Soon to close on a home in Delaware (a week from tomorrow) with a 4.5% 30 year fixed rate. Locked in about 2-3 months ago. It would have be less than the 4.5% if employer was cooperative with a generic letter to state that I could work remotely and claim Primary residence down here. The 4.5% rate is based on second residency status.
Back in February my employer of 34 years put me on a Performance Improvement Plan becuase my current boss (new to the Company and only in his 3rd year) felt threatened by me and for his own position. And at that point they didn’t want to provide the generic letter that they were most likely going to do before the hissy fit. I probably would be closing with 3.5%. All that happened about 3 months ago. Things are patched up. An attack on Guam is part of Chinese planning for a military takeover of Taiwan, along with attacks on bases in Japan and South Korea.
Constructing alternate facilities and dispersing our military assets in the region has a deterrent effect by making a knockout blow harder to achieve. Lessons learned: One of the key mistakes at Pearl Harbor was bunching our aircraft, making them easy targets.
However, rather than destroying aircraft, Chinese military planners may be thinking more in terms of cratering runways to render them unusable. Don’t have to kill Americans to do that. That’s how the British neutralized Argentine air power in the Falklands War.

29,
You don’t seem to understand, Steve.
You are supposed to recognize that Degen was, eventually, at least partially, correct-ish when seven months ago he moved the entirety of his “vast” fortune into Cryptoland and Krugerrands.
Ignoring all the other complex elements of his strategic blunders, you are then supposed to fall to your knees, reject democracy, reject “all Democrats” and submit to your fascist overlords forever.
The two may have nothing to do with each other. But that isn’t the point. By Degen’s reasoning, and his carefully constructed framing, he can be completely wrong, over and over and over again, for many years. But he only has to be “right” (in the vaguest possible sense) one single time and he wins forever.
Does that sound at all familiar? Perhaps it wouldn’t to anyone who is not a degenerate gambler. But this really is how it works for gambling addicts. Right now Degen is experiencing an overwhelming endorphin rush that, for him at least, completely compensates for all of his previous losses. In his mind he’s a triumphant winner and has vanquished all “the libs” forever. Degenerate gamblers go through the same thing. They lose for weeks, even months on end, and go deep into debt while the best parts of their lives crumble or walk away. Then finally they hit “the big score” that doesn’t even get them back to even. But they don’t care. The high they experience is worth it to them.
Trust me. He’d be feeling exactly the same way and posting the same comment if an Black antifa trans muslim had just shot up a kindergarten. And let’s face it. As abundant and as unrestricted as guns are in America, and as frequently as school shootings occur, that scenario is one that is almost statistically certain too eventually.
In an open records production lawsuit, the taxpayer funded, Republican created Wisconsin 2020 election probe is now the second such probe to have been found in contempt, facing criminal charges, and the head of the probe facing disbarment.
The former Republican state supreme court judge hand-picked by Trump to lead the “fraudit” was pulling down $11,000 per month from Wisconsin taxpayers while falsifying and destroying election records and defying state public records laws. In court yesterday he was finally found in contempt and referred for disbarment in a heated exchange with the courtroom judge.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A dozen children and two adults were served floor sealant instead of milk at a day care summer program at an Alaska elementary school after containers were apparently mixed up, the school district superintendent said Wednesday.
Several students complained of burning sensations in their mouth and throats, and at least one child was treated at a hospital after the Tuesday morning incident in Juneau, Superintendent Bridget Weiss said.

This little nothingburger in the stock market just puts the market where it should be, nothing more than a correction to what was over inflated bubble. Just look at the graph and draw the average line.
Sure there’s a shitload of uncertainty right now so it might go lower but I think it’s going to start to flatten after maybe another bit of a drop

Bob you are always wrong. You’ve never been right in your life.
Now that I’ve had time to look at (stumbled upon) Goldy’s retweet regarding Mayor Pete that you commented on (I was actually driving on the NJ Turnpike when I first read and respond via my hand held device)……I can tell you that I actually think it’s fair criticsm. In fact, about 2-3 days ago I thought to myself that I haven’t heard much about the success of the Infrastructure Bill. This Administration (Mayor Pete the head of Transportation) has done a shitty job, very shitty job at letting Americans know where the Infrastructure Spending Bill is being spent and whether successful…..leaving me to believe that it is a complete failure.
With that said, the guy is an intelligent guy, more inteligent than you ever could be or ever will be. And as a Presidential candidate in the past election, was as qualified or even more qualified than the rest of the Dem field.
And he’s no Fascist Pig like your FuckHump and the rest of the GOP and you.
Suck on that instead of BBHC.

People complaining about the price of gas while doing 80-90 mph on the highway should be shot. The stupidity of the American people.
Not only are you wasting your own money, but you are increasing the demand of resources and dwindiling the supply. What does that mean to them? They don’t know, they are too stupid – maybe they need to borrow Bob’s math calculator.

@44 Was chatting with an elderly neighbor today. He was a union guy in Operating Engineers. Helped build I-90. For years, I’ve stopped by his place to shoot the breeze on my daily walks, because he’s alone, has health problems, and needs cheering up. We never talked about politics before, but I know he watches Fox. Well, he brought up gas prices, and I was really shocked when he said Biden should be shot for “shutting down all the American oil wells” and making us buy Russian oil. Apparently that’s what Fox is spoonfeeding to people. I couldn’t believe how angry he was. Said he hates the Democrats. I tried reasoning with him, but he just kept getting angrier. I think a friendship just ended, because I can’t deal with that. Fox is tearing this country apart and setting neighbor against neighbor.

And not just petrol are they wasting….they’re getting less mileage out of their tires. What’s that do for the demand of tires and the price of tires, already inflated doe to petrol source of tires.

@46 Anyone regularly buying stocks welcomes lower stock prices. Bob’s hissy fit over the falling market probably means he regularly sells stocks to keep the lights on. Same with his griping about gas prices. I don’t worry about gas prices; I can afford gas with no problem. It must suck to be as poor as he is.
Ggggggeeee Money! spews:
Bob likes to project. He projects his fanatasies to such BBC so he’s settled for BBHC. He porjects that others are poor. He tells me that I better not buy a house because of recession and that I won’t be able to retire.
Bob likens his view points with his own personal experience, as if everyone is like him. Suck to be as poor as him, that he can’t afford gas, and that he can’t afford to live on a real island or one that has less white trash. Suck to be him that he’s worried that he must have to go back to work.
See I don’t think everyone is like me. I know I am more fortunate than the majority of people, maybe even more fortunate than 70% of Americans. One, I have more wealth and two, they’re all dumber than I.

How’s the republican star doing in Georgia?
Herschel Walker, Critic of Absentee Dads, Has Yet ANOTHER Secret Son—and a Daughter | It turns out that Herschel Walker doesn’t have just one kid, or two kids, or even three kids. He has four.

“I want to apologize to the African-American community, because the fatherless home is a major, major problem,” Walker said in a September 2020 interview.
I find it hypocritical for republicans to savage Nancy Pelosi for getting a hair style without a mask, but give a pass to a republican for fathering children and ignoring them.
“The pattern belies a deep hypocrisy. As The Daily Beast reported, Walker has made a point over the years to criticize absentee fathers, beseeching parents in multiple addresses to “hug your child.””
He may still win, but not because he’s a shining example of republican virtue signaling.

Gianforte’s office has said he left for a personal trip outside of the country with his wife before heavy rains deluged southwest Montana, washing away bridges, sweeping buildings into rushing rivers and closing entrances to Yellowstone National Park — the region’s premiere tourist attraction and a pillar of its summertime economy. Gianforte’s spokeswoman has declined to disclose his whereabouts or specify when the Republican will return, saying in a statement on Wednesday only that he would be “returning early and as quickly as possible.”
