Good morning. Seattle Bike Blog has a delightful post proposing putting large trees in traffic circles. Some could have other amenities. Tom’s proposal is largely for residential areas. And it sounds lovely.
I would also like to replace every traffic light on Aurora with something. There’s already a great trail that runs parallel, so it would not have the same need for a little park. But you could still plant a giant tree in a roundabout. Or! A Miawaki forest. The best Miawaki Forest in the region is already just off Aurora.
As long as there’s enough setback that you can see oncoming traffic it seems safer than Aurora now. On my ideal world, we would eliminate curb cuts and drastically reduce parking, but that’s not what this post is.
The ultimate hidden truth of the world is that it is all something that we make, and we could just as easily make diferently.
Without clocks, time is measured by actions, rather than actions being measured by time.
50% drop sounds bad.

(proceeds to beat the shit out of his Mahindra with a hockey stick)
Welp. It appears I must admit to being completely wrong about gun humper paranoia.
All this time I was mocking them for what I insisted was a delusion that “the government is coming for the guns”. And now it turns out they were absolutely right all along:
https://grabien.com/story?id=158485
MAGA AG Pam Bondi rolls out policy plans to raise the minimum age to buy an assault rifle nationwide to 21 (too bad, Rittenhouse-wannabes), ban bump stocks, switches, and other mods, impose permanent restraining orders on anyone who commits DV, and empower the local law to come and seize all the guns.
“What we want to do is let law enforcement come in and take the guns away.”
Maybe this is more of a big, philosophical question.
But is there really any value in gaining protection for the right to tell tasteless jokes about n166ers and ©unts at the office water cooler if you can’t be strapped with an Uzi while you do it?

Apparently losing the support of Musk, Zuck, and Bezos has cost Democrats dearly. What a shame.
First confirmed death in over a decade.
The outbreak continues to grow rapidly.
Republicans did that.
A good Democrat replaces a bad Democrat.
That’s how it works. But only when you’re a Democrat.
In a move brought about by the owner, Jeff Bezos, The Washington Post will no longer publish opinion columns that oppose the core views of Post owner and Amazon executive chair Jeff Bezos.
My personal “how are Republicans not more embarrassed — this looks so bad, even on their own shifting terms” list has now grown to cover both sides of the page, the margins, the header and footer, and is now filling up page two.
@ 9
Say, how did DJT47 and RFK Jr. manage to cause this “first death in over a decade”, QoS McHillbilly?
As we reflect on the dismal fact that Texas parents got one of their young children killed because they greedilly gobbled up GOP-MAGA anti-VAX bullshit, just remember that the Nazi Dumbfuck was absolutely one of those fabricating and pumping out pure, and intentionally deadly lies about vaccine safety.
Chances are, each one of us knows or comes directly into regular contact with many, many others just like him too. These are people who casually, and even enthusiastically created and spread what they knew were dangerous and potentially deadly fables, just for sport.
Killing children is a game for them.
@ 9, 13
Say, how did DJT47 and RFK Jr. manage to be responsible for the “first measles death in over a decade”, last year in our 51st state, QoS McHillbilly?
It’s a complete mystery.
As just one of literally millions of similar examples, Nazi Dumbfuck fabricated a laughably false story about “Facebook friends in CO” being given vaccine from “expired lots” as “proven” by the “lot numbers” appearing on their COVID vaccination cards.
I guess the poor Dumbfuck Nazi will just have to keep posting forever in a vain, and weak effort to bury what he did, and those he very likely convinced to avoid lifesaving vaccines.
How about that Stock Market! Tremendous.
Measles are FAKE news.
I long to see the U.S. become a subservient vassal state for a dying authoritarian nation with 90% lower GDP than our own, just to own the libs.

@5 She’s gonna need a new Supreme Court. Maybe her boss can pressure Thomas and Alito to retire, so he can appoint a couple of gun-grabbing liberals.
@23 She’s a DEI Hire and a very bad one at that.
The best thing about a traffic circle is it’s a very visible place in which you can be killed by your neighbor.
It’s even better when you spend half of your retired life advocating for the traffic circle in which your neighbor ends your life.
Unrelated, but it was totally unnecessary for the P-I to mention that the man who threw the punch that killed Paroline is a black dude.
@7 The Henyard saga has been ongoing in local news for years. I’ve been following it on YouTube for over a year. The Dolton cops are caught up in her scandals. She’s under FBI investigation.
Her Dolton mayor’s salary is the smaller of her two public salaries. She makes over $224K a year as township trustee. But she lost the Democratic primary for that position, too.
@8 There’s nothing journalistically honest about Bezos’ changes. He’s imposing a rigid ideology on WaPo’s editorial pages. Reputable media don’t do that. WaPo will be just another New York Post. It’s his paper, and he can do what he wants with it, but WaPo has been shedding reputation, readership, and editorial staff for some time now, and this will accelerate its decline.

Isn’t Spokane in red Washington, right next door to antivax Idaho? It’s not like the folks there suddenly flipped from rational to Republican four months ago.
As a doctor you surely must know, “Prevention is mainly by vaccination with the pertussis vaccine” (Wikipedia), so how and why do you suppose this child got it?
The lesson to be learned from this sad incident is that adult ignorance can kill vulnerable children. Antivax stupidity is like leaving loaded guns laying around. Do you wish to argue with this, doctor?

https://www.rawstory.com/elon-musk-government-contracts/
The South African bro doesn’t give a fuck about the U.S. veterans who fight America’s wars, so maybe Trump should keep a closer eye on him to keep shit like this from happening. Maybe the V.A. and everything pertaining to veterans should be off-limits to him.
https://www.rawstory.com/trump-veterans/
Let’s be clear about White House briefings: Trump’s shills are kicking out reputable media to make room for “figures with checkered pasts and thin or nonexistent journalistic credentials” to create “a gauzy bubble around its every decision, no matter how destructive or incoherent.”
https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2025/02/donald-trump-press-room-conservative-media/
It goes without saying this doesn’t serve the public interest, but then nothing the Trump administration does serves anyone’s interest except the billionaires’.
Trump has another reason besides the “Gulf of Mexico” flap for not wanting AP reporters asking questions at White House briefings:
https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2025/02/does-doge-save-money-nope/
Well, we already know the number of dead 120-year-olds still receiving Social Security benefits is exactly zero.
Vivek Ramaswamy, who’s running for Ohio governor, decried the “war on work” and declared pushing people off Medicaid and food stamps into jobs without benefits that don’t pay enough to cover rent and food is “the compassionate thing to do.”
https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2025/02/vivek-ramaswamys-governor-ohio-doge-austerity-budget-cuts-musk/
If work was so great as Vivek says, Republicans wouldn’t have to hector people into jobs they can’t live on. If you want people to get off Medicaid and food stamps, then pay livable wages and provide offer health benefits.
The idea that work is “dignified” is ridiculous. There’s nothing dignified in getting yelled at by bosses, or getting an Elon Musk email demanding you justify your job or else.
And it isn’t workers who make money in our capitalist society, it’s lazy and unproductive leeches like me who sit at a computer flipping stocks, which I’m doing quite well with by the way. And I can’t help but enjoy the special tax breaks I get and don’t deserve on capital gains and dividends that hardworking and productive people don’t get.
“But leaders on both sides need to stop describing the stakes of the election in apocalyptic terms. Democracy won’t end if one or the other candidate is elected. Fascism is not aborning if Mr. Trump wins, unless you have little faith in American institutions.”
Didn’t exactly age well.
But hey, credit where it’s due. Trump won, fair and square. And he won the popular vote. Narrowly, yes. But he won. And now we’re all fascists in more or less the same way that all Germans in 1938 were Nazis. We’re “the baddies” now. And our only friends in the world are the other “baddies”.
But just don’t claim any of this was “normal”, “inevitable”, or indpendent of people voting for the candidates with the “R” after their names. Those voters knew what they were doing when they checked those boxes. And now here we are. The world itself isn’t going to end.
Just the world as we have known it for the past 75 years.
Are you excited to rush blindly into the unknown?
The meme “Democrats aren’t doing enough” seems to gaining some momentum in the media chatter, but let’s not sell our allies short. When it came time to vote on the House budget resolution, all the GOP “moderates” folded, but here’s what happened on the other side of the aisle:
https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/house-republicans-advance-far-right-budget-drama-just-getting-started-rcna193796
Don’t forget that MAGA Mike tried to pull a fast one by canceling the vote and telling House members to go home, then holding the vote 10 minutes later, hoping to bamboozle Democrats into missing the vote — and it didn’t work. Every House member except Grijalva voted on the resolution. (The final vote, 217-215, reflects that 2 GOP seats are vacant and 1 GOP member voted against the resolution.)
Democrats, to a person, went the extra mile to oppose the GOP budget plan. And not a single one was fooled by the Speaker’s dirty tricks. So don’t go around saying Democrats aren’t doing enough to fight the GOP’s scheme to dismantle the federal government and the safety net. And voters in purple districts must be reminded in 2026 that their GOP congress critters, without exception, voted for Project 2025.
@46 There isn’t that much about it that’s “unknown.” We know what kind of world Republicans want, because we’ve witnessed it before. Absolutely nothing in their plans or program has changed since 1920.
Bitch please. We’ve all seen him dance and what kind of ‘person of soul’ requests Pavarotti from the DJ.
MUSK VIOLATES THE “LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP” PRINCIPLE.
At the beginning of this video clip, President Musk tells the cabinet, “We’ll make mistakes, but we’ll fix them immediately.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0JzqsXYxXY
Whether his “mistakes” can be fixed immediately, or at all, is debatable. Some mistakes are bound to be irretrievable; that’s just in the nature things. Some fired essential employees won’t come back, or can’t be found. Restarting halted research may not be possible; reconstituting discontinued operations can be like trying to put Humpty-Dumpty together again.
CARPENTER’S ADAGE: MEASURE THREE TIMES, CUT ONCE.
Even if you believe in downsizing government, or rooting out waste, Musk’s hasty knee-jerk approach violates common-sense and folk wisdom learned from experience through the ages.
MUSK LACKS COMMON SENSE.
He’s stupid. He’s a klutz. He shouldn’t be allowed near a chainsaw, let alone our government. Anyone who supports this has no common sense, either.
47% of Gen Z voted for Trump.
House Republicans on Tuesday successfully passed a budget resolution that paves the way for trillions of dollars in tax cuts, which lawmakers hope to offset with significant reductions in federal spending. The move paves the way for lawmakers to proceed with plans to cut up to $330 billion in education-related spending, in part by slashing federal student loan forgiveness and repayment plan programs.
Borrower advocates have warned that gutting federal student loan forgiveness and repayment programs could be devastating for borrowers, leading to increased costs for millions of Americans (and trump voters) and pushing many into default or a lifetime of indebtedness.
Republicans did this
“Update on my neighbor who was laid off by the IRS after voting for Trump…
He’s selling his house, pulling out his kids from private school and his wife is going back to work.”
Republicans did that to themselves.
“President Trump, I voted for you and think you are the best! But, I have some concerns about firing all these people. Seems like it’s the little people who are getting canned and it isn’t being handled appropriately. These are regular middle class people, who did vote for you and who now say they hate you because they are losing theirs jobs. What’s going on?? Why not go after the top people who aren’t all needed. I guess I’m not understanding this. I thought you are for us regular people, but you are hurting US. ”
Republicans did that.
@53 I was NEVER for you “little people.” You should’ve learned that from my first term. Fool you once, shame on me; fool you twice, shame on YOU!!!
Americans voted for Trump, but don’t support his agenda
Nearly 300 poll questions finds Trump is more popular than Trumpism.
@ 55
Nearly 300 poll questions finds Trump is more popular than Trumpism.
And Biden was more popular than Bidenflation.
Throughout his presidency Biden’s favorability was higher than his approval in polls, because people liked the image of a kindly old man even though they hated what he did to the nation. It’s been that way for most presidents.
Had Boxcheck Momala won, her favorability would have been high because people like that she’s black, female, and has Asian subcontinent heritage. This favorability rating would persist despite increasingly horrific approval ratings as liberals began to admit to themselves that she’s really as incompetent a president as she was a vice president.
Another example: HA libbies favor Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit because he says bad things about Republicans even though they disapprove of his repeated racist comments and his spews’ perpetual falsity.
Favorability is different than approval.
Dumb cunts gonna dumbcunt:
How long has Ilhan Omar been a citizen? How about the majority of naturalized US citizens, particularly those from Mexico and other nations south of our border?
Using Kaptur’s rationale (for Welfare Queen YLB and other cerebrally challenged HA libbies, she’s a nearly 80 year-old Democrat congresswoman very poorly representing a district in Ohio), the loyalty of each and every < 22 yr naturalized citizen AND each and every American born in this country fewer than 22 years ago must be questioned.
Mandate-ish, no?
There must be some really depressed Democrats in CT. The GOP candidate did 6.5 point better than Trump did.
@56 “his repeated racist comments and his spews’ perpetual falsity”
You’re the one who put a racist spin on my reference to a common vegetable, and you’re the liar here not me. You can’t even tell the difference between The Onion and real news sites.
@57 And I ain’t the poster who continually refers to women as “dumb cunts … “
@58 “Mandate-ish, no?”
Since you asked, no. This district last elected a Democrat in 1964. The last incumbent, Kevin C. Kelly, was reelected in 2018 and 2022 with approximately 57% of the vote; in 2020 and 2024, he had no opponent, and was reelected with 100% of the vote. He resigned last month to take a state judicial appointment, thus a special election to fill his seat.
Perillo’s margin is a nearly 4-point drop since the last two contested elections in this district.
You think that’s a “mandate,” huh? Consider that turd shoved back up your ass by The Rabbit, and that ain’t no lie.
Elon has a severe stutter far worse than the much milder stutter that Biden was mocked for.
Let’s mock Elon’s stutter.
Yeah, I think it’s a great idea to let “privateers” police the border, as long as they’re not doing it on our side. They needn’t be paid and will provide their own uniforms, weapons, and rations. If they get killed, the government doesn’t have to pay widow’s benefits; and if they’re injured, the government doesn’t have to provide them with medical care. And it’s an all-volunteer force! I just don’t want them prowling around where local landowners or tourists could get hurt from itchy trigger fingers, so make ’em stay on the Mexican side of the fence.
https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5166276-gop-sen-mike-lee-suggests-letting-pirates-take-on-cartels-on-the-border/
And in 2020?
I don think you really know people from CT. They’re not like those from Alabama.
@63 The low vote total is odd. In 2024, when the GOP incumbent ran unopposed, 36,236 votes were cast in this race. In 2020, also uncontested, 37,602 votes were cast in this race. In the contested races in 2018 and 2022, both off-year elections, over 40,000 votes were cast (43,394 in 2018 and 40,600 in 2022). Yet the 2025 special election is under 12,800 votes? I wonder if the mail-in ballots have been counted yet? Connecticut has a somewhat complicated procedure for processing mail-in ballots.
https://portal.ct.gov/sots/election-services/voter-information/absentee-ballot-process
It’s possible, of course, it was simply a low turnout because it’s a special election in the dead of winter.
We have created societies where much of the population, trapped in useless employment, have come to resent and despise equally those who do the most useful work in society, and those who do no paid work at all.
No it isn’t.
Shuttup. You’re retarded.
There’s nothing odd going on.
@65 What is “useful work”? Shouldn’t the free market decide? If someone is willing to pay for work, isn’t it useful in that person’s eyes? But yes, there are those “who do no paid work at all.” For generations, this cohort included slaves and housewives; today, housewives, retirees, and children still do “no paid work at all.” What about the gardener who grows his own vegetables? That involves unpaid work. How about someone who worked his ass off, cashed out, and is taking it easy on the beach? He does no paid work at all, he’s living on his savings. Is there a necessity for every living person to do paid work? I don’t see such a necessity. In fact, for most people who do paid work, the end goal of working is not to have to work anymore. Is there some special glory in working for pay, that makes it an end in itself? How about you? How do you feel about cradle-to-grave laboring for coin, just to make a few more you don’t really need?
The average American works at a job he hates to make money he doesn’t need to buy things he doesn’t want to impress people he doesn’t like.
Some people actually work themselves to death this way. Does that make sense? No, it does not. Well, not me! I’m sitting on my cottontail doing nothing productive at all, and it’s great!
By the way, so are you when you sit there posting on HorsesAss. Don’t work yourself into an aneurysm!

Kings, earls, emperors, pashas, emirs, squires, zamindars, landlords, and the like also do no paid work.
Most people who do a great deal of harm in the world on account of their occupation are protected against the knowledge that they do so.
The “free market” only serves to determine the “free market” value of a job. Economies are created, in part, to perform this service.
But quite obviously the “free market” is entirely incapable of determining the value to society of any job. The social value of most jobs is completely divorced from its “free market” value.
If every single nursing home worker simply ceased to exist tomorrow within a very short time people would begin to suffer and die horribly and families would be stricken with grief.

It’s regrettable, but it’s likely that during the merger of our two contries there will be some redundancies necessitating the termination of some employment. But what people should be taking away from this are the huge efficiencies that we can expect from a union between the United States and Russia. And our considerable increase in market power will give our businesses huge advantages that will lead to big increases in employment further down the line.

My golf score? Let me get back
to you.
@76 “Either way, Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit will be wrong about it.”
Get back to us if I post something about it. Until then, I’m not “wrong” about it and you’re a dumbfuck making that up.
@77 Meanwhile, HHS under antivaxxer RFK Jr. is considering yanking a Moderna contract to develop a bird flu vaccine for humans. The contract was awarded three days before Trump took office, and rescinding it would save taxpayers $590 million, but leave the American public naked if bird flu, which has already jumped to humans, becomes transmissible human-to-human (right now, catching it requires contact with an infected animal). To spend, or not spend, this money is rolling the dice. The Trump administration has no reticence about gambling with lives, so long as it’s yours and not theirs, and RFK Jr. harbors a particular antipathy toward mRNA vaccines, so we’re probably on our own as to bird flu. Maybe prayer will help … ?

@78 “No more lower-court shenanigans on this one. It’s now SCOTUS that will decide whether Article II is a still thing, or whether the country can be run by a single newbie judge.”
Roberts only delayed implementation of the order until Friday. Really, you ought to leave legal stuff to lawyers and/or media pundits who know what they’re talking about, because it’s obvious you don’t.
“Elon Musk said Thursday that Verizon’s efforts to provide a critically needed upgrade to the FAA’s air traffic control system is failing” and the solution is to give that multibillion-dollar contract to “Starlink, a unit of his SpaceX satellite and rocket company.”
https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/27/business/elon-musk-faa-air-traffic-control-failing-spacex/index.html
In fact, he’ll probably award it to himself, since Trump has given him complete control of the government. We’re probably going to see other Musk businesses expand in this manner, too.
I read somewhere yesterday that over the years Musk has gotten over $32 billion of federal contracts. For somebody with such a low opinion of the federal government, he sure sucks on that teat a lot.
See deflation! I managed to get the NASDAQ to deflate 2.78% today. It was bloated!
@79 The fact she’s no ordinary student may have something to do with that.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/connecticut-high-school-graduate-t-223601842.html
The Republican solution to this is end federal support of special education, so more school districts that lack resources for students with special needs will produce graduates like her.
@81 More evidence that Doctor Dumbfuck can’t post about any woman, especially women of color, without referring to them as a “cunt.” His attitude toward women is always plains to see. That helps explain why he sleeps with a horse.
https://thehill.com/policy/transportation/5167261-elon-musk-retired-air-traffic-controllers-return/
You want us to return to a high-stress job, so we can crash planes because you’re firing the workers who maintain the radar and navigational aid equipment? Fuck you.Thank you for the employment offer, but we’ll continue enjoying our retirement.
https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5167356-transgender-military-ban-pentagon/
They don’t teach this in leadership school or the service academies: Urge potential recruits to be a patriot and join up, go through grueling training, then dedicate themselves to years of strenuous service, often in uncomfortable environments, putting their lives on the line and enduring family separations, and they’re rewarded by getting kicked out of the service without their hard-earned pensions and retirement benefits because some asshole doesn’t like their chromosomes.
Imagine what this will do to future recruiting. How many people are going to sign up for a military career when they realize politicians can capriciously end their careers after they’ve put in 12, 15, 17 years they can’t get back?
If you don’t want transgenders in the military, fine, promulgate a policy that no more trans recruits will be enlisted. But you’ve got to grandfather the people who’ve already invested years of their lives in serving. If you don’t, nobody will ever trust the military again to keep its promises, and recruiting could fall off a cliff.
The deal between a soldier and the military is always “needs of the service.” If someone signed up to be a cook, is trained as a cook, and assigned to cook duty, but they need a rifleman, then he’s a rifleman. This is understood by everyone in the service. But kicking someone out of the service because some civilian doesn’t like who you are? That’s different.
They’ll put their lives on the line for you. They’ll follow you to Hell and back. They’ll die for you. But only if they trust you.
Trust is a precious thing. Don’t blow it.

Let’s suppose President Musk takes the FAA contract away from Verizon and awards it to himself. Think Verizon has a pretty good lawsuit there? So do I.
Meanwhile, Tesla stock’s plunge continued today. The Dow was down 0.45%, the S&P 500 was down 1.59%, and TSLA was down 3.04%. DJT isn’t doing so hot, either; it was down 2.94% today.
We saved Gazillions! Biggest Gazillions you ever seen!
The GOP sustained two more court losses today:
A federal judge ruled OPM’s directive to other federal agencies to terminate probationary employees is illegal, and ordered OPM to rescind the memo.

@96 “And holy shit, the benefits those useless fucks receive.”
The useless fucks in the air traffic control towers that Musk is trying to un-retire? What about national park rangers (who I’m pretty sure aren’t paid $100K a year), are they useless fucks too? Are meat inspectors (who don’t make $100K either) useless fucks?
Know what a useless fuck is? Someone with a medical degree who spends his time posting on HA when he’s not in the barn fucking the horse.
@101 Is Russia going to be an American state, or is the U.S. going to be a Russian oblast?
@104 “They just wield power. Because we give it to them.”
No. We didn’t. Stupid Trump voters did. Doctor Dumbfuck did. Little Maxie Asswipe did. But above all, they gave it to themselves, because they could.
By the way, why does South Africa give people stutters? Is it the climate? The culture? Elephant shit in the drinking water?
@108 I suppose that’s true if you regard Fox, Newsmax, Gateway Pundit, OAN, Daily Wire, Breitbart, and Jack Posobiec as “the press.”
Republicans Are “Scared Sh*tless” of Trump’s Fans
The GOP caucus is reportedly “scared shitless” of not just Trump’s ire—but the personal vindictiveness and constant threat of political violence from his MAGA base across the country.
Democrats are better than Republicans.
@109 No, this is why.
Cedric Hollingsworth
I Voted for Trump and America and probably getting fired and told that I’m a bad person for being a Federal worker, wow.
Republicans did this. Democrats are better, they support workers.
its_mrs_howard
LOOK, I LOVE TRUMP, but the way this is being handled initially is not it. I’m a federal worker and I live in a rural town and work in an office that has a hard time obtaining quality employees. We do huge and meaningful work for the American taxpayers, irrigators, tribes, ESA, etc. We took on new facilities last summer that we had to hire to operate and now those folks are gone. We are perpetually 25% understaffed and many of us do the job of 3-5 Ppl. This initial cut has been an absolute detriment to all of the agencies in the basin. We have to cut programs and people and jobs which means we have to cut many important roles and responsibilities we once promised to our water districts, farmers, water users…the list goes on. We cut our open to the public office hours Bc most of our admin staff has been cut. This really isn’t helpful to the American taxpayers. I am 100% for cutting waste, however, the Ppl in my office specifically getting cut has been wasteful as many of them are paid to move to their new duty station which is generally a payout of 20-25k and then it’s another 5-10k to on board and train a new employee. I am absolutely here to see wasteful spending and useless employees doing 20% of the work eliminated, so maybe we should have started with performance evaluations instead. This initial action is hurting your neighbors and local economies on epic levels. Too many of you are excited about your community hurting and it’s heartless and sad.
Republicans did this. Democrats are better, they support workers.
Alcoa warns Trump’s aluminum tariff could cost 100,000 US jobs
Bill Oplinger, Alcoa’s CEO, said that the tariffs could cost about 20,000 U.S. aluminum industry jobs and further 80,000 jobs in sectors that support it.
“This is bad for the aluminum industry in the U.S. It’s bad for American workers,”
Republicans did this. Democrats are better, they know how to create jobs and make an economy grow.

BUT WE HAVE THE HISTORY OF THE REAGAN, BUSH, BUSH, TRUMP RECESSIONS TO PROVE THIS WORKS.
@134 Wait until eastern Washington farmers try to turn their irrigation water on, but no water comes out because no one’s left at BPA to open the taps. Say, didn’t eastern Washington go 2-for-1 for
TrumpMusk?@134 Remember when Musk said cutting federal spending by $2 trillion was “easy-peasy,” and we all scoffed? Well, it turns out he was right and we were wrong, it is easy-peasy if you put him in charge.
You just have to do without everything government did for you, that’s all. Things like BPA power and irrigation water, mail delivery, drugs, food inspection, air traffic control and navigation aids, disaster relief, weather forecasting, pollution cleanups, bridge repairs, and so on.
Of course, you won’t get the tax cut, he will.
Easy-peasy.
@137 Because depressions and recessions tend to further concentrate wealth, it works fine for people whose biggest problem is not how to keep food on the table, but where to invest another $100 billion. The last time it was distressed homes; what will it be this time?
This is a pilot for an upcoming TV series with the working title of “Fired By Elon”:

@141
Rather child like actions by either bias.
Why can’t people grow up?
@142 They don’t want to because they’re having too much fun.
This is what Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) posted on “X”:
(See a screenshot of the original post here.)
By way of background, it’s actually a good thing that Higgins is in Congress now, because before he became a politician he was a cop, and you don’t want this racist pig patrolling streets in Louisiana or anywhere else. (In fact, he was forced to resign from two police jobs, see details here.)
In the video below, MAGA Mike called Higgins a “principled gentleman” (cue laughter 🤣😂😄🤪) and said the answer to Higgins’ racist post was “prayer.” That’s right, Higgins went to the cloakroom, prayed about it, then took the post down. It’s right here in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZlDYHDomdc
I’d sure like to know what Jesus told him in the cloakroom. 🐰🐰🐰
I KNEW IT!!! Elon is a deadbeat dad! His ex says so.

144,
It’s pretty important that they keep idiots like the Nazi Dumbfuck focused anywhere but at the $19 trillion they are adding to the debts owed by all the “fucked kids”. In a single budgetary cycle with the stroke of King Fat Hitler’s pen.
It’s a huge boardwalk game of Three-card monte, using low information, working class resentments to distract from the looting.
McDonald’s Employee Who Turned in Luigi Mangione Nancy Parker is Still BEGGING for Reward Money After It’s Refused
“Is This the Reward I Get for Doing Good?”
Don Shotwell
I am a conservative, and a Republican. I voted for Trump in all three of the presidential elections that he’s won. I even backed his cabinet picks, including RFK.
That being said, I DISAGREE 100% with the proposed overhaul of the SNAP program. Why? Well, it’s simple…
On average, studies show that healthier food costs MORE than other options some may consider “unhealthy.”
People who are on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, colloquially referred to as, “food stamps”) are on this program because they need help affording groceries due to the fact that they are, shall we say, “financially challenged.” I happen to be one of those people, and I’m on SNAP. So, I speak from experience. We are counting EVERY penny.
Long story short: if the government wants the people on SNAP to buy healthier food, then it needs to INCREASE the amount we receive so that we can ACTUALLY AFFORD said “healthy food.”
It is a HUGE problem when you continue to receive the same amount of assistance, and yet it doesn’t buy as much food anymore. At that point, people start missing meals, and that REALLY isn’t healthy.
Everything else…DOGE, no men in women’s sports, America regaining respectect from other nations, Gaza, Russia, etc…keep up the GREAT work.
Republicans did this. They take your food. Democrats are better, they make health food more affordable for everyone.
148,
They’ve got solid data to reassure them that as long as they continue beating up trans kids, terminating low level government employees, turning their backs on NATO, and “sticking it to the city-libs” these mouth breathers will forgive the loss of benefits and watch their kids get sick and starve.
@ 147
McDonald’s Employee Who Turned in Luigi Mangione Nancy Parker is Still BEGGING for Reward Money After It’s Refused
1. It was a customer who spotted Mangione. The customer told an employee, who did nothing more than call police.
2. Part of the reward was offered by NYPD. The arrest was made in Pennsylvania, nearly 300 miles away. By local police in Pennsylvania, who then contacted NYPD.
2a. The NYPD reward money is through its Crimestoppers unit, and to receive it the contact has to be made directly to Crimestoppers so that the process can be initiated and a claim number assigned. Which was not done because it was the local PA police who contacted NYPD, not the Mickey D’s employee.
3. Another part of the reward was offered by the FBI. It’s up to the FBI – Biden’s FBI at the time of the arrest – to put forth the name of a citizen for the reward.
It takes a village, amirite? Not everyone in the village should have their hand out. I think that’s right there in her book.
@148 SNAP, Medicaid, Section 8 housing, and other federal welfare programs subsidize low-paying employers. Take away those subsidies and those employers will have to pay higher wages.
One of the reasons “work requirements” don’t expand the labor pool is because most SNAP beneficiaries are already working.
Let’s not forget SNAP was set up to benefit farmers. Taking SNAP away from the working poor also takes livelihoods away from farmers.
