Last week’s contest was won by Geoduck. It was an historic water ride at the Iowa State Fair.
Here’s this week’s contest, a random location somewhere in the world. Good luck!

“Somewhere in the world” on Interstate 40 — which puts it somewhere between Barstow, California and Wilmington, North Carolina — that has a U.S. flag on a pole in the parking lot of a shopping mall.

Asheville’s Fun Depot

I can tell you what it’s not:
Not Westgate Mall in Amarillo, TX

Not Bellevue Center in West Nashville, TN

Not Greensboro, NC

This is a toughie, because it could be anywhere along 3,000 miles of freeway. If you’re looking for it on Bing aerial photos, the multi-colored roof will be the giveaway. Also, the reddish-colored paving on I-40 matches that in the Bing aerial views in North Carolina, whereas you’re more likely to have black-colored asphalt paving in the west, so my guess is it’s somewhere in the eastern portion of I-40.

@2 Nice find.
@Lee Is this two weeks of water-rides in a row? Maybe next time we’ll have this one?
milwhcky spews:
The ultimate water ride!!
Roger Rabbit spews:
Nice catch — I looked at the Asheville aerial view on Bing but didn’t see it.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@6 And the ultimate prize goes to 7-year-old Roger Woodward, who survived a plunge over Horseshoe Falls in a bathing suit and lifejacket, and his 17-year-old sister Deanna, who was rescued by two onlookers just 20 feet from the lip of the falls, after they were thrown from a disabled fishing boat upriver in 1960. The man who was with them in the 12 foot aluminum boat went over the falls and was killed.
Woodward is the only human being who has survived an unprotected ride over the falls.

Totally a coincidence to have two water rides in a row. In fact, I didn’t know last week’s was a water ride until after someone solved it and figured out what it was. I actually thought it was a course for pig races or something ridiculous like that. When I first saw this, I thought it was just a mall, but that weird track thing in front made me look up what it actually was.
