Seattle needs more public transportation, but light rail is too expensive and will take years to build. Expanding bus service makes more sense.

Roger Rabbit rarely attends DL because the crowds of admiring fans, papparazzi, and process servers are a security risk for important people like The Mayor.

Hey, did you trolls see that new CBS/NY Times poll? Obama 53%, McCain 39%! Your guy is beginning to look like Goldwater — who said “I’d rather be an idiot than president!” or something like that. (This may not be exactly verbatim, but it captures the essence.)

The Truth About Those 1300 Sex Offenders
This statistic includes sex offenders who are homeless, have moved out of state, or weren’t home when detectives stopped by to verify their addresses.
And, under Gov. Gregoire, the number of sex offenders with “unverified addresses” has dropped 10%.
Snohomist County Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Mark Roe calls Gregoire “the best friend law enforcement has ever had” when it comes to “putting money where her mouth is” for sex offender monitoring and enforcement.

You don’t have any friends: that’s why you spend so much time here.
And I could care less about your attacks on Republicans ’cause I ain’t one of them.
So fuck off and die, rabbit.

re 1: They could improve bus routes immediately by having several hubs instead of forcing everyone to go to downtown Seattle for a transfer. And then all the bums, drunks, and drug addicts hop aboard to ride around for free.
That’s where you lose a lot of time and it makes ‘bussing it’ impractical.

AP Report: Palin Has ‘Checkered’ Ethics History
“ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin … has skirted state ethics rules … for personal benefit and used her office to help friends and supporters, according to an Associated Press review of records.
“Palin’s first try at statewide office, after six years as mayor of Wasilla, was an unsuccessful run for lieutenant governor in 2002. To raise money, she improperly used her City Hall office and equipment, city records show. …
“Then, in 2006, Palin won the governor’s race with a vow to reform state ethics. But … she has repeatedly taken actions that violated her own stated standards for ethical behavior — if not state law. In the process, [she] has become much like the … politicians she attacked during her rise to power. Some examples:
“She pummeled opponents for giving oil companies and other businesses too much control of state government. Yet she appointed the founder of an engineering firm that received $6.8 million in state business as head of the transportation department.
“She has accepted dozens of gifts worth tens of thousands of dollars since taking office, including two free trips last year that she failed to report on disclosure forms, despite criticizing state legislators for the gifts they take.
“She is under another investigation, accused of misusing her office to campaign against a voter referendum calling for tighter mining regulations. Her husband … has accepted free trips from a mining company ….
“Another ethics complaint, unresolved, accuses her staff of finding a state job for a friend and campaign contributor. …
“‘It’s all about the power, and it frightens me,’ said state Rep. Beth Kerttula …. ‘She doesn’t seem to know where the boundaries are.’
“She has cast herself as Alaska’s ethics watchdog. … After her victory, though, Palin reverted to … rewarding … marginally qualified friends and campaign backers with high-level positions. …
“Palin claims passage of broad ethics reforms as an accomplishment following state corruption scandals. But Palin didn’t report as gifts two free trips she received in 2007 as legislators were debating the new ethics law. …
” … [S]tate Rep. Mike Doogan said Palin, even as she bends or breaks the rules herself, acts as if she invented ethics in Alaska. ‘It’s insulting to those of us who have always done the right thing,’ he said.”

Whoever is elected president, will have to work with our neighboring countries, I mean Canada at least. Tonight was election night, Conservatives, according to the CBC(I am watching it, get the Vancouver station on the cable), Conservatives re-elected, winning 144 seats so far, it keeps going between 143-145, but they need 155 for a majority. Liberals have 75, the separatist(they call themselves sovereigntist) Bloc Quebocois has 50, the New Democratic Party is in 4th winning 37 districts. They say a minority government close to a majority that rules like they have the majority can be short-lived. THey brought up Joe Clark, who was in such a position, back when the party was called the Progressive Conservative Party. 6 months later no-confidence vote, and there was an election. One of his crowning achievements, pulling the Canadian embassy out of Iran. Kind of had no choice, the Canadian Diplomats gave refuge to 6 American Diplomats. While that secret was being kept, the leader of the Liberal Opposition challenged Clark on not doing enough to help their American Neighbors. The leader, Pierre Trudeau, in between tenures as PM.
A potential new backbencher for the Liberals, Trudeau’s son, Justin. Who knows, in a decade or two, if he stays in, he might have his father’s old job back. We have had two Father-son duos as president, and one Grandpa-Grandson duo. I don’t know if Canada has had Father-Son PM’s.

Palin In ‘Free Fall’
“The latest Quinnipiac University/ Wall Street Journal/Washington Post swing state poll … finds Barack Obama surging ahead of John McCain in … Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. …
“In Colorado, Obama … dominates … with women, 54%-38%. …
“In Michigan, Obama leads … with women, 60%-32% ….
“[I]n Minnesota, … Obama leads with women, 54%-37% ….
“[I]n Wisconsin, … Obama leads with women 59%-33% ….
“There are three elements carrying Obama in these polls. First, the economy is the critical issue in the minds of these voters, and McCain has shown no competency in this area at all. Second, McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin is in total free fall. Palin has negative approval rating in every state …. None of the people surveyed in these polls believe that she is qualified to be … president. Only, 41%-44% of respondents believe that she is qualified to be VP. …
“Palin was added to the ticket to attract the white suburban soccer moms that voted for Bush in 2004, but her selection has backfired in a big way. Women don’t think that she is qualified for the job. …
“While those asked stressed that the debates didn’t change their support, what the debates did seem to do is make voters more comfortable with Obama … the debates have … eased worries about him, because he has looked more presidential than McCain.”

CNN is showing a special on Palin “palling around” with traitors like the AIP. Seems that calling others out for associating with traitors while having a lot closer associations yourself isn’t going over too well. They also mention the militia groups and the associations with people in the John Birch society – a noted anti-semetic group that talks about the world wide banking conspiracy.
They highlight the 2008 Palin speech to the AIP (they show the video) and her attendance at the 2004 convention. they also detail her actions and associations with the gruop as mayor of Wasilla and Tod Palin’s membership in the AIP.
Guess it is open season on traitors. This is now on top of her ethics violations. She is sinking like a rock. Where are the trolls who said that attacking her would backfire? She has ruined her own credibility and is perceived as unqualified and now tainted with ethics violations and associations with traitors. Guess the serial lying was the best part of her character.

McCain Campaign Tries To Silence Unruly Supporters
The McCain campaign has a new tactic: Keep their supporters from talking to reporters, because their supporters make McCain look bad.
Mike Madden, writing in Salon.com, recounted how campaign staffers chased him and other reporters away from supporters at a campaign event. After the event, the staffers “herded the national press onto a bus … pulling out so fast they accidentally left two reporters behind.”
“That,” wrote Madden, “may be a new measure … by the campaign to reduce incidents of embarrassment-by-voter.”
Madden reports that “another McCain-Palin supporter called for the death of Barack Obama” at a Palin rally in Scranton today. And in Blue Bell, “unwilling to take a chance on off-message signs, the campaign distributed prefab ones for supporters to hold up, with bland slogans” ….
Also, Madden reported, “For the second day in a row, an event billed as a town hall turned out to be just a speech, where McCain supporters couldn’t take the mike and call Obama an Arab ….”

Just on-line from AP about your disgraceful Rep. Tom Mahoney (DEMOCRAT–Florida):
“WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Hours after a married congressman addressed a report that he had an affair with a former aide and paid her to keep quiet about it, details of a purported tryst with a second woman surfaced.
Though Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney did not directly mention allegations first reported by ABC News that he had been involved with the former aide, he issued a statement apologizing to his family but denying he’d done anything illegal.
Later Tuesday, a person close to his campaign told The Associated Press that Mahoney also was having an affair with a second woman around the same time.
Mahoney, 52, won his seat in 2006 while promising to return morals and family values to Washington in the aftermath of the resignation of former Republican U.S. Rep. Mark Foley.”
Makes you wonder when this piece of crap had time to govern!!
Mahoney is going to lose…and his disgrace will hurt O-blah-blah is his District. Look for strong Republican showing.
Let’s see…we have Mahoney, Eliot Spitzer, John Edwards, Barney Frank’s boyfriend @ Fannie….where will it all end.
PS–
McCain is right. With an all Democrat House, Senate & President…all this Democrat BS, especially Barney Frank and Chris Dodd will be swept under the rug.
