A few interesting tidbits about the E Car market.
While EVs made up 3.1% of U.S. New car sales in 2021 they were 5.6% in 2022. Further growth in market share is expected in 2023.
And on the topic of market share. While Tesla is still the clear leader share of it’s mid-price Model 3 fell from 30.7% in 2021 to 19.4% in 2022. The $90K model S increased market share a bit in the same period.
Looking at that it would appear that while “Average Joe” drivers are beginning to take EVs seriously, they are gravitating toward many of the other models now available instead of Tesla.

Not content to have had their asses handed to them in the Abortion ballot measure Kansas Republicans passed, with a veto proof majority a measure requiring life saving measures for the fetus ‘born alive’ during an abortion procedure.
Despite the fact that this is a thing that does not happen the bill’s language has been interpreted by medical professionals that it would require them to provide ressustation rather than end of life care for a non-viable fetus in cases where the mother is either in life threatening situations or simply a couple who decides that watching a baby live and suffer for a few minutes post partum is not something they wish to experience.

I’ve been across our state since Friday, surveying damage, meeting with survivors, and discussing recovery efforts with local leaders, emergency personnel, and volunteers. It’s clear that the cost to clean up the damage those storms created will be substantial. The federal government is currently covering 75 percent of all costs incurred during our recovery process, but that arrangement must go further to help Arkansans in need. Today, I’m asking the federal government to cover 100 percent of all our recovery expenses during the first 30 days after the storm.

I’m not one to support or defend the idea of “citizen” legislatures.
Government is one of the most technically complex of human endeavors. So there’s nothing wrong with professional experience as a lawmaker – the more, the better.
But I swear, even a true “citizen legislature” would be better than what North Carolina offers. In recent years in NC a “short session” has been nine months long. Yet the base pay is less than $15,000 for a “part time” lawmaker. It’s basically a trash fire. And it shows.
So with that in mind I find it truly marvelous and fantastic that having suffered through so many years of continuous failure and defeat our resident Shit-lord crybaby has found an imaginary bright spot buried somewhere within the political trash fire of the North Carolina assembly. Good for him.
But the rest of us should be asking ourselves if any of that shit even matters. As I said earlier, a well disciplined political party org finds ways to discipline wayward lawmakers without having to openly go to war with them on divisive issues. And the expectation is that lawmakers reciprocal duty to the party that supports them is to do likewise. North Carolina politics is a fucking sewer. It’s not the place I would go to try to gauge either party’s health. North Carolina is a place where criminal election fraud cases are fairly common still. Superficially, if all you looked at were corporate and institutional names in Raleigh-Durham-Carey, it would be easy to come away with an impression of North Carolina as a modern, developed, post-industrial tech hub leading the southeast into the 21st century. But its politics and its political institutions are still stuck in 1876. And many of those who serve as essentially full-time state lawmakers without pay are bound to be amateurish, intemperate, and inexperienced – from both parties. It’s not the least bit surprising or even the tiniest bit disappointing to me to see that inexperienced amateurs working for no pay under tremendous pressure and scrutiny should act badly from time to time.
But in the end, if lung cancer hadn’t killed McCrae Dowless the Kung Fu Flu would have.
@34 You could argue that Dowless brought a sort of order to the chaos. By falsifying ballots and stealing an election, he contributed to continuity. While he is not missed, the vacuum his death leaves behind opens the door to less-professional election-stealers.
Paying legislators next to nothing is deliberate. There are those who argue that members of Congress should be paid nothing at all. The whole idea behind the push to turn politics into strictly volunteer work is to ensure it is a hobby that only those with independent means can pursue. In other words, making politics a hobby of the rich.
As for “citizen” legislators, keep in mind the rich are citizens, too. And like all citizens, they pursue their self-interest, even in public service. Especially in public service.
I see that Sovereign Citizen Trump, after flying home to Florida on a private plane with a homemade cardboard registration placard, is loudly insisting, in defiance of the judge’s admonition, that the court has no in rem jurisdiction over his corporeal body because the courtroom flag lacks a gold fringe and therefore isn’t an admiralty court, or something to that effect.

We also talked to the same “Democrat Mom” we had on saying school choice and parental review of lessons was an essential part of her vote in the run-up to 2022.
“Enough is enough already,” she said. If we’re going to start pinpointing politicians for all of their business affairs, looking deeper into things that they’ve done in the past, we need to investigate all of them. He’s not the first person who’s done this.”

Wisconsin Republicans won a state senate seat yesterday. That gives them a supermajority. Today, they’re talking about using it to impeach the judge who was elected yesterday.
It doesn’t matter what voters think of this, because Wisconsin so gerrymandered that Republicans can “win” two-thirds of the Assembly seats with 44% of the votes, as they did in 2018.
Nevertheless, I think these undemocratic power plays are going to catch up with them.

63,
I’m still struggling to comprehend how… what… why… huh…. wtf…
wha… why come… uh… wait…
Why the fuck is a local county prosecutor in Kentucky phoning a Kentucky pig farmer who lives in Silver Springs Maryland to ask him how to bring charges against a businessman who lives in Malibu?
Have these imaginary prosecutors never filed a case before? They actually don’t know how to go about doing their “very important” job? And they don’t even know who to ask for help correctly? So they call Jim Comer?
If I were named Biden I don’t think I’d be worried so much as struggling not to laugh.
That may be one of the most pathetic lies told this whole week. Imagine anyone being as desperate to grovel for Daddy Twump as James Comer. I’d call him a clown but clowns get paid to humiliate themselves. This asshole gives it away.

@56 So, according to your math, I’m out $30 and that makes me a lousy investor? You can brag about losing six figures at a time, but I wouldn’t if I were in that position.
@57 I doubt he’ll do as well in the Democratic primaries as his dad did.
@58 Doctor Dumbfuck prefers the system under which taxpayers subsidize 50% of workers’ living costs so employers can enjoy cheap labor and fatten their profits — as long as he’s not paying taxes himself.
@63 Looks like a couple small-time prosecutors are volunteering their counties for financial suicide. Malicious prosecution is a compensable tort, you know. If I were the Bidens, I’d enforce the judgments by taking it out of their federal flood relief money.
@68 Maybe smoking that crack pipe will bring clarity. Don’t you know Republicans can do anything they want to? Just ask trendsetter Clarence Thomas. Also, he’ll bestow jurisdiction on them if they pay him enough.
71,
When he finishes without having won a single delegate he would normally not qualify as a candidate to the convention, and therefor would not be entitled to candidate credentials to the convention. But he’ll make a stink and try to leverage the family name.

The entire fucking planet has been struggling for decades to bring “efficiency” and “technology” to warehousing and distribution and getting barely anywhere. Supply logistics are one of the few, unique major sectors that are so globally interdependent that the adoption of labor saving technology is restricted by the global average cost of labor.
Ever think about pallets? No? Of course not. Why the fuck would you.
Interesting fact: a standard shipping pallet is 6-2/3 cu-ft of volume. So what, right? Multiply that by 2 billion. That’s how much global shipping volume was occupied last year by shitty, wooden pallets invented a century ago. Over thirteen billion cu ft of capacity. That works out to about thirteen million shipping containers. That’s equal to the total handling of the Port of Seattle over thirteen years. For pallets.
The Murdoch tabloid that the Shit-lord cites includes photos. One is of a retail store – which has absolutely nothing to do with this. Look at the other one. See that stack of boxes? What’s that blue thing under them?

And the dumbest, most delusional fuck stick you know thinks it must have something to do with pampered, overpaid teens who “don’t know how to work”.

US manufacturing near three-year low; casts a shadow over economy
That means all aspects of US manufacturing contracted last month. Exclusive of the pandemic, it hasn’t been this bad since the Great Recession. Companies are about to begin destroying product so they don’t have to pay for the warehousing space to store it. Right now they’re selling it on the secondary market, but the next step is to destroy product.

The Biden Economic Miracle is more powerful than the Fed, more powerful than global finance, more powerful than OPEC, and more powerful than Putin and Walmart.
All without nuking a single hurricane.
@ 105
Sounds like someone bought Disney at the peak. Only two shares, sure, but someone still seems very unhappy at what has happened to Disney’s share price over the last two years.
They got caught.
“Personal hospitality need not be reported. Personal hospitality means hospitality extended for a non-business purpose by one, not a corporation or organization, at the personal residence of that person or his family or on property or facilities owned by that person or family.”
@108 Got caught doing what? oh yeah:
“By this point, Mortara had spent most of his time comparing white and Asian American applicants. But then suddenly, it seemed, his speech shifted. Asian Americans, he argued, do “dramatically and shockingly” worse than both African Americans and Latinos in the personal ratings.
Then the speech shifted back to a traditional argument that SFFA has been making for months: The university’s admissions system discriminates against Asian Americans because of the gigantic incentives that are given to mostly white groups, such as recruited athletes, of whom roughly 80 percent of applicants are admitted, and so-called legacies, students whose close relatives attended Harvard. ”

Heh.. kreepshit is hellbent on preserving a “legacy” for its thugs-in-training “grandkids”.. damn straight..
a “kick the living shit” legacy.
Some big states making this move of late.
Cry harder, Randi.
@ 110
But then suddenly, it seemed, his speech shifted. Asian Americans, he argued, do “dramatically and shockingly” worse than both African Americans and Latinos in the personal ratings.
Yes, Queen YLB, that was the case. But do you know why, and do you know that Harvard changed the personal ratings criteria for the class entering in Fall 2023 from what it was for the class entering Fall 2022?
And that Harvard tried to hide this change, because it’s pretty much a red flag of guilt? And that Harvard objected to the changes it made being admitted as evidence
in the court case?
Here are the changes.
Queen YLB, the changes that were made are favorable to Asian-American applicants. Because Harvard got caught.
Thanks for playing, girlfriend.
Why does Queen YLB @ 110 use a 2018 article to tell us what the Asian-American students vs. Harvard case “is really about”, when the case was argued right out in the open at the US Supreme Court four years later?
@112 “got caught” being “woke” for “mostly white” groups like athletes and “legacies”
give it the deathsatanist spin kreepshit, and don’t forget the kneepads.
It’s for our entertainment, HA’s court fool.
@113 “use a 2018 article”
The wheels of justice “turn slowly” dear kreepshit..
We’re just finding out now about Clarence and Ginni’s “perks” for being such staunch klownservatics.
@ 114
She doesn’t understand.
She doesn’t understand that Harvard’s admissions office added the written guidance that race should not be considered when reviewing a student’s application between the Class of 2022 and Class of 2023 admission years, and then the admissions officer denied in court that Harvard had done it.
It’s hard to blame Queen YLB, personally, for possessing the reading comprehension of a middle school girl.
She doesn’t understand.
So not a corporate owned, trust owned, or investor owned lodge, retreat, island, jet, or super yacht.
Which would then be considered be bribes.
@116 Look at it run away from “mostly white groups” like “athletes” and “legacies”..
The motivation for short changing asians in the first place.
“legacies” have munee, no? Athletes bring in munee, alumni munee.
Why is kreepshit so desperate to hide the munee motive?
Just bring teh woke kreepshit like you used to bring the antifa.
Voters in pursuit of fewer school shootings simply need to focus on the goal of fewer Republicans.
@ 115
We’re just finding out now about Clarence …
Actually, the NYT published a very similar article about Thomas in 2011, Queen YLB.
What major differences are there between 2011 and 2023?
See @ 109, girlfriend.
Given the seemingly overwhelming number of firearms that have flooded into our communities, combined with the numbing and consistent toll of gun carnage, real reductions in gun slaughter can seem like an unreachable goal.
But reduced Republicans is a very achievable goal and one that every citizen in every community can understand and see as immediately attainable.
Fewer Republicans = fewer shootings.
@120 LMAO…
Why is kreepshit going back to an article published in 2011?
Doesn’t it know private jets, yachts and luxury accommodations in exotic locales have since then greatly improved for the benefit of rich klownservatics and their “friends”?
Fewer Republicans =
No SS checks for them and following from kreepshit’s kreepee babbling..
GOOD..
for my kids..
AMIRITE??
The MIT DEI debate is uploaded and on YouTube:
Debate: Should Academic DEI Programs be Abolished?
Apparently there were no disturbances and everyone behaved like adults. Sorry, Queen YLB, the participants used big words.
This is what happens after investing your entire heart, soul, and professional credibility into the search for dick pics:

I don’t know if any of you have ever had to take part in any kind of intervention. But if you have then tell me Taibi’s reactions aren’t reminiscent. His self-transformation is now complete 🤡
The MIT DEI debate is uploaded and on YouTube:
One one side: Diversity Equity Inclusion..
On the other: whites only; white privilege; only wealthy, privileged whites need apply.
Heh.. CRT is so 2021?
This is a powerful response.
It should frighten Tennessee Republicans.

It won’t tho.
Good.

Yes, and Team Clinton pronounced Gennifer Flowers’ allegations untrue because one of the tryst locations/dates she listed was incorrect.
How’s Mastodon, doing, anyway?
More accurately, less than 0.009% of the websites it tracks.
Shorter Rep Farmer:

He just raised millions for Tennessee Democrats. And he probably secured Justin Pearson’s political future.

The representatives who used a bullhorn on the chamber floor were expelled.
The representatives who did not apologize were expelled.
The representative who was not expelled avoided that fate by a single vote.
But hey, let’s make it about race.
Yes, both Justins will be re-elected. Jones is an idiot. Pearson shows promise.
And speaking of user metrics in microblogging apps here’s how that’s going on Elmo’s BirdShite:

Don’t have to. Tennessee Republicans beat us to it.
So weird. /s
Just a reminder that U.S. Markets are closed to honor a minor Christian holiday that is arbitrarily assigned to a Friday before a major holiday that always, always, for historical accuracy falls on a Sunday.
@109
Ran smack dab into this:
(flights on a private plane must be reported, whether transit between ports on a private mega-yacht that is ALSO acting as lodging is exempt is a gray area, but judges generally take the MOST conservative interpretation and declare as needed)
(Did someone other than the owner of the, ahem, resort buy a bottle of wine that Clarence partook of? Who supplied the fine cigars they have in the now published painting? Were they Cuban? That’s a violation. Judges generally steer clear of any POSSIBLE ethics violation by over-declaring or by not acting in a way that can be perceived as a violation)
Some of the creators and others I follow regularly on Mastodon are on eight or more different instances, each of which has its own unique URL or “site“.
There are currently more than 11,000 individual instances of Mastodon.
I don’t really know what BurdShite’s “impact” on content distribution would look like if you divided it by 11,000.
Because I don’t care.
Mastodon is not a “site” that a user “visits”, Grandpa.
Mastodon is an implementation of a content networking protocol called ActivityPub.
It’s like trying to analyze Tesla’s impact on transportation by counting oil filters.
@myself 135
There is literally ZERO chance that at no point in a law review, or continuing education ethics seminar or even in Law School Clarence was not made aware that private planes were LITERALLY letter of the law required to be reported.
But he’s doubling down now saying he wasn’t required to report.
Which is Asinine. But…Clarence.
Face it dumbfuck, Clarence was going to extraordinary means to hide that his good friend was setting up gatherings where the appearance of corruption was high. Maybe not Everest high but K2.
And Clarence unilaterally decided this was not a problem that needed to be disclosed. Even though it was required to be disclosed.
Look. It just is what it is.
I really don’t have a clue about any of this complex, legal, gobbledygook. Reading’s just not my thing. I get bored.
I have staff do all that for me.
I don’t really consider any of this my responsibility.
What’s that? Yes, I have them read appellant and amicus briefs too. Some of them go on for dozens of pages and use big words that make me sleepy. I just skim a clerk’s summary later and mostly rely on their conclusions and legal opinions. It’s better for me this way.
Is that a problem?
@ 109, 135, 137
You didn’t provide a link, but you should be aware that what you quoted is the new, revised set of guidelines, not the guidelines in effect during the periods in question.
But high-tech lynchings of black people you don’t like can be complicated that way, so it’s understandable. It’s what ProPublica is hoping for.
@139
Dumbfuck quotes the “New” guidelines on hospitality then ignores them.
And the “Appearance of impropriety” prohibitions in guidelines going back at least to the 1970s includes language that “any reasonable person” could interpret as a conflict of interest must be avoided.
So Dumbfuck is now hiding behind, “Well Clarence literally thought no one could assume that flying on the private jet of a person with matters often before the court in extension and dining with and spending time with persons with DIRECT matters before the court can’t be reasonably seen as a conflict because Clarence is an honorable man.”
Solid work dumbfuck.
For all the glory, what would a reasonable person think of accepting private jet travel and a half million dollar vacation from a friend vis-a-vis potential for corruption?
@139,
Aren’t you paying attention sir?
I deny nothing.
I dispute none of the reporting.
My statement speaks for itself.
I didn’t bother with the reading of any reporting guidelines but instead relied on the opinions of others. A lifelong habit of mine.
I simply don’t care.
For all the glory, what would a reasonable person think of accepting private jet travel and a half million dollar vacation from a friend vis-a-vis potential for corruption?
Nevermind that.
We already know what a pathologically dishonest troll thinks about a 20 min tarmac meeting between a former POTUS and a current AG.
This Burisma —> Joe Biden —> fracking relationship deserves the same ethical scrutiny, no? Particularly if we’re gonna bring up appearances of impropriety.
Shut up, they said.
A resolution adopted at the R.N.C.’s winter meeting in January urges Republican lawmakers “to pass the strongest pro-life legislation possible.” Addressing their party’s poor showing in November, it said that Republicans hadn’t been aggressive enough in defending anti-abortion values, urging them to “go on offense in the 2024 election cycle.”
Absolutely, when repukes lose they should always go further to the “always wrong”.. Don’t be wimpy repukes. Be more aggressively “always wrong”.
Voters “respond” to that.
Hey look, it’s Bob’s Heterosexual Neanderthal cousin on the bottom half of the picture.

The Biden-Ukraine conspiracy theory is a series of false allegations that Joe Biden, while he was vice president of the United States, engaged in corrupt activities relating to the employment of his son, Hunter Biden, by the Ukrainian gas company Burisma.[1] They were spread primarily in an attempt to damage Joe Biden’s reputation during the 2020 presidential campaign.
@144
You mean the thing that a partisan press corp roughly the size of the Turkish military have been chasing down since 2017 or so and have so far found…..
close to nothing?
By all means, investigate it. Smarter people than Jim Jordan have been trying for going on five years.
But missing the point entirely, Federal Judges have very distinct and codified rules of professional conduct that applies only to Federal Judges. These rules are well understood by anyone who has ever practiced law. Politicians have codified rules for receiving gifts but none whatsoever about with whom they associate. Even less rules about with whom their children associate.
So unless the army of ink-stained wretches chasing this story sometime find some proof that Joe Biden was paid a bribe….
You got a story that only the most partisan of dumbfucks cares about.
…that I’ll never read.
That’s just not why I took this job.
It’s time for Clarence to get paid.
Such as the nine days we spent traveling by luxury private jet and super yacht throughout Indonesia.
As friends do.
