I wasn’t too worried when the legislature didn’t pass a permanent drug possession bill. I would have preferred money and effort to get people help. Still, we shouldn’t criminalize addiction. And sometimes no solution can be better than a bad solution just to make a deadline. But man, some of the localities that would fill the void. Gross on toast.

    Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis sent a letter to local law enforcement Monday asking them to be ready for “heightened security and preparedness” during the summer, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. She plans to announce “charging decisions resulting from the investigation my office has been conducting into possible criminal interference in the administration of Georgia’s 2020 General Election” between July 11 and September 1.

    “We have seen in recent years that some may go outside of public expressions of opinion that are protected by the First Amendment to engage in acts of violence that will endanger the safety of those we are sworn to protect,” Willis said in the letter. “As leaders, it is incumbent upon us to prepare.”

    While she never mentions Trump or any of his allies by name, it is clear that she has her sights set on the former president and his inner circle.

    As for the Bolt, it’s not going away at least until Model year 2025 and in the meantime the competition among EV sales is getting hotter which is why Elon dropped the price of the model Y again setting off today’s stock dump. So far the plan is to launch the Equinox with a newly designed battery pack and a range of 300mi while the bolt is 260mi and have it in showrooms before the end of this year. The Equinox is similarly priced to the Bolt. Good of you to act like the eventual phase out of the Bolt means GM is surrendering to Tesla.

    Majoros would not confirm timing for when the Bolt EVs will exit the lineup, but he said, “It’s going to be with us for the foreseeable future and as we ramp portfolio, then we’ll see about the long game for that, so … more to come.”

    And so here, Governor Fat Midget has, through his state legislature, passed a law creating a new school district to replace the school district he doesn’t like, staffed with his own hand-picked hatchet men, and changing a few other operating requirements for the “charter school” operated by a private company.

    But if the preexisting lawfully recognized board, as the legal authority representing the public to the private company operating the school, had entered into lawful, binding contracts with that private company prior to its dissolution, the private company would be entitled to enforce those agreements – per pupil funding for lunches, for example. And any subsequent public authority seeking to vacate those agreements would have to first establish the legal authority to do so under the terms of the agreements and prevailing state laws. And they could still be sued for doing so if the private company can establish damages. So the effect is to limit what the new board can do to fuck with the private “charter school” operator. Bigly.

    Had Disney not gone through the pro-forma effort to obtain the legal agreements from Reedy Creek prior to its dissolution that would not be possible – or at least it would be incredibly difficult to do without the agreement and cooperation of the State of Florida, which ain’t likely. Because the state operated new board would enjoy specific legal immunities from civil suit for money damages. Yes, these are basically legal chess moves, rather than fight-ending knockout blows, etc. But these are very good chess moves. And the lawyers for the state are not keeping up.

That was all met. Obviously. And very easily Reedy used some very local weekly shopping news. Cronies all missed it because they are not local.

    Of course the best approach for Fat Midget will be to challenge the legality of the agreements. That takes lots of work that is still ahead for them.     So Reedy Creek at the 2020 census had 24 residents, all Disney employees. So if a single household of 2 adults and a child have a subscription, the requirement is met. If any 3 addresses have subscriptions the requirement is met.
    There is no requirement to mail a notice to all land owners IF it was published in the Orlando Sentinel. Ron is blustering for a reason why he CLAIMS the new board can just nullify the contract.

    Now it’s possible that Disney’s very expensive lawyers were unable to read the statute like you and didn’t have this covered by, say, paying a couple hundred a month to have the hand picked employees that live in Reedy Creek get the local paper.
