I’m feeling like crap, so I’m heading to bed as soon as I get home. If I’m feeling better (or knowing me if I just can’t sleep) later on, I’ll post something. But otherwise, zzzzzzzzzz for me. Here are some topics:

- Christmas recipes

- Newtonmass recipes

- Carl is a dummy for walking to DL when he was already feeling a bit down.

- Carl should have taken his car, so it’s his own fault.

- How this won’t change Carl’s WARONCARZ stances, that are totally real.

- Something something Ed Murray

- Socialism!

- Communism!

- Is there a difference between the two?

- Obama

- Thanks Obama!

- #THANKSOBAMA!

- Oh, the Senate passed a shitty budget, but it’s probably better than the sequester budget.

- Get well soon, Carl*

- The State GOP. What, why?**

- How many pieces on this list before it feels like it’s just padding?

- Have we hit that already?

- Was it somewhere between “Here are some topics” and “Christmas recipes” or did it manage to be before that?

- Does Carl know his stupid lists are stupid, and even worse when he’s only going at 50% at the most?

- Whatever you want: you’re an adult

* You really don’t have to: I’ll be fine.

** I don’t have anything in mind, but I haven’t looked. There’s probably something: there usually is.

Unless you’re about to retire from the military.

Gee, Carl, I’m sorry you’ve got the bug. I know how you feel. I had it last week.

In politics, there’s always been this rather weird mix of civility and outright rudeness that can be appalling at times. This is a primary example of the latter. It isn’t so much as the TeaPottie people are even cognizant of their general attitude towards people, they happen to be the most incredibly tribalistic people I’ve ever come across. It really is deliberate on their part. They ENJOY being racist, ignorant and generally nasty fucked-up people. They ENJOY being rude and boorish. It is a major aspect of their personalities, and they don’t even pretend to hide it much of the time.

They don’t even care to think about what comes out of their mouths. It doesn’t bother them at all, that they sound like a loosely-knit group of utterly uncivil imbeciles. They aren’t the kind of people most folks outside of their little bullshit tribe would ever invite to dinner anyway so they don’t have to care. They have each other. They have their little gossip-group of shallow and selfish “friends” who you know damn well would stab them in the back as soon as they got the chance.

I’ve seen that up close. The nastiest, most inconsiderate behavior was amongst the people at the church my dad went to for a few years. It finally came to a head when someone told him flat out that I wasn’t welcome, simply because I had (and continue to have) a “jewfro” and really didn’t look very “christian”. It was the one event I can remember being that reason for never setting foot in a church ever again.

I don’t understand what these lunatics are trying to accomplish by this. Who the fuck do they think they’re going to impress with that attitude? All it does is alienate folks who do take some effort with being polite in uncertain circumstances.

4. Ten Years After - Roger Rabbit is just a liberal progressive troll. spews:

From 3,

Yes, quite true. Similar types of boorish behavior exists in the anarchists who break windows and throw stones at cops on May 1st.

5. Deathfrogg spews:

@ 4

You mean the undercover Cops that were doing that right? It’s already been established that was what was going on. The SFPD, OPD, NYPD and the SPD have already admitted to doing that.

It was the Police themselves smashing windows and spraypainting things and starting fights. Especially at the OWS riot in Oakland a couple years ago. They were caught on fucking camera doing it.

No, I mean the kids who all dress and look like Curt Colbain, except when they’re engaging in their anarchist activities.

Some cops may be doing the same thing: I wouldn’t put it past them, but the kids KIRO showed being charged for May Day crimes are the ones I’m talking about.

I’m not a big fan of cops, and I’m not a big fan of anarchist groups like the Earth Liberation Front who think it’s fun to burn down buildings on the UW campus.

8. Ten Years After - Roger Rabbit is just a liberal progressive troll. spews:

From 5,

No, I’m talking about all the kids who dress and want to look like Curt Colbain, except during the May Day protests.

Cops may be engaged in those activities, too, but I’m more concerned about the self-entitled young people who think the world owes them a living.

@6 Well waddya know — back in Feb. 2009, when he should have been backing up the truck to the stock exchange, our resident genius Puddyidiot wasted his time posting nonsense about how QE was going to cause hyperinflation.

He was drinking the rightwing Kool-Aid.

I saw this — and still see it — a lot in financial and investing blog comments by rightwingers. The “reasoning” goes: The Federal Reserve is “printing” a lot of money, therefore we’re going to have hyperinflation. It belongs in the same wastebasket as claims that cold winters prove global warming is a hoax.

I hate to pop puddy’s bubble, but DEFLATION not inflation is what the Fed is worried about. You know, as in “deflationary death spiral”? Does anyone need me to explain how that works?

If Puddy had spent Feb. 2009 buying truckloads of stocks, instead of frittering away his waking hours on quack economic theories, he wouldn’t have to work now. He’d be sleeping ’til noon every day, like I do.

Oh, and btw, my take from today’s stock market surge was $6,016. That sure beats working for wages.

10. Roger Rabbit spews:

Puddy is a fucking moron on countless levels.

11. Roger Rabbit spews:

@7 Who’s in favor of breaking windows and throwing rocks, except the people doing it? We’re certainly not. What’s your point? Do you have one?

12. Roger Rabbit spews:

A little-publicized feature of the compromise budget deal that has passed both Houses of Congresses and is waiting for President Obama’s signature is that free online access to dead people’s social security numbers will be no more.

The Social Security Administration will still maintain its so-called “death index,” but access will now be restricted, because identity thieves have been exploiting the index.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/101283590

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Richard Nixon’s social security number is 567-68-0515. Go for it! His reputation couldn’t possibly get any worse than it already is.

Did anyone in our government ever think that maybe we have terrorist activities done against us because we have been messing around those terrorists’ countries internal affairs? Maybe we’re getting the harvest from the seeds we sowed decades ago?

14. Roger Rabbit spews:

If you’re one of those window-smashing undercover cops pretending to be an anarchist, use that number on your booking forms the next time you’re arrested. Most cops are wingnuts, and when their computer IDs you, they’ll probably let you go.

15. Ten Years After - Roger Rabbit is just a liberal progressive troll. spews:

From 7,

Deathfrog implied that the people doing all the May Day damage were really all cops. That may be true that cops did bad things, but there are lots of unwise young people engaging in anarchist activities on May Day. That’s all I was talking about.

16. Roger Rabbit spews:

@13 “Did anyone in our government ever think that maybe we have terrorist activities done against us because we have been messing around those terrorists’ countries internal affairs?”

Yeah, I think they’ve noticed that. That’s why they’re not real shocked when CIA stations get blown up and undercover CIA guys disappear.

17. Roger Rabbit spews:

@15 Are you implying old people don’t do unwise things?

18. Roger Rabbit spews:

Dumb kids throwing rocks through windows don’t do remotely as much damage as dumb adults who start preemptive wars. A window costs hundreds of dollars, but a war costs trillions.

19. Deathfrogg spews:

Down in the insurance fraud capital of the country, Rick Scott was able to buy the Governors office with money stolen from the Medicare system, and has used his office to protect himself from further investigation. Meanwhile, he owns the company that has the sole-source, no-bid contract to drug test anyone applying for unemployment or workmens compensation benefits.

I wonder how much of that $2 Billion he swindled from the Federal Government ended up in the GOP campaign coffers? It was certain that the Bush administration was protecting him, as well as the bankers in New York City that somehow managed to make nearly $14 Trillion disappear out of the Treasury without a trace.

20. Steve (Pudge, who is my bitch, can't ban shit) spews:

In case MikeBoyScout is around, the comment Pudge wants no one to read. He can’t delete it and ban commenters fast enough. Good luck to Pudge with that as I’ve only got 64,995 more IP addresses and sockpuppets yet to unleash. Anyway, Mike, here it is,

“If you weren’t insinuating that there was nepotism”

I’d say the insinuation was in the original post, but once he got into the comments, Pudge directly accused the DelBenes of nepotism several times. Since this accusation is directed towards Congresswoman DelBene, she is, in fact, being accused by Pudge of having committed an ethics violation per US Code as referenced in comments above. What is unfortunate is that Pudge makes this accusation without offering any evidence at all that Congresswoman DelBene in any way advocated for a relative, as advocacy is required by US Code to have occurred for there to be nepotism, also noted in comments above. Simply being married to someone is in no way evidence of a federal public official advocating for a spouse’s employment or appointment.

Look at it this way. If the husband had promoted a relative at Microsoft, a disgruntled co-worker might go to a dictionary to better understand the meaning of the word nepotism to see if there’s an issue. But if one suspects Congresswoman Suzan DelBene of nepotism, you need to go to US Code. When it comes to nepotism, the private sector and public sector are horses of different colors. If you accuse a federal public official of nepotism, you have a higher bar to clear than a disgruntled private sector employee. In these comments, Pudge hasn’t once come close to clearing that bar.

Really, the subject of nepotism should never have been brought up at all. If anyone is to be blamed for that, it can only be Pudge for putting that word in the title of his post. He should have backed off immediately. Unfortunately, instead he doubled and then tripled down on his baseless accusations.

@24 Fans of wingnut economic theories bitterly opposed fiscal and monetary stimulus. They were egregiously wrong on both counts. Fiscal austerity plunged Europe into depression-like conditions, and the Federal Reserve’s monetary stimulus didn’t cause inflation. If our policymakers listened to these dingbats we’d be re-living the 1930s.

Dan Savage reviews Sarah Palin’s book….

Twenty children and six teachers were shot dead in their classrooms by a deranged asshole with a “powerful gun.” And before the grieving mothers and fathers of Newtown, Connecticut, could put their dead children in the ground, Sarah Palin ran out gun shopping. Buying Todd a gun in the wake of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary was “fun,” Palin writes—and, again, an act of “civil disobedience.” Because gun nuts are a persecuted minority.

Sarah Palin is a shit-talking pimp who makes money playing to the carefully cultivated persecution complexes of conservative Christian rubes who wouldn’t know what religious persecution was if it sat on their faces and shit in their mouths.

South of the border, progress is slow, but it has been made in Mexico itself. It’s legal in two states, and Mexico City, but the latter is interesting. Marriages performed in Mexico City, have to be recognized nationwide. One recent court case, which only effects one couple, was in the State of Chihuahua, which borders two American States, one with a Constitutional Amendment banning marriage equality, Texas, and another where the State Supreme Court just legalized it, New Mexico. In Mexico, it does not become a precedent with just one case, it takes about 5.
