Calif. Group Pushes Bush Monument
San Francisco residents have submitted 10,000 signatures to put a measure on the fall ballot that would recognize George W. Bush’s contributions to our nation’s history. It needs 7,000 valid signatures to qualify. According to Time Magazine,
“The Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco wants to switch the name of the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant to the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.”

House Republicans said companies that made trailers for FEMA aren’t to blame for dangerous levels of formaldehyde in the trailers. They blamed FEMA, the CDC, the EPA, and the federal government in general.

State Department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos said U.S. negotiators are “looking at conditions, not calendars. Two things we’ve made very clear from the beginning of the process — the first is that we’re going to deal as sovereign nations working towards an agreement that satisfies both of our needs, and secondly that we’re not going to be discussing individual parts of this negotiations during the negotiation process itself,” Gallegos said.
Yup, sure sounds like we’re treating Iraq as a “sovereign” nation, what with our refusal to let it govern itself and that sort of thing.
