2 of the 9 City Council members will be appointed rather than elected come July when Cathy Moore steps down. I have not been impressed with her, but I do think elections are the way to replace people, not stepping down mid term.
Dow Constantine, too. Although it being later in his term that he already wasn’t running for reelection isn’t quite the same. And Sound Transit wasn’t going to wait for a new CEO. It is an important job and important to fill with the right person, but so is King County Executive.

Hey…it’s TACO Tuesday. And that means the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally will get together to discuss politics and whatnot over a drink.
We meet tonight and every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern, 2409 10th Ave E, Seattle. You’ll find us in the back room of the pub or, more likely, out on the back patio. We start at 8:00pm.
Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the place…if you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, stop by another chapter near you.
