Rick Perry blew off exculpatory evidence in the case of a man about to be executed, and allowed the execution of a man who almost certainly was innocent and is now dead because of an incompetent arson investigation. And then covered up his own incompetence by replacing members of the commission charged by law to investigate the case with cronies he could rely on to blow off the exculpatory evidence again.
We do not want this man to be president. Ever. We do not want anyone like him to make decisions such as whether to use tactical nukes against Iran’s nuclear installations, as some conservatives are now demanding. We do not want someone like Curtis LeMay making the final judgment calls in a situation like the Cuban Missile Crisis; we know now that if LeMay had gotten his way, millions of Americans and Russians would have been dead. We do not want incurious people like George W. Bush making war and peace decisions; the cost to the rest of us is just too high.
My point is that conservatives have a mode of thinking that is fundamentally flawed, leads to egregious errors, and is just plain dangerous to all of us. Conservatives aren’t just doctrinally wrong about things like austerity vs. stimulus, or empirically wrong about whether raising the minimum wage destroys jobs and increases unemployment. They’re dangerously wrong about things that really matter, and they make the kind of mistakes that get innocent people killed. That’s why we have to do everything we possibly can to keep conservatives out of positions of power and responsibility. Because when they’re in such positions, none of us are safe.
@29. Because rush and conservatives are incapable of shame. There is a double standard where conservatives can say anything hateful without consequence.
Headlines on Right Wing Watch
More evidence that America’s cops are out of control, lack common sense, and have turned against the citizens they’re supposed to serve and protect.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: There are probably multiple issues here: The wrong people are being recruited and hired, there’s something wrong with how they’re being trained, there are management issues.
The first time someone uses a nuclear weapon, every regime on earth will insist it needs a nuclear deterrent, and all efforts to contain the spread and use of these weapons will collapse.
That’s why we can’t use nukes against Iran.
By the way, a B-2 stealth bomber can carry a payload of
16 individual 1.2 megaton hydrogen bombs, each capable of obliterating a city.
Posting on HA is so slow today it’s not worth the effort. I’m outta here.
Texas RETHUGS are in a quandary.
Embrace OBAMACARE or face irate constituents.
Who woulda thought?
http://www.dailykos.com/story/.....Texas-Blue
I wonder what RETHUG controlled state is going to be next to embrace OBAMACARE?
Over many decades, the GOP has carefully cultivated its image as a party of fiscal restraint, a party of outsiders, the party of morality, the party of national security, and the party of opportunity. Trouble is, none of those things are true, and voters know it.
http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/06/.....?hpt=hp_c2
Okay, this one’s slightly more understandable — we expect cops to be on the lookout for runaway kids, at-risk kids, and adult exploiters. We want them to check out situations like this. But some situations, in fact, are innocent; and in those situations, police overreaction is still a problem.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/.....mail_share
Oh checkmate… Once again you make up a bunch of smelly manure… Puddy asked you for the proof. Good trainwreck trying to turn the tables. Puddy wrote if Laura Bush’s multiple trips were more expensive than Mrs Obummer’s those facts would be on Daily Kooks, Media Morons, DUmmies, etc. There are none checkmate. Find one! Make Puddy’s day!
Martin The ASSHole Bashir is gone gone gone!
Took forever but he’s gone! One less leftist DUMMOCRETIN ASSHole on the Friday Night Comix!
Weally Roger SENILE DUMBASS and LUNATIC Wabbit… Julian Zelizer? #104 on Journolist?
Facts Roger, the enemy of HA DUMMOCRETINS!
@45 The link says “opinion,” jackass. Do you know what an “opinion” is? An “opinion” is what you spew every time you post, so why do you have a problem with Zelizer writing his opinion? You are an idiot.
A pair of BNSF engineers are suing the railroad over benefits for same-sex married couples. BNSF says it’s a collective bargaining issue. It depends on when the contract is up for amendment(Railway Labor contracts don’t expire), it could be awhile before that can be changed.
http://seattletimes.com/html/l.....n1xml.html
BNSF may be owned by Warren Buffett, but he takes a hands-off approach. CEO Matt Rose pretty much runs the railroad, all Mr. Buffet wants is a reasonable return on investment. Although this might be time for BNSF to look at changing the policy on marriage recognition. They operate in several states and two Canadian provinces, including Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Washington, California, British Columbia, and Manitoba(all states with marriage equality, and in Canada it’s nationwide)
A little background on the Railway Labor Act. It was passed during the Coolidge Administration, and extended to the airline industry during the Roosevelt Administration. Instead of the 5 member National Labor Relations Board, a 3 member National Mediation Board oversees it, and unlike the NLRA, employees still have redress in the Federal Courts.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railway_Labor_Act
The NTSB has kicked the Association of Commuter Rail Employees out of the investigation into Sunday’s crash. The Union Rep held a press conference, which was against the rules. I would be expecting them to do the same to the MTA of their reps spoke to the media.
http://www.railwayage.com/inde.....channel=60 Oops
An American Railroad has received compensation for having it’s concession revoked by the Guatemalan Government. Rail Development Corporation actually has done a good job elsewhere rebuilding railroads in bad shape, even one in the US, and is now operating passenger services in Germany.(Open Access, although competition rules in Germany benefit incumbant Deutsche Bahn)

Salt Lake City will be inaugurating the new S-line streetcar over the weekend. As with most Utah Transit Authority grand openings, it will double as a food drive.

Oh Roger SENILE LUNATIC and DUMBASS Wabbit… You put forth this…
Since you wrote that sentence and now you claim it’s just an opinion… Puddy will concede to you… It’s your WORTHLESS opinion derived by a DUMMOCRETIN who is a known whack libtard!
Thanks for playing!
Hmmm… Very Interesting from Jonathan Turley… DUMMOCRETIN Law Scholar…
Obummer gonna go down as .one. .of. .the. .worst. .presidents. .ever.
Can you say DUMMORETINS, Drink the Kook-aid? Even the pukeheads at PMSNBC are finally acknowledging the polls.
Sad to be a DUMMOCRETIN!

Puddy tried to remove the second entry with this video below but the web site is very slow to respond over the ‘Nets!
Mark Pryor breaking the first tenet of being a DUMMOCRETIN… Invoking God to save your political ASS!
@52 It so happens my “worthless” opinion got elected and yours didn’t, so what does that make your opinion worth?
Puddy, it’s time for you to face facts: You’re a bloviating crackpot, a fool, and a dupe. At least I get paid by the government for being a lunatic. You’re doing it free.
