These Guys Gotta Be Republicans …
“The Colombian prostitute who triggered the scandal that has rocked the Secret Service got angry with two agents who refused to pay her full price for servicing the two of them, leading to a financial dispute over between $40 and $60, according to a government source who has been briefed on the investigation. …
“The woman wanted to be paid for serving both agents, the source who has been briefed on the probe told NBC News. Instead, the agents would only agree to split her price ….”

Sen. Conrad backs off
plan to vote on budget
The Hill [Washington, DC], by Erik Wasson
Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) bowed to pressure from fellow Democrats on Tuesday and postponed a committee vote on a 2013 budget resolution, most likely until after the November elections. Conrad on Wednesday will begin a committee markup of a resolution based on the Bowles-Simpson deficit recommendations, but told reporters there is no date scheduled on which the markup vote would occur. “This is the wrong time to vote in committee; this is the wrong time to vote on the floor,” he said. “I don’t think we will be prepared to vote before the election.” …..

Romney Fails To Rebuke Extremist’s Violence-Inciting Remarks
Mitt Rmoney’s campaign has refused to criticize Ted Nugent for calling President Obama and members of his administration “criminals,” labeling the Obama administration “vile” and “evil,” and urging supporters to “chop off the heads” of Democrats in a talk to an NRA group.
Nugent also employed birther language when he told the crowd, “If you can’t galvanize and promote and recruit people to vote for Mitt Romney, we’ll be a suburb of Indonesia next year.”
The Rmoney campaign responded to reporters’ questions by tepidly saying “everyone needs to be civil” without condemning Nugent’s remarks or referring to him by name.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: I wonder what that dead Texas mother gunned down today by a baby-thief would say about the NRA’s position that any yahoo should be able to get guns — if she could talk.
http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_n.....other?lite
I know what the NRA would say about this — they’d say that dead mother should’ve had a gun and shot back. Then we’d have gunfights in parking lots over parking spaces …
Roger Rabbit spews:
According to Huffington Post, Nugent also compared President Obama to a coyote that should be shot.

In an update, Huffpo says the Secret Service is investigating Nugent’s violence-inciting remarks against the President.

Roger Rabbit spews:
@11 Take a break, will ya? Is it news to you that Wisconsin’s GOP legislators tried to pass a law that would allow people to buy guns without a background check and carry concealed guns in public without a permit? And what about the gun-show exemption to background check laws? The NRA has pushed hard to keep that.
Chances are this killer got the murder weapon from her boyfriend, and chances are he bought it at a gun show. In any case, the NRA’s hard push for laws making it easier to buy, sell, and own guns makes it easier, not harder, for criminals like her to obtain guns. That’s my point.

Right wingers who think all Democrats and progressives wouldn’t know how to handle a firearm are deluding themselves. Just because we think it’s whacky for the NRA to dictate national policy doesn’t mean we don’t know how to use firearms.

Sonicsgate to be televised nationally
rhp6033 spews:
It’s worth noting that the Sonics and their move to Oklahoma City (now the “Thunder”) pretty much play out how the money interests handle their businesses and taxpayers over the past couple of decades.
* The CEO complains that the local municipality isn’t giving it the love it deserves, and in “show me the money”.
* The local taxing agencies fall all over themselves in an attempt to satisfy the owner’s demands.
* When it gets to the point where the taxing agencies have to say “no”, then the CEO claims it’s the residents/ polititions/employees/ taxpayer’s fault, and outsources the team anyway.
* The CEO makes a bundle from taxpayer guarantees and subsidies in the new location.
* The CEO never feels he has to deliver a championship, or even a winning team (product). The CEO figures he and his company deserves the loyalty of the communty, no badly how he treats it.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@15 Yeah, why? Where do you think I got my machineguns and bazookas from?*
* Just kidding! That’s a wingnut joke, so don’t call the BATF.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@16 Just because I’m a Vietnam Veteran and former Army weapons trainer doesn’t mean I think everyone should have guns. In fact, my experience with military firearms in actual field conditions convinced me that most people shouldn’t have guns, because they don’t know WTF they’re doing! It’s a competency issue.
Also, there are people who shouldn’t have guns for other reasons — for example, the perp who gunned down a mother in a parking lot while stealing her baby. There is someone who, at a minimum, lacks the good morals and good judgment that society must expect of people who have guns.
The NRA thinks everybody should have easy access to guns. Remember the bumper sticker about how clowns and guns don’t mix? As I recall, that was their bumper sticker. It seems they don’t take their own advice.
