Would the last reporter who leaves Olympia please turn out the lights?

by Goldy — Monday, 9/29/08, 2:25 pm

Chris Mulick has written his last blog post for the Tri-City Herald… or anything else for that matter, announcing that he’s turning in his press credentials tomorrow to take a public information post with the state Senate Democratic caucus.

I can’t point to one single reason that fueled this decision. There are many factors involved in the complex equation.

But certainly, the financial troubles plaguing this industry have created considerable uncertainty. And while the Herald has given me every assurance my job is safe in this bureau it’s unsettling how quickly the unthinkable has become reality in this business. With a young family, I’ve no choice but to risk jumping too soon. I simply can’t risk jumping too late.

Pretty soon the press houses in Olympia will consist of little more than Rich Roesler and Brad Shannon chatting with each other via a couple tin cans and a taut length of string.

Yet another Washington political reporter leaving the business, and only six weeks before one of the most consequential elections in history.  This really sucks.

Of course there’s no liberal bias in the media.

Just because another reporter makes it official by going to work for a democrat isn’t proof. Official defined by collecting a check directly from a democrat.

If you’re going to do the same job, might as well work at the one that pays best.

    This really sucks

What really sucks is there won’t be enough left biased voices in the newspaper to shape public opinion if this trend continues

You can’t find anything in the mainstream papers or on the tv news but tons of left wing economists offering alternatives to the proposed bailout. I’m also sick of all the peace activists on tv talking about how we should cut down the war budget.

Yup Marvin…a real bummer for Goldy and the Dems.
Before, the Tri-City Herald was paying Mulick to write propaganda for Gregoire and the Dems.

NOW….the Dems have to dig in their coffers to pay him.

I really get a kick out of all these reporters leaving for LEFTIST organization gigs….after trying to convince us they were not biased.
    Pretty funny stuff.

Goldy will have to once again beg for $$ donations.

Can’t democrats ever use their own money for something?

Another great liberal Martin Sheen comes out against Initiative 1000.

Listen to his radio ad opposing assisted suicide.

I heard Eric Smith, an old political reporter for the Tri-City Herald, recently applied to do the same job for the Republicans (no word on if he got the job).
