DLBottleIt’s May Day today, and that calls for a celebration. So you can go all Frenchy-foreigny and imbibe in the pagan fertility celebration or get out your inner-Communist and celebrate International Workers’ Day. (Oh…and if you’re an anarchists, go fuck yourself.)

Either way, when you get done mating/marching, please join us for an evening of political conversation over a pint at the Seattle Chapter of Drinking liberally. We meet every Tuesday at the Montlake Ale House, 2307 24th Avenue E. Starting time is 8:00pm, but a few folks show up earlier for dinner.

Can’t make it to Seattle tonight? There are DLs meeting all around Washington state, including in the Tri-Cities tonight, the Tacoma chapter on Thursday, and South Bellevue, Olympia, and Yakima next Monday.

With 233 chapters of Living Liberally, including twelve in Washington state and six more in Oregon, chances are excellent there’s a chapter close by.

May Day falls exactly half a year from November 1, another cross-quarter day which is also associated with various northern European pagan and the year in the Northern hemisphere, and it has traditionally been an occasion for popular and often raucous celebrations.

    Let’s forget politics for a day and all go pagan instead.

    So on Odumba’s watch we have massive government theft by government employees and Odumba’s Solyndra criminal organization among many others. We have Odumba appointees threatening free enterprise and pulling off the covers on the attitude of big government with the Energy moron.
    Now we have Odumba politicizing killing Osama in a charade that results in this–

    KABUL, Afghanistan – A suicide car bomber and Taliban militants disguised in burqas attacked a compound housing hundreds of foreigners in the Afghan capital on Wednesday, killing seven people, officials and witnesses said.
    The Taliban said the attack was a response to President Barack Obama’s surprise visit just hours earlier.
    At least 17 people were also wounded in the assault, most of them Afghan children on their way to school, the Interior Ministry said.

    What an destructive and incompetent President we have.
