– Seattle has some pretty good projects, the street cars, the light rail, bike lanes on the waterfront. But they all need to do a better job connecting so that it’s a proper network.

– Glad Nick Brown is on it, but man the Department of Homeland Security under the Trump Administration just taking health data is so awful.

– Spokane banning ICE warrantless on government property seems like so little in the face of what ICE is doing and also a good step.

– Mid 70’s today and through the long weekend, Seattle has lucked out.

– Hey, hey. Write or call your legislator or member of Congress.

Tesla Q2 vehicle deliveries are down 14%, QoS McHillbilly wants me to admit. So, sure. They’re down.

How’s the market taking the news? Pretty well:

    Tesla Inc
    TSLA:NASDAQ

RT Quote | Last NASDAQ LS, VOL From CTA | USD
    Last | 11:41 AM EDT
    313.63
    quote price arrow up 12.92 ( 4.30%)

    Up arrow, indeed.

So, let’s say that’s the cost of going Trump.

What, then, is the cost of going woke?

Just ask Jaguar, which decided to outdo Dylan Mulvaney in Full Metal Tranny:

    Charles V Payne
    @cvpayne
Remember that Jaguar rebranding (the creepy one)?
    1:34 PM · Jun 30, 2025

The result was a 97.5% sales decline in Europe.

97.5% of Jaguar’s former target audience decided they like it when naked women make their penis hard, and they have no use for chicks with dicks, or men who have had theirs surgically removed.

Stupidity should be painful. Proving this, Jaguar will never recover from going woke.

    Rivian’s Q2 was worse than Tesla’s.

Rivian delivered 10,661 vehicles in the quarter ended June 30, a fall of 22.7% from the same quarter last year…

QoS McHillbilly wants you to know that a model refresh is behind this decline. He also wants you to know that a model refresh forthcoming at Tesla has nothing to do with Tesla’s comp sales decline.

The Trump administration is withholding more than $6 billion in federal money …

    I don’t blame the administration.

Virginia is the 12th largest state with 8.8 million residents. Virginia spends $591,781 on migrant education.

Washington is the 13th largest state with 7.95 million residents.
Washington spends $37,992,820 on migrant education.

[These figures are from a link in the AP piece which was linked to in the piece Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit did not read before spewing.]

So here’s my question: Shouldn’t the federal government, before doling out all of that money, try to learn why Washingon state spends nearly 100x per capita what Virginia spends on migrant education? Because Randi Weingarten is heap big mad about the loss of that money, meaning it sure wasn’t allocated to help students. It was allocated to enrich teachers.

This is why the voters preferred Donald Trump.

Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit, why should the federal migrant education funding be nearly 100x per capita different between these states?

The migrant job differences justify roughly 1.25x or 1.3x more, per capita, to WA than to VA. So why nearly 100x more?

The key word in your spew is options, Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit.

Volatility = profitability when options are traded. Each and every time people like QoS McHillbilly amplify a news item about TSLA the shares become more volatile and the market whipsaws them.

This drives up options premium prices and increases the gains from naked option sales. The reward is not without risk, certainly, but much of the volatility is politically driven. Discard that, use good judgement, and you get to sell naked calls for more than $90 a contract when the shares spike.

Free money, courtesy of the shrill QoS McHillbilly. Why shouldn’t I take advantage of his whining?

In about two months since QoS McHillbilly started spewing about The Tesla Takedown, shares have risen $80 bucks each.

You were aware that jaguar discontinued almost its entire line in favor of an all electric fleet, and their ultra luxury sedan? And that they stopped producing cars altogether at the end of 2024 in order to rebrand as this new all electric company with product that has not yet been released?

Of course, not you just saw headline on IBD times and immediately took it at face value good job.

Will the strategy work? No one knows but hundreds of millions of dollars of shareholder value is still under the impression that it will. Jaguar Land Rover is a subsidiary of India’s Tata. +4 (.58%) on the day.

What is it about that ad that makes your dick hard? Is it coded because it’s shot on a pink background?

The ad is seven months old and Jaguar with steep discounts on now discontinued models had well over previous years sales in Jan/Feb (+35% 2/25 over 24). So people scooped up discount jaguars and then suddenly noticed a seven year-old ad and said oh well now that they’ve sold nearly all their cars we’re gonna stop buying them.

    Stock expert strikes again.

But anyone viewing a chart of Tesla’s stock price gyrations will immediately see that trading Tesla options is pure gambling.

    No, it’s not.

Say you hold 100 shares of TSLA at $315, you’ve held them since purchase at $150, and you have a different use for the equity in the shares coming up, like a new car or a hot tub or a jewelry purchase for Valentines Day. You might sell a covered call with a strike price of, say, $350, which would give you a $200 gain on the share purchase, expiring in January. For the premium you collect for the option sale you agree to forego any appreciation of the shares above $350 during the contract period, should the shares be called away from you.

Right now, Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit, someone will purchase that covered call from you at $41.65/share, which puts $4,165 in your pocket for a 100 share contract, right now, in exchange for your agreement. Your only “risk” is that the value of the shares declines between now and the expiration date. But that price drop would have to exceed $41.65/share for you to lose money.

That’s not gambling, Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit, because merely by continuing to hold the shares, even without an options contract, you incur the same risk of loss.

Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit, you see options trading as gambling because you misunderstand many of the reasons for options trading. Alaska Airlines does it to smooth out the price of jet fuel. Conagra does it to smooth out the price of feed. Farmers do it to lock in a price of seed next Spring and to lock in a gain from harvest in the Fall.

Stick with utilities stocks, Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit. Your family cannot afford your investment ignorance. It does provide great entertainment value in these parts, tho.

@24 The argument against trading the options is you have no way of knowing which way the stock price will go within the confined time period of the options contract.

You own a stock because, based on your knowledge of the business and your study of sales and earnings trends, you can make a rough estimate of future returns, which of course may be wrong, which is why you diversify your holdings. And if a stock goes underwater, you can hold it until it recovers.

If you do your homework, you can end up with a portfolio like mine, where of 36 stocks only 4 are losing money, 2 of them less than $200, and profits outnumber losses 76 to 1.

Trading options on a volatile stock like TSLA is a dice roll. If a stock is sure to go up, you can’t place a bet on it going up, because no one will take the other side of the trade. A free market balances risk and reward, and the house takes a cut off the top. And because options traders trade far more frequently than shareholders, they pay a lot more to the house.

Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), who in May voted against the House GOP’s version of President Trump’s megabill, said Wednesday that he’s a “yes” on the Senate-passed legislation.

Why? Because he loves Trump and hates Democrats:

“I got to say, no one puts a deal together like President Trump, he’s a master. But I think one of the other persuasive things was just looking at the Democrats’ reaction to it,” he said. “Maybe the bill is better than I thought. Democrats’ reaction helped me persuade that, wow, maybe this bill does, does do some really good things.”

The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) said Wednesday they were preparing to initiate a $1 million lawsuit on behalf of a U.S. citizen detained in Los Angeles after recording a raid at a local Home Depot store.

The civil rights organization filed a claim against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regarding the treatment of Job Garcia, 37, a Ph.D. student and photographer.

MALDEF said immigration officers threw Garcia on the ground, then knelt on his back and neck as they handcuffed him for recording the raid and advising a commercial truck driver being questioned not to exit his vehicle or answer questions from law enforcement.

He was held in custody for more than 24 hours, according to the organization. He said that at no time did the agents warn him to move away or to stop recording before his arrest.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said Garcia assaulted and verbally harassed a Border Patrol agent and would be prosecuted to the fullest extent. “He was subdued and arrested for assault on a federal agent,” McLaughlin told The Hill.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5382868-u-s-citizen-seeks-1-million-after-arrest-detention-for-recording-immigration-raid/

If I’m on a federal jury, I wouldn’t give this guy $1 million for being assaulted, arrested, and detained for 24 hours by federal agents. I think $500,000 is fair compensation for that, provided the charges are promptly dropped.

If they go ahead and prosecute him, then I’d give him another $500,000 for malicious prosecution, and to reimburse him for his legal defense expenses.

Also, if I’m on a federal jury, I won’t believe testimony by any ICE or CBP agent that they were “assaulted” that isn’t verified by video evidence and/or impartial bystander eyewitnesses. Without corroborating evidence, I’ll presume they’re all liars.

Finally, if he’s prosecuted for “verbally harassing” a federal agent, unless the “verbal harassment” consisted of a threat of bodily harm, that charge should be summarily dismissed by a judge, and if not dismissed, should result in acquittal, followed by a wrongful arrest and malicious prosecution lawsuit.

That’s because anyone in the United States has a First Amendment right to call cops names. Calling them “fascists,” “Nazis,” “pigs,” saying “fuck you,” and giving them the finger are all legally okay. Republican ranchers do it to BLM agents all the time (and even point guns at them). So what’s good for the goose, is good for the gander, except the gander should eschew the gun threats; that’s a Republican thing.

For DHS, ICE, and CBP agents, the taunts and protests are part of the job. These jobs pay extremely well and that’s part of the reason why. As long as nobody but innocent citizens exercising their constitutional rights get hurt and they all go home to their families at the end of the day, they have no legitimate complaint about being hated by 80% of the population. If they can’t stand the heat, they should get out of the kitchen, and get nice cushy jobs as small town cops writing speed trap tickets.

But here’s the thing. If any of those cases go to trial, the ICE agents will have to testify, which means they’ll have to take off their masks and disclose their names.

the company that Busch relinquished has been remade. Anheuser-Busch InBev’s CEO, Carlos Brito, has followed through on the one plan August IV and his team had crafted: It was called Blue Ocean and laid out how to cut about $1 billion of company expenses. When Brito finished with that, he cut another billion. Approximately 1,400 people, about 6 percent of the U.S. workforce, were laid off in late 2008. The executive floor, where only three people used to sit, has been turned into open office space. People who used to fly on corporate jets are now going commercial. Some executives had to turn in their BlackBerrys. In all, Brito sold $7 billion worth of assets, including the Busch Gardens amusement parks. Anheuser-Busch InBev’s sales volume declined 3.1 percent in North America in 2010, while net income rose 14 percent, to $3.9 billion.

“A paternalistic, slightly complacent culture existed under the Busches,” says Stirling. “That’s been replaced by an incredibly hard-driving culture from Brazil. Employees join InBev knowing that it has created scores of millionaires because of its stock. It’s almost as if the two companies have two different ideas about what the purpose of life is.”

Over on the tiktok, there’s a whole lot of independent journalists that are noticing the odd things in the Senate bill.

One that’s become a cause over there. They slipped in a provision that in order to Qualify for SNAP you cannot have Internet at your house. That’s a thing that they’ve put in, food or Internet.

It doesn’t matter if you have kids of school age that are required to have Internet to do their homework since many districts now will only accept assignments submissions online Even if that service is slow as fuck and subsidized by your local city or state or federal. it doesn’t matter if you’re like me who rarely watches TV so instead of cable and a home phone I have a $45 a month fiber optic high-speed connection instead of those other two things. It also doesn’t matter if you were lucky enough to have a work from home job that requires Internet, but doesn’t pay you enough maybe you have to care for a disabled child or parent or partner.

According to the GOP if you can have Internet in any form, you are too rich to qualify for food benefits.

Now I’m high-end tech savvy and I made the choice to have high-speed Internet be basically my only utility bill outside of power and water. I can spoof my location and get a free stream of most sporting events if I care to. MLB TV comes free with my T-Mobile cell phone, the WNBA package for the season is a steal at $35 for the season.

But that’s what the GOP wants their voters to have to choose a connection to the outside world unnecessary tool for work and absolutely essential service for students or food.

Brian Fitzpatrick voted no and then left the chamber and reports are literally no one knows where he is and they can’t get a hold of him to try to get him persuaded to vote. yes. “Government employment posted a large gain, leading all categories with an increase of 73,000 due to solid boosts in state and local hiring, particularly in education-related jobs, which rose by 40,000. Federal government, which is still feeling the impact of cuts from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, lost 7,000

Fantastic test case opportunity, since both speaking in public and recording in public are currently First Ammendment protected forms of public engagement with binding orders in the First, Third, Fifth, Seventh, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits, most recently last year. SCOTUS has declined writ of cert on these appeals every, single, time, and upheld the lower courts interpretations in full.

    Cynical Publius
    @CynicalPublius

People need to understand that the Big Beautiful Bill is an existential crisis for Democrats.

For years their strategy has been:

    1. Flood the USA with tens of millions of illegal aliens.
    2. Count them in the census.
    3. Get dozens of extra House seats and Electoral College votes.
    4. Make the illegals dependent on wealth redistribution from you and me.
    5. Have them vote illegally.
    6. Give them amnesty.
    7. Have them vote legally.

This was their path to perpetual power.

But the BBB, by funding the Wall, and ICE, and cutting the handouts, this is all coming undone.

It’s the death rattle of the Democrat Party.

G-clown must be jumping for joy over the new highs reached today by the S&P 500 and NASDAQ indices.

U.S. stocks rose on Thursday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite hitting fresh record highs, after a better-than-expected jobs report fueled optimism the U.S. economy was hanging tough despite fast-changing trade policy and geopolitics.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 344 points, or 0.8%. The S&P 500 traded 0.8% higher, while the Nasdaq gained 1%.

Nonfarm payrolls rose by 147,000 in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday. That’s above the Dow Jones forecast from economists for 110,000 and the upwardly revised 144,000 in May. The unemployment rate also fell to 4.1%, while economists had projected an increase to 4.3%.

Still well below the strike price ~$400 where the emotionally giddy Nazi Fucktard was forced to buy many thousands of shares. And coming in the wake of yet another disastrous quarterly sales report, down another 14%, and sending the struggling auto manufacturer towards a second year in a row of declining sales, the trend absent the volatility of any meme stock is truly awful.

Tesla’s EV car business is dying. The CEO himself claimed earlier this year that it was dead and it didn’t matter because the company was pivoting to personal home androids and autonomous robot taxis. Neither or which technologies have emerged to replace the huge declines in company revenues.

It’s no accident that Leon Festinger coined the term “cognitive dissonance” by studying cults. The Fucktard fits the profile perfectly. His faith in Elmo is deeply held and tied directly to his identification with “wealth” and pseudo-libertarian “conservative” white supremacy. He openly took meaninful action demonstrating his commitment (selling high risk options and then later selling real estate to raise the funds to aquire the stock to close his options positions). That action produced specific and irrefutable consequences (the stock price declined). He’s still lingering on the fourth condition, clinging to the hope that the stock price will eventually recover to $400, even though this ignores the massive opportunity cost associated with tying up many hundreds of thousands of dollars of his investment capital on equity that may not appreciate at all. He may be able to remain there indefinitely so long as he is willing to see that much of his investment capital taken away from profitable use. And while that will be costly to him, the theory argues that he will accept that gladly rather than book the loss and suffer the resulting agonies of dissonance. And while he lingers in limbo, wavering between clinging to the prophecy and accepting its failure, he can always turn to the community of Fan-Girls and silly influencers that Elmo pays for ongoing moral support to keep him going.

If you’re an Israeli, that’s what committing genocide will do to your popularity.

Israel absolutely had the sympathy of the entire USA when they were attacked, and innocent Israeli civilians were murdered and kidnapped, by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, 2023.

Nobody objected to Israel going after Hamas. They probably could have gotten away with selectively bombing schools and hospitals by saying Hamas terrorists were hiding there.

The backlash began when it became obvious they were deliberately targeting doctors, nurses, aid workers, journalists, and noncombatant civilians, followed by food blockades and talk of an Armenian genocide-style march of Palestinian civilians into the desert.

At that point, the Israelis became mass murderers, and sympathy for them vanished. Even their own people hate their government.

Absolutely nonfactual. Trump hasn’t won anything from the networks in court. Instead, C-suite cowards settled out of court, in one case paying blackmail money, and in the other case paying a bribe for a merger to go ahead. And covered themselves in shame in the process.

But this is only bad for the networks, their independence, and their credibility with viewers, not real journalism. Like the law firms that caved to Trump’s bullying and then lost lawyers and clients, these networks will lose audiences. The free press will go on.

This will be like what happened in the beer industry. The big corporations watered down beers that attracted generations of beer drinkers. That created an opening for small brewers to thrive. The same will happen in the media space. The corporate media will be shunned and independent journalism will thrive.

Speaking of jobs, with the Trump administration preparing to spend billions on immigrant detentions and deportations, and congressional funding now in hand, ICE will be hiring lots of agents.

According to this website, candidates need a bachelor’s degree, will get 64 days of basic law enforcement training and 5 weeks of Spanish language training, and hires will be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The average salary for experienced agents is $79,970 a year.

Before jumping at this truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, prospects should think about this: The work can get very physical, they can get hurt, the public will hate them, they will be subjected to intense verbal abuse, they will be pariahs in society, and if the Democrats win the midterms the job may last only two years before being defunded.

If I’m not mistaken the Big Bullshit Bill sets aside $50b for construction of the Detention Centers (Jails). That’s the equivalent of $1b for one jail in each State, being in the construction industry, that’s what a traditional jail would cost as a high, you could probably figure 2 jails per State @ $500m each even. Probably each housing approximately 2500 people or 250,000 to 500,000. And if there anything like Alligator one in Florida then they’re a lot cheaper, way cheaper, so figure a lot more. I think the $50b is solely for construction. Not operations or guards.

Questions – I thought we were deporting these people and not housing them. I mean yes, a lot cheaper than putting them up in a NYC hotel, but… Are we feeding them? Who is going to build them? The immigrants themselves? Current, the construction industry is experiencing shortages of labor, not enough immigrants, and now less. How long will it take? 8 days like the alligator alley one? Maybe some of the money, or most, will be grifted, and maybe only a few will be built. Where are they going to build them all? The effects of the economy on supply and demand to do without them and then also take away labor from the rest of the construction out there. How long will this go one if Dumpy or some other Dumpy isn’t reelected.

This is a faulty plan or has a hidden agenda. Obama and Clinton deported more people at a lesser cost. My bet is on the hidden agenda.

[NYT] Mr. Mamdani, 33, said he did not consider himself either Black or African American, but rather “an American who was born in Africa.” He said his answers on the college application were an attempt to represent his complex background given the limited choices before him, not to gain an upper hand in the admissions process. (He was not accepted at Columbia.)

“Most college applications don’t have a box for Indian-Ugandans, so I checked multiple boxes trying to capture the fullness of my background,” said Mr. Mamdani, a state lawmaker from Queens…

Make no mistake, Republican antagonism to social welfare programs, and the Big Bad Bill’s Medicaid and food stamp cuts, are deeply rooted in racism.

Ironically, these programs began as ways to help poor white people. When the New Deal began tackling poverty, programs such as Aid to Dependent Children (later renamed Aid to Families with Dependent Children, AFDC) were designed to support mostly white, widowed mothers suffering in the Great Depression.

It wasn’t until the Civil Rights Movement gained traction in the 1960s that more Black families became able to access these same benefits. That led to a backlash against them that the right has long used to try to undercut them.

The bill includes $85 million to pay for its relocation and housing at the Johnson Space Center. The move comes after a push by two Texas Republican senators, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, who argued Houston’s role in the space shuttle program should be recognized.

Let’s also harken back to a time roughly a decade ago, when a less cognitively impaired Joe Biden – vice president at the time, he – used the same term. And then apologized for it:

Biden says use of term ‘Shylocks’ was a poor choice

At a Tuesday conference marking the 40th anniversary of the Legal Services Corporation, Biden recalled anecdotes from his son’s experience serving in Iraq and meeting members of the military who were in need of legal help because of problems back at home.

“That’s one of the things that he finds was most in need when he was over there in Iraq for a year,” Biden said. “That people would come to him and talk about what was happening to them at home in terms of foreclosures, in terms of bad loans that were being … I mean these Shylocks who took advantage of, um, these women and men while overseas.”

This was the year before Beau Biden was killed immediately when he stepped on an IED in Baghdad.

Hoi polloi like us won’t get to keep the tax cuts. The Big Bad Bill shifts federal spending to states so Trump can spend the money on his urban Gestapo. Our state alone will lose $3 billion in Medicaid funding, so the governor plans to convene a special session of the legislature to plug the hole, which means raising state taxes. About the only taxes they can raise are the capital gains tax, the sales tax, and the property tax.

However, I think they should also impose a tax on horse feed equal to Trump’s tariff on imported cars and car parts, so Dumbfuck’s horse doesn’t have an unfair competitive advantage in the transportation industry. They could also legalize prostitution and impose an excise tax on tricks, which would be an additional tax on Dumbfuck’s horse.

HA Commenting Policy

It may be hard to believe from the vile nature of the threads, but yes, we have a commenting policy. Comments containing libel, copyright violations, spam, blatant sock puppetry, and deliberate off-topic trolling are all strictly prohibited, and may be deleted on an entirely arbitrary, sporadic, and selective basis. And repeat offenders may be banned! This is my blog. Life isn’t fair.
