Updating Darcy’s resume

Man, those righties sure are obsessed with Darcy Burner’s resume… obsessed with getting it wrong.

Yesterday, (u)SP’s Eric Earling “reported” that Darcy would be taking the Executive Director position at the Congressional Progressive Caucus, prompting the usual wingnut mirth about Darcy being some sort of hard left socialist or something.  His reliable source?  A Facebook update from former Reichert Chief of Staff Mike Shields, a man who made a career out of lying about Darcy and her accomplishments.

In fact, Darcy is taking an ED job in the other Washington, but it most definitely is not with the Progressive Caucus.  I know this because I actually bothered to ask Darcy, who sounded very excited about the opportunity to head up a new not-for-profit policy foundation; details will be forthcoming she promised, once it is officially announced.

In the meanwhile, I wouldn’t count on (u)SP to fill the news void left by the collapse of the P-I.

    I had that same conversation with Darcy a couple of weeks ago. I was expecting an announcement by now. I’m anxious for her to nail this down.

    Sounds to me like Sound Politics was right. There might be some question about her new title, but they got it right. She’s taking a new job. Goldy is trying to throw everyone off track by saying that because SP didn’t get her exact title right, that they were 100% off base. I disagree with Goldy, and I’m not going to fall for his trick. I hope you don’t either.

    Support for the Democratic Congressional candidates fell to a new low over the past week, allowing the GOP to move slightly head for the first time in recent years in the Generic Congressional Ballot.

    The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 41% said they would vote for their district’s Republican candidate while 39% would choose the Democrat.

    Investors now favor Republicans by a 46% to 36% margin, while non-investors would vote Democratic by a 45% to 33% margin.

    Democrats began the year holding a six or seven point lead over the GOP for the first several weeks of 2009. Over the past month, the gap has been smaller, with Democrats holding a two-to-four point lead.

    re 16: A friend of mine broke his leg skiing in Flagstaff, AZ. They took him to the hospital where he was anaesthetized by a visiting socialistic Canadian doctor who, to ad insult to injury, had made him wait.

    He died from the anaesthesia. Damn Canadians.

    Actually, it wasn’t a socialistic Canadian. It was an American doctor. So, by wingnut logic, American (capitalist) medical care is no good either.

    Maybe it’s time to look for a Navaho medicine man.

    @16 Reports of Ms. Richardson’s brain death are unconfirmed and possibly untrue. What’s clear is that she went skiing without a helmet, fell, struck her head, and although she initially told a ski instruction that she felt fine, she began feeling unwell within an hour or so and it has now been determined that she suffered a head injury in her fall. This is in no way the fault of the Canadian hospital.

My liberal friends were right!They told me if I voted for McCain, the nation’s Hope would deteriorate, and sure enough there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer Confidence Index since the election, reaching a lower point than any time during the Bush administration.They told me if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply embroiled in the Middle East , and sure enough tens of thousands of additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into Afghanistan .They told me if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get worse and sure enough unemployment is approaching 8.8% and the new stimulus packages implemented recently have sent the stock market lower than at any time since 9/11/01.They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more “crooks” in high ranking positions in Federal government and sure enough, several recent cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of bribery and tax fraud.Well I ignored my Democrat friends in November and voted for McCain.     Right Stuff, I’m considerably happier at 7500 than 6700, although I do expect the markets to eventually retest the lows. At least we have some support at that level now. Not much, but some. If it goes below that, we’re all in deep shit. Next stop is possibly 2500. Be one Left, Right or an alien visitor from another planet, that would truly suck.

    Second, anyone who even attempts to spell minutia as minuscia nead to go back to third grade. Typos I can understand, but pure ignorance….that is hard to come by. Cynical takes the cake for lack of knowledge of the English language (Except for Truth who is too dumb to even communicate and could not tell a lie if it stared at him in the face).
