The United States Supreme Court has overturned an appellate court that ruled in favor of the Republican Party regarding voter registrations in Ohio.
In a brief unsigned opinion, the justices said they were not commenting on whether Ohio is complying with a provision of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 that lays out requirements for verifying voter eligibility.
Instead, they said they were granting Brunner’s request because it appears that the law does not allow private entities, like the Ohio GOP, to file suit to enforce the provision of the law at issue.
About 200,000 of 666,000 voters who have registered in Ohio since Jan. 1 have records that don’t match. Brunner has said the discrepancies most likely stem from innocent clerical errors rather than fraud but has set up a verification plan.
While this is heartening, it’s not the end of Republican monkey business. Josh Marshall, as usual, leads the way covering highly suspect Department of Justice actions, this time with the ridiculous FBI folderol regarding ACORN. If that’s not an attempt to screw with the outcome of the election, I don’t know what is. That lady from Alaska even mentioned it this morning on my tee-vee. Here’s a bit from TPM’s story this morning:
“I’m astounded that this issue is being trotted out again. Based on what I saw in 2004 and 2006, it’s a scare tactic.”
Who’s that speaking? And what’s he talking about?
That’s fired US Attorney David Iglesias talking about the news leaked today that the DOJ and FBI are opening a nationwide investigation into allegations that the community organization ACORN is somehow working to undermine the November election through fraud. For more from Iglesias and his fellow fired US Attorney Bud Cummins, don’t miss TPMMuckraker’s Zack Roth’s interview post from earlier this evening.
There really needs to be intense scrutiny of the FBI investigation of ACORN in the traditional media. If there’s anything there other than everyday mistakes and the occasional people ripping off ACORN, then we all want to know about it. Because if there’s not anything worth investigating then the FBI itself is now being used as an arm of the Republican Party. (I know, who would think the Bush Justice Department would do such a thing?)
As Iglesias notes in his interview with TPM, the leaking of the investigation itself is highly suspicious. It’s hard enough to win elections without having to win by margins larger than Republican suppression efforts.
Any illegal votes disenfranchise legal voters.
Calling Voter Registration “Voter Suppression” is ludicrous.
ACORN has 6 convicted fraud perpetrators in Washington and numerous nationwide. They did tthese shenanigans with PUBLIC MONEY. That’s the outrage!
ACORN has brought this upon themselves by turning an intentional blind eye to what registrations are turned in.
Nice Try==No Sale
I insist every vote MUST come from a Legally Qualified Registered Voter.
I would think most of you feel the same.
Mr. Cynical,
somebody still needs to explain to you the difference between voter registrations and voter ballots? Please.
You realize of course that if there was a demonstrably republican organization that had an equivalent record of that of Acorn you all would be calling for heads. Wondering why more wasn’t being done to ensure the group couldn’t turn in massive lists with questionable registrations.
Matter of fact you’d be questioning how a partisan group with that record was able to secure govt. money. There would be freaking hearings.
@1
I insist that everyone who has the right to vote has every opportunity to do so. I would think you would feel the same.
Iowahawk nails it:
“ACORN Files Voting Rights Suit on Behalf of Imaginary-Americans
ST. LOUIS – Attorneys for the voting registration organizations ACORN and Project Vote filed an anti-discrimination voting rights suit in the U.S. Federal District court this morning, alleging the United States government is involved in “a widespread, systematic effort to disenfranchise Imaginary-Americans and deprive them of access to polls.”
“Participation in our electoral process is a fundamental right, and the foundation of our democracy,” said ASDF ASDFG, a spokesperson for the National Association for the Advancement of Imaginary People, one of the groups named as plaintiffs in the class action. “We will not be silent when government denies people access to the polls on the basis of color, or sex, or existential status.”
rla:
I insist that everyone who has the right to vote and has legally registered has every opportunity to do so. I would think you would feel the same.
I haven’t been watching the coverage of the ACORN issue very closely, but from what I’ve seen, it’s either that the MSM doesn’t understand it, or is simply spewing Republican talking points, to gather ratings Lou Dobbs-style or perhaps to avoid accusations of being “too liberal.” ACORN is usually underrepresented in the reporting.
The best (and it’s surprisingly balanced) coverage I’ve seen on this is on DN:
http://www.democracynow.org/2008/10/15/acorn
I think everyone who voted by GW Bush should be stood to answer for aiding and abetting a war criminal who ordered people to be tortured over a period of years
I think Mr. Cynical would feel the same.
@ 8
There’s a better web site that provides detailed information on absentee voting: http://www.longdistancevoter.org/help.
In particular, this
exposes the lie that that wingnuts like delbert (who posts quotes from Republican press releases) have been trying to peddle.
@8
From CNN: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRhrT22BsIY
ACORN submits 5,000 registrations. Lake County, Indiana Elections department starts to check. Guess how many out of the first 2,100 they find to be fraudulent?
If you guessed, “all 2,100 out of 2,100”, you win a prize.
@7
Fair enough. Do you agree that it’s proper to help people who can legally register to do so? Someone turns 18 and doesn’t know where to go, or person just receives citizenship
and needs assistance on getting registered.. etc..
@10
Not a press release, that there’s mockery, pure and simple…
If you register an imaginary voter at a non-existent address, how will that affect an election one way or the other?
To implement a vote fraud scheme using such erroneously registered voters would not be feasible in the real world. Think about it — if that’s not asking too much from a Republican.
HOWEVER, Republican caging lists and and re-programming of voting machines is a real problem.
It’s a proven fact that your side used these tactics in the 2000, 2004, 2006, and now the 2008 election. You know you are going to lose, even with all your cheating mechanisms in place. Your side is just trying to set up a ‘voter fraud’ meme to try to devalue the legitimacy of an Obama administration.
I’m telling you right now that if the legal system in this country can’t get you Republican criminals under control, then posse law is sanctioned by the constitution.
I have no problem with citizens, who need help, getting assistance in registering to vote.
I have a problem with illegal immigrants, felons, and dead people voting.
I have a problem with college students from a different state claiming to live in a battleground state while in Europe for the semester. See Ohio.
I have a problem with the “denial of service” attacks on the registration process ala ACORN. They dumped 660,000 new registrations in the system in Ohio and overloaded the elections departments. 200,000 of those need further review and the Democrat SoS is dragging her feet to hold of checking past the election.
delbert
The comment you posted on the Open Thread was from a press release put out by the New Mexico Republican Party.
And, you have a problem with a lot of things, not the least of which is your inability to tell the whole truth. Why do you need to lie, delbert?
re 15: In some states it is not illegal for felons to vote. There is no constitutional rule forbidding felons to vote.
Ollie North votes, and he’s a convicted felon. Being pardoned by a president (who was a co-conspirator, himself) in no way changes the fact that North is a convicted felon.
But the fact of the matter is that all statistical studies show that erroneous voter registration has NO effect on the outcome of an election, but the illegal caging of voters (a Republican specialty) does.
@16
Yes, that was. But in THIS thread, my comment at #6 was a wonderful piece of mockery by IowaHawk.
We’re over here now, in this thread, try to stay with us and focus.
@17
Please link your “all statistical studies” or it didn’t happen.
@15
“of” in the last line should be “off”.
It’s funny that the BIAW is fighting ‘the environmentalists’ when it’s Republican policies that have killed the housing market.
The BIAW can try to loosen the environmental rules (via Dino ‘carney barker’ Rossi), but it won’t make a bit of difference — because no one can get loans.
re 20: Well, thanks for the heads-up! But your comment is still BS.
I have no problem with citizens, who need help, getting assistance in registering to vote.
Yes you do because it’s a fact pure and simple that the more people who participate (legally of course) in our democracy, the more right wing, Limbaugh-loving fools lose.
The GOP Party vote suppression machine is massive: voter rolls purges, voter caging, voter intimidation, “no match, no vote” disenfranchisement, malfunctioning voting equipment, deliberate misinformation sent to voters – a whole host of dirty tricks that is commonly practiced by that most corrupt and ugly of parties – the GOP Party.
Which you Delbert so obviously “prefer”.
Re 19: Thanks for asking. Are these enough? Will you even read one of them?

“Behind the GOP’s voter fraud hysteria
As Republicans warn of catastrophe at the polls, an expert on election fraud explains the real partisan hoax — the suppression of Democratic votes.”
By Andrew Burmon

http://www.projectvote.org/fil....._Final.pdf
http://www.eagleton.rutgers.ed.....timony.pdf
Totally sleazy GOP trick. IF their honest concern was voter fraud, they would have raised this issue years ago. The ONLY theoretical reason to wait until 21 days till the election is to spread chaos and confusion and help invalidate the process (so when Obama wins they can claim it was all flawed and we don’t REALLY know who won). IF the GOP really cared about preventing voter fraud they would’ve done this a year ago so we fool proof solid system would be in place…not wait until days before and election to force some last minute poorly thought out emergency procedure. This is as transparent and stupid a joke tactic as John McCains “suspending his campaign”. Totally bullshit gimmick. Laughable.
Ideally everyone in this country should vote (of course they don’t). If the GOP believes the only way they can win is to minimize the number of people voting and to “not talk about the issues”, then they’re running an intellectually bankrupt campaign.
@ 18
But in THIS thread, my comment at #6 was a wonderful piece of mockery by IowaHawk.
On the other hand, the subject of this thread is the same as the subject of your comment in the open thread.
We’re over here now, in this thread, try to stay with us and focus.
Neither your lies nor your cingulate over-focus are my problems.
And, you haven’t answered my question. Why do you have to lie, delbert?
re 26: Delbert lies because he believes he is in the right on all things political; therefore, any tactic (whether a lie, cheating, or not)that advances Delbert’s agenda (which Delbert believes is ‘right’), is justified in the service of Delbert’s perceived (erroneously) truth.
In short: He’s a fanatic.
This case has nothing to do with Acorn. I has everything to do with Republicans looking to force legally registered voters to vote using provisional ballots in order to clog and slow down polling places by challenging voters, all on no more compelling “evidence” than trivial differences in various database entries.
For example, McCain-Palin shill and legally registered voter Sam “Joe” Wurzelbacher is reistered as Samuel Joseph Worzelbacher. Should he be deied his franchise because of some innocous error? I wouldn’t deny his right, even though I disagree with his politics.
So let’s examine the record here: the Ohio GOP believes that important errors are imperiling the vote in their state, but they wait until 30 days before the election to take action? Doesn’t pass the smell test.
Here’s a nice little picture that should warm Delbert’s heart.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/.....cCain.html
What’s that guilt by association thing again? I mean it’s scandalous!!! In the same room as ACORN!!!
Voter registration should be automatic and universal. Let’s get a national ID and accompany it with universal registration.
I[t] has everything to do with Republicans looking to force legally registered voters to vote using provisional ballots.
Of which one-third to one-half are routinely not counted. Provisional ballots are yet another piece of the GOP vote suppression machine.
Let’s see, if I filled out a voter regisration in the name of Joe Biden to make a buck, come Elelction Day, who would vote using it? No one. Case closed.
@28: LOL. You could even say that McCain pals around with ACORN.
9. busdrivermike spews:
“I think everyone who voted by GW Bush should be stood to answer for aiding and abetting a war criminal who ordered people to be tortured over a period of years

Keep both hands on the wheel a$$hole…and don’t leer at the teenage girls.
rla spews:
“Fair enough. Do you agree that it’s proper to help people who can legally register to do so? Someone turns 18 and doesn’t know where to go, or person just receives citizenship

I have no problem with that.
I do have a problem with ACORN and their track record and giving them public money to do so.
I think people should register in person and show some idea and have their registration crosschecked with Motor Vehicle Dept and Social Security.
Who doesn’t have a SS number?
If you don’t have one, WHY NOT?? Tax-Dodger??
If I was a paid registrar collector, and I wanted to cut corners- I could submit a registration with the imaginary information: Tiny Littlenutz, 69 Dumbfuck Ln, Dipshit, OH. I’d make some more money. But I’d be breaking the law, and Acorn, the organization I work for would turn me in to the brown shirts. But Tiny Littlenutz probably wouldn’t show up to vote in Dipshit, OH., on voting day because he’s imaginary. Far less real than delbert’s Dino Rossi blow up doll.
slingshot–
Untrue.
In 2004, we asked repeatedly in King Kounty for the list of names of who was credited with voting…the total of which would match up with the total number of actual votes.
King Kounty could never do this simple thing…and were let off the hook because the old law did not specifically REQUIRE a reconciliation. NOW it is required.
The problem here is we can only see who voted AFTER the votes are comingled & counted.
See the problems??
The bottom line is that asshole republicans will not be able to steal this election like they did in 2000 and 2004 without a fight.
You motherfuckers can bitch and whine all you want, but ACORN played by THE RULES (like they WOULDN’T???…knowing what kind of republican DIP-SHITS were watching???? C’mon!)…and the Supreme Court said so. Unanimously.
So fuck off.
Problem for you guys is the Dems are ready, willing and able to stand up and fight.
This is the new Democratic Party…and your “five minutes” are up.
delbert’s Dino Rossi blow up doll.
LMAO!! I bet those are selling like hotcakes to the (un)SP crowd.
@35: I didn’t realize (but it makes sense, of course) that to protect against voter suppression, ACORN is required by law to submit all the registrations they receive, whether the registrations are obvious BS or not.
ACORN reviews the registrations and flags obviously fake ones like that to help elections officials, but they still have to turn in everything that the canvassers submit.
Oh and the asshole known as mr. cynical will do “just fine thank you” $$$-wise under the Dems. Since that’s ALL that the son-of-a-bitch cares about that’ll make him happy.
Fucking shithead.
So asshole BIAW shill…
…what’re you gonna do if the voters (or the judiciary) won’t let you BUY the gubenatorial election…
@35 “Far less real than delbert’s Dino Rossi blow up doll”
LMFAO! Good grief! Dino dolls and goats!
I think I now understand what O-blah-blah was telling Joe the Plumber:
“In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labor, and therewith also the antithesis between mental and physical labor, has vanished; after labor has become not only a means of life but life’s prime want; after the productive forces have also increased with the all-around development of the individual, and all the springs of co-operative wealth flow more abundantly–only then can the narrow horizon of bourgeois right be crossed in its entirety and society inscribe on its banners: From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
Joe needs to understand it is his responsibility to the GREATER GOOD that he work his ass off and risk capital…and then give it to O-blah-blah to distribute to all who “need”.
BTW–
The guy who provided O-blah-blah with his redistribution by government wisdom was:
KARL MARX!
Then answer me this. If this really is just paid canvassers just gaming the system, why is ACORN so fucking stupid to do this nationwide again and again. Remember they got busted in 2004 here in Seattle.
If I’m right, they’re corrupt.
If you’re right, they’re fucking stupid.
Well which is it? Evil or Stupid.
@44 “So asshole BIAW shill…
…what’re you gonna do”
He’ll always have his Dino doll.
46 Cyn
No, cynical, what Joe needs to understand (and I think he does now that he admitted it on television) is that he will save money under Barack Obama’s tax cut plan.
@48 “Well which is it? Evil or Stupid.”
I figure you to be too stupid to be any good at being evil.
Dino doll? LMFAO!!! You’ve been bitch-slapped, troll.
36 Cyn
You’re the proof of the adage that a man will never understand what it is in his interest not to understand.
There will NEVER be a complete one-to-one reconciliation of voters with voter rolls. And the reason is that voter regitration rolls are constantly being updated with people who get married, change their names, die, divorce, attain their majority, and move, while election vote records are but a snapshot of that constantly moving miasma of perfectly legal voters going about their business. This is all the more true now that we have absentee voting by mail, which allows more time after the vote is cast for changes to occur.
Get used to it.
If you think you can find fraud, fucking well find some, or shut the fuck up. 2 million dollars in 2004 found only four fraudulent votes (all for Dino Rossi) from, as I recall, some felons too dumb to understand they they weren’t allowed to vote and a poor schmuck who voted for his dead wife. The conspiracy you pray for does not exist.
@48:
They want to help eligible voters participate in the election, which is neither particularly corrupt/stupid.
40 ARRGH! That imagery almost made me lose my lunch.
48 del
False dichotomy. Those are not the only two choices. But thanks for playing Name That Fallacy.
I was going to mention that some right-wing fucks broke into the Seattle ACORN offices and stole their computers. Anyone here want to ‘fess up? Confession is good for the soul.
@51
Evil is a choice. Stupid is, well, YOU know…
@52 “The conspiracy you pray for does not exist.”
That only goes for the reality-based. Alas, reality and Cynical have only a passing acquaintance.
@57 “Stupid is, well, YOU know…”
You and your Dino doll?
Just look in the back of some fucked up Ford box van at a BIAW meeting.
What a bunch of un-American assholes…
…makes a hack like cynical proud. the old kkk tactics still work.
@53
“They want to help eligible voters participate in the election, which is neither particularly corrupt/stupid.”
And the method they use has been corrupted by their employees/contractors since at least 2004 and they know it, since one of their supervisors was convicted. So, why do they CONTINUE to use that method? Evil or Stupid?
61 del
We all go to doctors for medical treatment. Some doctors are stupid, careless, incompetent, and/or corrupt. Your response to this inevitability is that we should eliminate doctors as the means by which people seek and receive treatment.
Yes, the way we register voters is sub-optimal. I have not heard an optimal plan from you.
@55
You can call anything a false dichotomy, but until you provide the other choices (or any other sort of an argument, anything at all, really) it’s still just ‘blah, blah, blah’.
I’n not surprised the del and cynical are breaking into the ACORN offices. After all, their presidential candidate warned us not three das ago the ACORN is a threat to “the very fabric of democracy.”
Just think about that. A 10% registration error rate that does not affect votes is an exisential threat faced by democracy itself.
How do you guys get out of bed in the morning with all the fear you feel? Don’t you know that bin Laden is voting with a driver’s license that says “Mickey Mouse?”
63 del
No, it’s you with your hands over your ears saying “I CAN’T HEAR YOU LALALALALALALALA!!!”
But when I looked at up, it is more properly the excluded middle propaganda technique:
Funny that democrats are the only ones who
cant figure out how to register. You all must
be so proud of your fellow democrats. I
remember how much trouble you tards had just
punching out a fucking chad. The best thing
is the weak in society usually die off one way
or another.
@62
Bad analogy there. ACORN is a third party in the voter/election office scenario.
ACORN is the bum on the street with DTs talking to the EMT about your medical condition. It doesn’t help you, it wastes the EMT’s time, and costs a lot of taxpayer money.
Wait, that’s not a bum, that’s Steve. I didn’t recognize him through the crusted vomit.
Did you tards see how well the “free” healthcare for kids program worked out in Hawaii? Jesus fucking christ you dems are stupid.
From ACORN:
The government should AUTOMATCALLY register everyone who is eligible, with alternative registation channels for people the government does not know about.
@66 “the sheep and goat distinction”
Which is it, Delbert, sheep or goat?
@66
Nice research paper.
Now if there is a plausible explanation for ACORN’s actions, let’s hear it…
[crickets]
68 del
I don’t agree that the analogy is “bad.” Doctors mediate between the medical establishment (consisting of knowledge, technologies, infrastructure, insurance carriers, governement regulations, and so on) and us, as ACORN “professionals” mediate between the governmental infrastructure around voter registration, for voters without the knowledge or confidence to navigate it themselves.
@69 “Did you tards see how well the “free” healthcare for kids program worked out in Hawaii?”
If they took what little money you have and gave healthcare to islamobrownpeoplecommiefascist terrorist kids, then it worked out just great.
72 del
Take your hands off your ears.
ACORN is an organization running on donations and using a lot of volunteer labor. They hire people from the communities they are targeting (to put money into the comunity), who will work for very low wages (because ACORN deos not have lots of money to spend). Some of these people are not well-educated, and some (as is ineviable in any large organization) are incompetent or corrupt despite screening.
As a result, some inaccurate and/or fraudulent registrations are mixed in among the valid, legal ones. The state laws require organizations such as this to turn in ALL registrations so that orgs can’t do things like throw away all the Republican (or Democratic) registrations. ACORN flags every problem registration. None of them results in a fradulent vote. Most ACORN reistraions are fine.
That’s the plausible explanation, my friend.
I have the sneaking feeling that del is not discussng in good faith.
Here’s Sam “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher admitting that Obama’s tax plan would lower his taxes.
Heh. I asked for plausible, not unicorns and flowers coming out your ass.
“because ACORN deos [sic] not have lots of money to spend”
“Since ACORN is a private corporation, it does not divulge its finances. Further complicating any effort to calculate ACORN’s income is the fact that it operates an unknown number of front groups, many of which conceal their relationship to ACORN. But as of March 2006 ACORN claimed 175,000 member families on its website, each contributing at least $120 per year, which amounts to about $21 million in annual membership fees. ACORN’s website states, “Membership dues and a host of grassroots and chapter-based fundraising programs pay for 70 to 75 percent of the entire organization’s budget.” ”
“In recent years, ACORN has received funding from many foundations, including but not limited to the Annie E. Casey Foundation; the Minneapolis Foundation; the Open Society Institute; the Public Welfare Foundation; the Surdna Foundation; the Woods Fund of Chicago; the Scherman Foundation; and the Ben and Jerry’s Foundation.”
And Barry Obama’s campaign threw them $800k for “advance work”.
delbert @72: Which actions need a plausible explanation? What are you talking about?
re 37: I think we’ve amply demonstrated that the Republicans are not interested in honest elections. They are simply interested in winning by whatever means they can get away with — be they fair, foul, legal, or illegal.
Republican = Liar
troll = goatfucker
Delbert doesn’t want Joe the Plumber to vote.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worl.....s2008-ohio
If ACORN is so great and upstanding, why has Obama taken such great pains to hide his involvement and relationships with them?
ACORN=vote fraud
Erases any real good they might do…..
@80
“I think we’ve amply demonstrated that the Republicans are not interested in honest elections. They are simply interested in winning by whatever means they can get away with — be they fair, foul, legal, or illegal.”

Acorn=vote fraud
@82 Internet tough guy

@86 “wrong stuff only want rethuglicants to vote”
He’s another America-hater. The internet tubes are full of these weirdos. Most of them fuck goats, you know. Others, like Delbert, get their kicks with a Dino Rossi blowup doll.
Now if there is a plausible explanation for ACORN’s actions, let’s hear it…
All ACORN did was to hire people to sign up folks to vote.
Some of the people ACORN hired cut corners and didn’t do the work.
This happens in just about every company or non-profit in this country. Are they all evil?
While serious, there’s little chance of this leading to vote fraud.
This is what’s evil to a wingnut:
The more people (legal of course) who participate, the more the Limbaugh-lovers lose.
@90 “internet tough guy”
What of it? It’s not like you’re going to do anything about it, you stupid goatfucking coward.
GOP=voter suppresion
The only thing more funny and disgusting than a Dino Rossi blow up doll is a Flush Limpblows blow-up doll.
That’d crowd a wingnut off a king-sized bed.
No that’s a substitute FOR a king-sized bed.
@95 “Flush Limpblows blow-up doll”
Rightstuff certainly has the hot air to blow that sucker up.
96 – LMAO!!!
Irregular or even invalid voter registrations DO NOT EQUAL vote fraud
States validate voter registrations every day of the year. They do not result in fraudulent votes. If you think they do, it is incumbent upon you to prove that hey do. Not a single solitary piece of eviddence has been presented so far that they do.
On the other hand, there has been plenty of evidence presented to indicate that Republicans use concerns about voter registration to gin up hysteria over “vote fraud,” and pressured US attorneys to prosecute NONEXISTENT vote fraud for their own political gain. When honorable US attorneys refused to tak epart in this politicization of our public resources, they were fired.
If you look for facts, it’s pretty fucking damning for Republicans.
@93 Once again…keep it up tough guy, you’re tough….
you can type swear words….
98 – Wingnuts are not interested in facts. An important distinctions between liars and bullshit artists: a liar knows what the truth is, a bullshitter doesn’t care what the truth is.
Wingnuts are bullshitters.
It’s completely disingenuous that those on the right get all up in arms over the sanctity of the “vote” and yet turn a complete deaf ear and blind eye to the congressional testimony of Monica Goodling when she confessed Karl Rove was involved in “voter caging” in Florida during the 2004 presidential election.
The term caging comes for direct mail marketers. Basically, it means segregating mailing lists by geographical area.
What area’s did they cage in Florida? Good question. Typically low-income black areas that had high concentrations of military service personnel.
Why target black soldier? Great question. Because typically by race they vote Democrat and by military distinction they were overseas fighting in Iraq and couldn’t prove they weren’t a resident so their votes simply did not count when they were challenged by the Republicans who do not support the troops.
Voter caging is illegal, but isn’t it curious to the right wing whack jobs that the Bush DOJ didn’t investigate this matter?????
Normally, I’d say a big GO FUCK YOURSELF. But, you know what? Nothing to get angry about any more. The brilliance of our Liberal founding fathers wisdom is proving itself once again. And, as the Reagan Republicans watch the last glimmer of sunlight fade on their dynasty they’re becoming increasingly angry.
I don’t’ blame you. In 2010 when you do not regain any part of congress and the wheels of progress generated by the Democrats rolls over the top of your rotting corpses, you’ll have to rethink your entire political agenda and America will be safe again for another 40 years at least.
Thank you, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine and the rest of my Liberal founding fathers. Your wisdom will ensure that I’ll go to my grave knowing that Liberals are in charge of America’s prosperity again and we will not fail future generations of Americans like the Reagan Republicans did.
@99 “you can type swear words…”
And you being an America-hating troll, fuck goats.
99 – What’s wrong RS? Aren’t you going to keep running the right wing bullshit tape for our entertainment?
Where’s the Ayers? How about the “Obama is a muslim” meme? What about mixing in some ACORN?
Yep. Even ranting that some ACORN-collecetd voter registrations are invalidaed, they still registered one fuck of a lot of low-income and minority legal voters who sure as shit aren’t gonna vote for grampy McSaGme.
The funnniest part is, Obama doesn’t even need the extra voters to win.
You can call Obama anything you want, but on November 5 you’re gonna be calling him “Mr. President-Elect.”
Obama has, among his other huge advantages, a nationwide networks of lawyers fighting GOP voter suppression.
I hope President Obama puts his U.S. Attorneys to work prosecuting GOP voting suppression operatives for civil rights crimes and election fraud.
@87 “Geez, what a surprise, another America-hating, goatfucking, commie-fascist twit shows up at HA.”
Nah, he’s been here before; he’s just one of our same old America-hating, goatfucking, commie-fascist twits.
@105 “Obama has, among his other huge advantages, a nationwide networks of lawyers fighting GOP voter suppression.”
On the other hand, McCain has RightStuff and his buddy, the Flush Limpblows blow-up doll.
@106 I’d like to see Iglesias or McKay as Obama’s AG.
@ 104:
“President-elect Obama” has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
Yeah it does.
Know what else sounds good? A filibuster proof majority preventing the Reagan Republicans from obstructing the progress of America.
I cannot wait for Nancy Pelosi with her SAN FRANCISCO values grind out all sorts of WAY WAY left legislation, and Senate Majority leader Reid overriding the whiners, and President Obama signing all KINDS of Pelosi legislation into LAW.
Oh, and I cannot WAIT for Hillary Rodham Clinton to be appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
Yes, revenge is best served cold, and who could be colder than the woman who has put up with the more Reagan Republican bullshit than anyone else.
Mmmmm . . . mmmmm. . . mmmmm!!!
See ya wouldn’t wanna be ya!!
Steve aka Rog Rabbit..
Don’t you get tired of changing your identity??
This is a clear example of ATHEIST LEFTIST thinking…
You can post on HA using multiple identities..
Then by God, you can vote twice or more too!
Mr. Cynical:
Don’t you know that 4 out of 2 people in Seattle vote Democat??
Baaa haaa haaa haaa haaa.
Hey, risky play on JRCC, but it looks like it paid off. Sure is odd that someone who was holding stocks for 1 year + to avoid capital gains is all of a sudden a contratian investor in one of the most volitale markets ever. We’ve never seen VIX as high as it is now.
You bullshitting paper trader.

@112 “Baaa”
Careful there, GBS. Don’t be giving Cynical the wrong idea.
109 Steve
They won’t be. They’re Republicans. As realtively admirable as they are.
@115 Yeah, he might think GBS is his wife and you’re me.
110 GBS
Hillary on the Supreme Court? DAMN!!
@110 “Yes, revenge is best served cold”
I hear that Obama plans on rounding up all the nation’s treasonous goatfuckers and putting them in Gitmo for some aquatic thought correction therapy.
@111 “Steve aka Rog Rabbit”
Stupid goatfucker.
re 86: You’ve never answered my question. How does a bogus voter registration translate into an illegal vote?
And, if you can figure out a way to do it, how would that be done on a scale massive enough to affect an election?
I refer you to this article:
http://www.salon.com/news/feat ure/2008/10/15/voter_suppressi on/
“Behind the GOP’s voter fraud hysteria
As Republicans warn of catastrophe at the polls, an expert on election fraud explains the real partisan hoax — the suppression of Democratic votes.”
By Andrew Burmon
@115 The Goodling DOJ hires would shit their pants.

More from AP on your upstanding man, Rep. Tim Mahoney (DEMOCRAT-Florida):
Rep. Mahoney admits affairs, says he broke no laws
By BRIAN SKOLOFF, Associated Press Writer Brian Skoloff, Associated Press Writer –
“
Y’all must be real proud of Mahoney.
He’s a real piece of work boy.
I’m sure you ATHEIST KLOWNS see no problem with Mahoney’s actions or his response…after all, when you are your own God, you can justify anything!! Right ATHEIST KLOWNS??
@122 “He’s a real piece of work boy.”
You Republican pedos and goatfuckers sure do get worked up into a lather when a Democrat has sex with a consenting adult. Why is that? Oh, of course…

http://www.newshounds.us/2005/.....htwing.php
Of course, Cynical, there’s also the public toilet wing of the Republican party, guys like Bob Allen who solicited an undercover black cop in a Florida park toilet. He offered the cop $20 if he could blow him.
http://blogs.orlandosentinel.c.....convi.html
Yup, he’s a real piece of work, goat-boy. Y’all must be real proud of Bob Allen.
Then you’ve got the penis-pump wing of the Republican party.

Busted!!
112. GBS spews:
“Mr. Cynical:

GBS–aka Gutless Bastard Sackless
I have made about 15 short-term trades. All profitable. I made my move all out of the market last year when it hit 14,000. Several of the guru’s I follow said at the time, “market trending downward long-term with increasing volatility”.
That was clearly an all-out signal on my Long-term investments…comprende?
I started doing the short-term plays about 6 months ago or so when the message was…
“buy good stocks on big dips & sell into the rallies.”
This ain’t genius stuff GBS.
The only real questionable stock I traded was JRCC. BTW, thanks for the tip.
Highly volatile…but with some underlying value.
Right now, I’m sitting on Wells Fargo & Waste Management. I have a bunch of Max. CD’s outside my Retirement Fund coming due starting November 10th. It may be a perfect time to go nearly all in again. The CD’s are staggered every couple weeks for 3 months or so.
BTW…
I did some of my early ST trades outside my Retirement Account. When I became more confident, I realized that was dumb because I was paying 35% ST Capital Gains Tax.
So the last 8 I’ve done in my Retirement Account. Will pay tax when I take it out…starting in a few years.
You KLOWNS can be as doubting as you like…it probably makes you feel good, right? Better than being overcoming by jealousy…and remorse for not doing it yourself. I understand. Being Sackless is a recipe for staying just above water….treading like the Bastards you are. But why not be like Michael Phelps….and swim!
Life is a series of decisions. I have been very conservative over the years. My $$ comes from a couple all in and all out stock market moves at the right time…and buying real estate back in the mid-70’s when it was cheap and being a landlord (often a pain in the ass).
We all put our britches on one leg at a time. Some of us just have more “sack” than others.
Comprende??
steve aka Rog Rabbit–
This goat thingy you are obsessed with may have some baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad long-term side effects for you.
When are pretend to be a rabbit, then show an obsession with goats…it’s kind of creepy.
I’m just guessing steve aka Rog Rabbit…but it sounds like yer Mama was a goat and yer Daddy was a Rabbit. No wonder you are ill Rog.
@126 Here’s a tip for ya straight from Ol’ Sigmund – your delusions have a lousy future.
@127 “baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”
What the fuck? Are you calling your goat??
Make-believe ranch. Make-believe stock trades. Your life must really suck, Cynical.
Being a legal immigrant and an American citizen, I am ashamed of all these people, especially govt officials, judges who condone and promote fraud voter to register all over the U.S. and support the ACORN organization. By doing this, the U.S. is now the laughing stock worldwide! Where is the traditional American belief that made this country great? Unfortunately, the democrats, liberals, terrorists and anti-Americans are destroying that foundation. Wake up America, if we support this liberal ideals, Obama’s economic socialist plan and giving our hard-earned money to everybody who does not work for it, who else will be left? Have you seen poor people hire employees? Where will Obama get the money to give equality… Through taxpayers. I will believe him if Obama will give his salary,financial incentives and future pension to these poor people who are not paying taxes.
Maybe I should start an organization that will boycott any products, businesses located in Ohio. I will tell every friends, relatives, customers, business associates to not do business with Ohio!
Unfortunately, the democrats, liberals, terrorists and anti-Americans are destroying that foundation.
Nope you got it totally wrong.
