What I did tonight

by Goldy — Friday, 4/23/10, 10:37 pm

I’m not much for crowded bars and loud music, but tonight I went out to the Sunset Tavern to hear Dan Bern play live. Loads of fun. And he played several songs I never heard before, including the one above: “Osama in Obamaland.”

    I’m glad you finally got to see Dan in person. Hopefully, he’ll make good on his promise to be back in town soon.

    Maybe Dan can write a song “Capitalism beats Socialism”?

    “Sixty percent (60%) of U.S. adults nationwide say that capitalism is better than socialism. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 18% disagree, while 21% are not sure.”

    Q: Why should banks hold all the capital?

    A: Because that’s the way it’s always been.

    Goldy is always touting the diversity of the Rainier Valley, but I never hear him talk about going to any events in his own community.

    We know you like the Montlake Ale House in Montlake, and the Sunset Tavern in Ballard. Tell us about which diverse Rainier Valley bars you frequent.

    @2

    You know what’s great…You’re back on the Rassmussen.

    You know what’s great part 2? Polling esoteric political/economic theory questions. I bet similar results could be gleaned by asking “Which is better, a Federal Bicameral parliamentary system or the the U.S. Constitution.”

    Hey, while were on polls…

    The Kaiser Family Foundation has new poll out on Healthcare

    Among the interesting findings Americans approval of the recently passed lesislation, 46% Favorable, 40% unfavorable, 14% undecided.

    Favorability of individual elements in the plan when asked separately are polling at 60% or higher on most issues. Some elements poll over 80%

    Do you think your family will be better or worse off under HCR? 31% Better, 32% Worse, 30% No Difference. Voters under 65, AKA the future, 34% better, 30% worse, 28% no difference.

    So RUN ON THAT REPEAL!!! It’s a WINNER! Republicanism…a dying ideology for the ederly.

    @8 I can’t imagine Troll having a wife, except maybe in Outer Kreepistan where daughters are treated as chattels and sold into arranged marriages at age 8.
