It is fascinating that a few days after Ol’ Jeb is made to look like the asshole he is with the autopsy report, he decides that the cause of her death 15 years ago is worthy of investigation.

I rarely watch PBS, but I bumped into it tonight, and saw NOW, and it was interesting. That in Florida, when a case is politically motivated, Jeb cuts all the Red Tape, as in the case of the 13 year old Ward Of The State that got pregnant. Suddenly all the access to medical and psych tests DCF had not allowed, happened.
Also, on a side note, they were talking to the judge in this other case, who was Catholic. He said if he used his faith to rule on everything, he could not be a judge.
I guess life means nothing to you. There are a lot of questions surrounding this case. Several times the state tried to get involved and She was moved away. One thing is clear about this case. You have people that say allowing someone to starve to death is acceptable. BUt turn off an air conditioner you are killing someone. You can not have it both ways. If you think it is OK a person who is a burden to a Husband. Then is it OK to kill a 3 month old baby. You have college professors out east that want to do just that. If a mother doesnt want the child she should have the right to kill it. because it is a burden. Yet to terrorists who are being questioned it being a Nazi. So no one dies in Cuba yet we allow killing of unprotected people because of convience. Who are the NAZI’s in this case. Nazi’s killed people and accepted killing the mentally retarded, the Old, THose who where disabled and in bed. THose who were a burden to society. Oh yes and the Jews. The only group I see that are Nazi related are those who advocate death because they are a burden. Where are your rights then. What happens if the 1000000 aids infected people become a burden to society. THey are because we are spending more money on aids research than nearly all other disease combined. In the Nazi world they would be considered a burden. If you are in a nursing home you are a burden. If you are in a hospital terminally ill trying a new procedure for a cure well why bother you are a burden. The term burden can go a long ways.
So what is the answer does a person who is a burden have the same protections as a person in Death Row. Right now they dont. A mass murder in prison can be on death row for decades. Yet a sick person could considered brain dead in a week and killed. Yet people thought to be brain dead sometimes come out of a coma in a few years. But is it worth the BURDEN? I believe in right to LIFE. I dont believe in BURDEN to society.
Man if this case doesn’t show you just exactly how scarrrrry it would be to have the Talbian Christian Right in charge of the whole country, nothing does.
The good news here is that the right’s abuse of Terri’s case for political gain has hurt them in every poll I’ve seen. And I guess the autopsy report saying “There was no evidence of abuse by Terri’s husband – or anyone else.” is all we really need to know.

When this pathetic little piece of grandstanding gets dragged through the MSM for a few more days or weeks, Jeb’s image will just sink a little lower among reasonable people. I dearly hope it finishes him off as a likely contender.
Outboard – there are NO questions surrounding this case. The autopsy report and 10 years of exhaustive litigation answered ALL of the questions — and debunked ALL of the right wing lies. All that’s left now is politics. If Florida has ethics rules similar to Washington’s, the prosecutor could be disbarred for bringing a frivolous, politically motivated case against Michael Schiavo. I suspect when his law license is on the line, he will tell Jeb to go to hell.
There’s a larger issue. For 225 years, Americans have agreed to settle their differences in court, the one major exception being the Civil War. That’s our system — and when you’ve had your day in court and the judge or jury has spoken, it’s over. What we’re seeing now is that Republicans don’t want to accept the rule of law or decisions by our courts. When their bullshit is put to the test of evidence and shown to be bullshit, they go right on their way — still disputing the Schiavo case, still dispute Rossi’s defeat — and when laws get in their way they simply ignore the Constitution and break the lawm as we’ve seen at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo. Liberals need to be arming themselves for the day when Republicans drop all pretense of respecting our Constitution, laws, and courts; abolish elections; declare a Fascist dictatorship; and begin rounding up their opponents for elimination.

You may not believe there are any questions. If her husband had allowed a CatScan it would have showed a shrunken brain. It is the constant blocking of the Husband. It is the way he conducted himself. If he really loved his wife and wanted to do the right thing why would he block some basic testing. It would never made national news if he had not blocked Her family from having a doctor of their choice to exam her. The autopsy showed a lot of different things but many of the tests available would have showed the same thing and the family would not have fought so hard if they thought she had no chance. He never gave the family (Who would have paid for the doctor.) a chance to do an independent examination.
If you were at a bank and wanted to have an accountant go over your accounts and the bank said no would you not be suspicious of the bank.
The bank would not do that. Most doctors recommend a second opinion. Why was the family not allowed to do so? It would put to rest a lot of questions. If you act like you are hiding something then you have a problem with others believing what you have to say. If you act guilty you may or may not be guilty. Yet if you are accused of a crime and you are innocient would you not have lie detector test done immediately to prove your innocience. Or do you live with the accusation of being a criminal.
Just some things to think about. THat is why I have questions about the case. It was the Husbands actions and blocking an independent review. Was he hidding something or not. I dont know he will have to answer for this actions at another time. I am not his judge I am just questioning his actions.

Outboard: Everyone here knows how much I hate having to agree with any part of donnageddon’s words. It is distasteful to my core being. But the last CAT Scan was 2002 from what I can determine. Terri had CAT Scans in 1996 and 2002. She did not have MRI or PET scans. Why Michael didn’t put this to rest I have no idea, but as I stated earlier this week, he is the husband and it’s his decision. Unfortunately, Michael could have let the parents have their last hurrah and then buried them!

c)About 40 judges in six courts were involved in the case at one point or another. Six times, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to intervene…Over the years, the Schindlers had sought independent investigation of their daughter’s condition and what caused it. Abuse complaints to state social workers were ruled unfounded and the Pinellas state attorney’s office did not turn up evidence of abuse.
The last point needs to be written in CRAYON for Jeb and the rest of you fools that cant seem to swallow the fact that 15 years of Floridas “finest” found no reason to punish the husband. Whats so difficult to understand about this?
