– I am generally opposed to Euclidean zoning so I am fine with more residential properties in SoDo. It’s much less important than density where there are mostly single family lots now, but it’s…fine.

– Congratulations to the people at Representative Baumgartner’s town hall.

– A handy list of ways Washington State is challenging the Trump Administration in court.

– Bail bond agents should not send people to immigration enforcement.

– Seattle PreK is still a thing, and your kiddos may be eligible.

– Great news! You can call or email your legislator or member of Congress.

What has Elon Musk done lately, Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit wondered last week.

Canadian Jasmine Mooney’s ordeal at the hands of ICE goons is bad enough.
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/19/canadian-detained-us-immigration-jasmine-mooney

But what ought to really stand out in all that is how incredibly wasteful and inefficient such a system was, even in her case – a Canadian citizen, with a passport, permission to work in the United States, and willing to return immediately to Canada at her own expense.

For two days she was detained in San Diego, under the supervision of agents who had no idea why, no idea where she would go next, and no reason at all for detaining her. Moved once within the San Diego facility. Then processed into and transfered from Sad Diego to Otay Mesa detention in California where she was housed with other detainees who had no criminal violations – for example two others housed with her there had gotten into the wrong one-way lane in a crowded border area. Next she was shackled and transferred at 2 am to Arizona, the San Luis Regional Detention Center. Then again at 2 am she was transferred in shackles back to confinement in San Diego. Then she was transfered in custody to the airport in San Diego. All in the course of just two weeks. All for someone who had committed no violations at all.

But Elmo is too busy focusing on imaginary invisible secret social security recipients.

Spoke to a former neighbor recently who has a federal job. She’s been at it a long time. Has civil service protection. She said all DEI oriented stuff and personnel are gone from her workplace, any pictures of rainbows, stuff like that gone.. Jobs that are research oriented are going away.. It all sounds like what we’ve been reading about in the media.

But I was a little taken aback when she said that her workplace is returning to “2019 staffing”.

What does that mean? Pretty simple. Pants Shitter 1.0 was all about erasing Obama – reversing everything he did because black guy made fun of orange man at the DC Press party.

Pants shitter 2.0 means erasing “crooked Joe” – the guy who “stole” 2020 from pants shitter.

“2019” is not only pre-Joe. It’s pre “teh Wuhan” which was also a vast klownspiracy hatched by the derp state in collaboration w/ China to run pants shitter out of DC.

The horrible conditions described, the freezing cells, inadequate blankets, small towel for showering, a single plastic cup for water and a single plastic spoon that must be reused for the garbage food – it’s all about maximizing profit.

Without her family making a stink in the media in Canada and elsewhere, she could still be there.

🚨 Harry Sisson convinced 11 different women that ‘he had no roster’ and ‘respected them for more than their bodies’ while persuading them to send explicit photos of themselves through Snapchat, including one from a domestic abuse survivor.

When the women discovered each other one by one, he called them all insane and attempted to coerce one of them into telling the public that the photos were ‘fake.’

@38 of previous thread: Minnesota GOP pervert’s online bio is pretty sketchy. He attended a local high school and college, and is said to be related to the family that owns Glen’s Army-Navy Store in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. But I can’t find anywhere online who is parents are.

Glen’s was founded in 1946 as a military surplus store by a guy named Glen Dix, who retired in 1974 and sold the business to his store manager, Howard Eichorn. Howard’s son, Rusty, currently owns the company.

Sen. Justin Eichorn’s political bio, featuring photos of him, his wife, and their four kids — but not the 16-year-old he’s accused of soliciting for sex, who doesn’t exist, he actually fell for a police sting — says he worked in the “family business.” This refers to Glen’s.

So did Rusty’s sister, she was the bookkeeper. Criminality apparently runs in the family, because she was convicted of embezzling over $200,000 from Glen’s. If Rusty is Sen. Eichorn’s father or uncle, then she would be his aunt.

What does the senator’s relative’s criminal record have to do with him? Nothing. But Doctor Dumbfuck does guilt-by-association trips all the time, so I thought this factoid might be right up his alley.

By the way, Rusty is a floatplane pilot who takes kids for airplane rides. Seems like a good guy. But as family trees go, even sturdy oaks can have a few rotten knots here and there.

@46 “It means that if you want a paycheck you show up at the fucking office each day, girlfriend. Like Bezos and Dimon have made clear.”

Sometimes remote work makes sense, sometimes it doesn’t. Bezos probably can run his business empire from his yacht, wherever it happens to be. Trump can bark out orders on the golf course. Dimon has to be in the office to meet with his board.

Last fall USA Today estimated that 14% of Americans work from home all the time, while 41% of office workers work remotely part of the time, and “only 16% of white-collar workers would consider a role that doesn’t offer any days of remote work.”

    https://www.usatoday.com/money/blueprint/business/hr-payroll/remote-work-statistics/

Bosses and management experts argue the pros and cons of remote work. Some say office interactions with co-workers are essential for team functioning. But when remote work is feasible, it offers tremendous savings for companies and society in general by eliminating need for commuting and expensive office space. Whether it’s right for a company or government agency really is case-by-case, not one-size-fits-all. Which is over the heads of dumbfucks like you and Trump.

Some say office interactions with co-workers are essential for team functioning.

Most of them actually have almost no concept of how a modern office dashboard and customized productivity suite works.

How do they suppose it is that Jay Graber and about 20 other full time employees elevated Bluesky into contending credibly with Xitter?

All the “management initiatives” tested in “team building exercises” and rolled out painfully in various reorgs since long before COVID have led inevitably to this. Once bloated companies shed “non core competencies” to focus on the business and to outsource everything else to vendors. Do you know that I once met a landscape architect who started his career inside Boeing as a landscape architect ?
    That’s insane.

Fuckers like Dimon don’t give a shit about productivity and focus. They have that luxury. For now at least. But the fact is using modern software tools makes office environments for most businesses obsolete. Jay Graber doesn’t give a shit that her company doesn’t own land and buildings. They could barely host an intramural softball game. Those things do not contribute to productivity any more than “casual Fridays” or smelling the office manager’s appalling coffee breath.

Boomers like Dimon can fight it all they want. But office environments are dead. It’s just going to take a while for the corpse to begin rotting.

There is probably going to be some reluctance among Democrats to embrace the Boasberg litigation because of the fascist’s claims that those deported were all “vicious cannibals coming to rape you to death and dine on your corpses”.

Undoubtedly some of those removed to a for-profit torture prison in El Salvador were indeed members of the notorious Venezuelan prison gang. But most were not. And some had absolutely no ties to the criminal gang whatsoever.

Fascists depend on using that phony accusation by association to convince the public to ignore how completely lawless the removal was, and how constitutionally lawless the administration’s response to the lawsuits is. They hope to use the case to establish their authority to ignore the courts, and by extension to ignore the law entirely.

But their legal arguments, the facts of the case, and their own responses to the litigation make it pretty clear they don’t have any hope of winning in court. They never followed any process to make determinations about gang affiliation. They’ve now destroyed those records. They’ve destroyed any records of the identities of the individuals removed. They’ve destroyed records regarding their custody inside the US. They’ve destroyed records concerning their custodial transfers inside the US. And they’ve destroyed some of the records regarding the removal flights.

They never had evidence. And they’ve now destroyed any possibility that they ever did have evidence. They openly defied valid and binding court orders. The best they can now hope for is to win reversal on purely procedural grounds. And they lack those grounds. To win in a higher jurisdiction would require the making of new law.

So when the fascist bleat about Tren de Aragua the only reply we make should consist of these two words:

    prove it.

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate said Friday 277 of the 2,176 individuals identified by his office to have their ballots challenged in the 2024 general election — or not quite 13% — have been confirmed to be noncitizens.

In a news release Friday, Pate said his office gained access to the federal Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database and was able to confirm the citizenship status of the individuals listed by the office as “potential noncitizens.”

Pate had directed county auditors to challenge these voters’ ballots ahead of the Nov. 5, 2024 election because they had reported their noncitizen status to the Iowa Department of Transportation within the past 12 years and later registered to vote.

Immigrant advocates pointed out that most of those voters had gained citizenship in the intervening years and complained they were going to be unfairly subjected to additional scrutiny in order to exercise their right to vote.

    https://www.rawstory.com/iowa-claims-to-find-hundreds-of-noncitizens-confirmed-to-be-on-iowas-voter-rolls/

Couple of thoughts. First, “potential non-citizens” are not “confirmed” non-citizens. Second, a 12-year-old database is not confirmation of citizenship status. Third, now that Pate has confirmed the “potential” non-citizenship of 13% of the flagged voters, the next step should be to contact them and ask if they’re now citizens, ya think?

I have a feeling that 2,176 number will get whittled down from 277 to an even smaller number, like maybe 2 or 3 non-citizens who actually voted because of confusion or a screwup by voter registration authorities.

@115 You disregard the nuances hanging over Pate’s definition of “confirmed non-citizen,” i.e. someone who at one time (often long ago) was counted as a non-citizen in some government database.

We’ve seen this story play out time and again. Republican officials claim to find large numbers of “noncitizen voters” only to later be debunked. For example, after the 2024 election, Alabama election officials

inactivated the registrations of 3,251 individuals on the grounds that they were potential noncitizens but then acknowledged last month at least 2,074 were actually eligible voters, according to court filings.

    https://www.npr.org/2024/10/12/nx-s1-5147789/voting-election-2024-noncitizen-fact-check-trump

Please note this does not prove the other 1,177 are non-citizens. Some probably are citizens. And Republican propagandists get low-intelligence dumbfucks like you to believe that if an ineligible person is registered to vote, they must be voting, but it’s highly likely some of those people don’t even know they’re on voter registration rolls.

Returning to the Iowa case, we now have a firm number: Iowa Public Radio says (here) that 40 of the 277 people cast ballots, and 35 were counted. These cases of “potential noncitizens” cases will be investigated for “alleged illegal noncitizen voting” and whether “charges are warranted.”

That’s a fuck of a lot of “ifs,” dumbfuck doctor. Iowa has a most most 40 cases of illegal voting, but that’s a starting number and you work down from there. And if the total number of prosecutable cases is more than zero, those voters may have illegally voted for Trump. You won’t see any GOP press releases about that.
