Heads up… newly elected Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark will be stopping by the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally tomorrow night, where we can all bask a bit in the afterglow of his sweet victory. So come on by to chat with Peter and toast a new administration that won’t be in the pockets of the mining and timber industries.

Great. Wish I could be there. Tomorrow is my 19th wedding anniversary. Better not push my luck.
For those of you that would like some background on Peter Goldmark and the office he was elected to, I suggest this excellent dKos diary by “teacherken”

I am damn glad we have someone with a such a great broad background in this position. A rancher, who knows science! How cool is that?
N in Seattle spews:
Will Peter be at DL early or late? Is he going to participate in the podcast (is there even going to be a podcast this week?)?
Goldy spews:
N @3,
Probably around 8:30. Don’t know how long he’ll stay.
SeattleJew spews:
We really should have some sort of award/plaque we can give to successful candidates who visit DL!
mark spews:
Say goodbye to more jobs. This is so entertaining it’s beyond funny.
correctnotright spews:
Mark: What a finely tuned sense of humor you have – no one can understand what is funny except that your posts continually push the envelope of the believable into fantasy.
I suppose the mere fact you and your corrupted, sad and putrulent philosophy still exist can be considered humorous.
oh well spews:
Few months too late for Maury Island.
Darcy Burner spews:
I could really use an “economics” degree from Harvard if you’re able to swing it….oh! you said successfull candidates.
My apologies , nevermind
mark spews:
@7 You’re funny too.
