Last week I stuck my neck out and predicted the Times endorsements in the Seattle City Council races:
Conlin, Bagshaw, Licata and Royer in the City Council races… If they do dual endorsements in Council Districts 4, 6 and 8, throw in Bloom, Israel, and here’s the reach… Forch.
Well, today the Seattle Times endorsed Bagshaw for Position 4, and Licata and Israel for Position 6, proving me right on the money. I’m a psychic.

Actually, you are to accurate to be given the
psychic definition;psychics make generalized
predictions, and then wait until an event fits the vague prediction claiming it to be a prediction;much like shooting a target,
circling it,and claiming a bullseye.

The Times endorsed Albro for the Port. Get a load of what his contributors are up to, in terms of a sweet deal in reduced rent:

SSA cronies are a big donor to Albro. Funny–Times doesn’t mention that.

@2 Merely the latest in a long (and growing) list of reasons to disband the POS and turn its functions over to the county. How much longer will the legislature allow this leech to suck taxpayers’ blood?
tpn spews:
@3: Seeing what they did to Metro, and what they will do with the ferries, no thanks. The Port is a specialized entity, and combining it with a monolith like the county would make it even harder to hold it accountable.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@4 I’m not saying the county would do a great job of running the port. I’m saying the port is doing such a lousy job of running themselves that anybody, including the county, could do it better.
Here’s an idea: Cut off the taxpayer subsidy and let them fend for themselves, and let bankruptcy be one of the possible outcomes.
What we’ve learned from experience is that as long as port managers and staff have a hand in homeowners’ pockets there will be corruption, sweetheart deals, and mismanagement — you can bank on it.
tpn spews:
@5: Except that the port levy is a very small portion of property tax, and they don’t even levy the full amount that they are legally allowed. It is much easier to reform a smaller organization then a large one that can play sleight of hand games in an even larger bureauacracy. A BK would cause tenants to take flight to Tacoma or even Prince Rupert. Pretty bad for the local economy.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@6 Baloney, I pay over $100 a year in port taxes! POS is the only major west coast port that gets a taxpayer subsidy, why is that? If the other ports can support themselves, why can’t ours? And don’t use that phony argument on me that taxpayers should to pay blackmail money to big corporations to keep jobs here; that one’s a “no sale” with this rabbit.
Troll spews:
And I predict Lee will make some kind of pot post in August. And I predict Goldy will make a post about some Seattle Times editorial he read.
What does that prove that I can predict that? Nothing.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@8 And I predict you’ll continue making an ass of yourself every time you post.
