Birds Eye View Contest

Last week’s Birds Eye View Contest went unsolved, but something weird did happen with the picture. When I first copied it last week, at intersection of Amethyst St and Raynol St in Los Angeles, there were no homes ready to slide down the hill. I went back there just now, and…homes have been built! Doesn’t Southern California have enough empty houses already? Sorry to everyone who tried solving that one, although I think wes.in.wa was on it. That was way hard.

Here’s this week’s…it’s not impossible. Good luck.

Well, Highway 32 is Main St. in Racine, WI, and the buildings are just about right, but I don’t think this is it.

    Michele spews:

Sign on an Obama headquarters: “To God be the glory great things he has done.
    OBAMA
Thy kingdom come thy will be done.”

Oh dear–we’re waiting for your heads to collectively explode and seeing you start foaming at the mouth. Separation of church and state and all that. I think we’re seeing who REALLY wants a theocracy—the Obama camp. But I guess that would be fine with y’all. Of course.

    spews:

    @4
That was pretty whacked. Separation of church and state means that people can believe that a political figure is inspired by god, he just can’t govern as god. Or is Michele really dumb enough to believe that people high up in the Obama campaign put the sign there?

    Michele spews:

lol A lot of people suspect obama thinks he is God. Or hadn’t you heard all the Obamessiah jokes that his own actions inspired?
I strongly suspect that if a republican put up such a sign at the presidential campaign offices you’d scream “See! See! They want a theocracy!!! Religious nut alert!” We’ve heard it all before. Don’t even bother to refute that. Now that a dem has actually done this, suddenly it’s okay. tsk tsk
Thanks for the gold star, Michael. It’ll go up on my fridge. Caio, all. Ponder the double standard you’ve set up for everyone else when it comes to religion.

    Lee,

MS did a huge imagery update during the week, which would explain the new houses. For the whole list of updates, see Chris Pendelton’s blog

3, 7 – Typical of the bumper-sticker mentality of the pseudo-intellectual right — mouths words and phrases sans comprehension.

    Michele,

“A lot of people suspect obama thinks he is God.”

Ummm…yeah. I suspect that almost all of them have fallen victim to WingDing hate-talkers, who seem to be the only folks pushing the idea.

“Or hadn’t you heard all the Obamessiah jokes that his own actions inspired?”

Sure…some of us make those jokes all the time. But we’re making fun of (1) The McCain campaign who, apparently, though it was a winning strategy to put out an ad portraying Obama as the messiah, (2) self-parodying idiots like Rush Limbaugh who know that telling people such things sells ads, but mostly (3) the idiots who actually believe the talk radio liars and/or buy into the wingnutty campaign propaganda.

    spews:

    Michele,

“I strongly suspect that if a republican put up such a sign at the presidential campaign offices you’d scream…”

Umm…unlikely. Politicians and candidates invoke God frequently—as in almost every speech. In this particular case, such a thing is utterly irrelevant. The sign was placed outside on the window of a campaign office. A campaign is a private entity and there are no restrictions on free speech, expression of religion, or even practice of religion. They can hold fundie prayer meetings, wiccan ceremonies, or exorcisms at the campaign headquarters if they wish.

    Terrorist Attack In Bellingham

The Bellingham Herald and campus sources report political terrorism on the WWU campus. According to the Herald,

“WWU police found that 10 cars with bumper stickers urging voters to elect Obama had their tires slashed or a ‘W’ scratched into them Nov. 6, Chief Randy Stegmeier said.”

    (quoted under fair use)

Roger Rabbit Commentary: I doubt a student did this. More likely a group of local rednecks. The CIA should fly armed drones over Bellingham and the surrounding hills to hunt these terrorists down.

You’re wasting your time, Darryl. Don’t expect a mental midget like Michele to grasp anything as subtle as the distinction between private expression of religious belief on private property by individuals and the misuse of governmental power and public facilities to promote a particular religion to the exclusion of others.

I’ve seen the trolls like Michele drag in here stuff from the right wing hate sites for a long time.

When you go to those sites, it’s mind boggling the shit they make up.

We only get the tip of the iceberg here although in general it’s representative.

Why yelling loser boy,#14, pot calling kettle black?

You went to Kos and puffed up the Bristol is Trig Palin’s mom.

    Fool!

    Roger Rabbit spews:

    @15 “loser boy,#14″

Are you confused about who lost, puddinghead? Plus, it’s a little weird for you to be calling someone else a “fool,” if you know what I mean.

15 – That was a big rumor in Alaska long before it hit DailyKos. I first read it in a comments thread on Andrew Halcro’s blog.

The sheen was coming off the Mat-Su Barbie even then.

Freerepublic.com is calling for the boycott of Fox News for “spreading lies” about Sara Palin re: the clothes, her hanging on to her medical records until the last second, etc etc etc.

My goodness. When you have lost the Freepers, things are baaaaaaaad.

Wow, when Fox News is struggling to be the moderate voice among Republicans, they’ve got problems.

And dailypus is good for taking rumors and running with them. The stupid little people that frequent dailypus then regurgitate the dailypus talking points all over the internet.
